I had an unpleasant time here. I tried to politely wave down the servers and they did not even look up or in my direction. Then I went to the bar to place my order and was completely ignored again. I will not spend my money in a place that treats me like I am invisible… very unhappy with this establishment.

There’s plenty of parking spots, as you first walk inside there’s a bar to the left where you can order your drinks before going in the movies I assume. When walking inside the theater, there’s plenty of walking space, clean. Food & drinks were worth the price & taste good as well. The only thing I wish they would make bigger are the tables, my boyfriend & I had to use 2 tables because the plates of the food + pitcher of beer & my drink didn’t fit in that one small round table.

Good food, very clean theatre and bathrooms, only downfall was it was super stuffy in the theatre! It’s rainy outside and I get it, but there was no air circulating and I was uncomfortable. Spoke to the manager mid movie and he said he would take care of it but temperature didn’t change. Lobby was an appropriate temperature so I’m not sure why the theatre wasn’t.

Been coming here for years and I’ve never had a bad experience. It’s pretty easy to find, right off Laskin Rd near the beach. Parking is kind of small but I would say adequate. It’s not a huge movie theatre like AMC and they don’t share the lot with any other establishment so it’s appropriate. I should also note it’s one way in, one way out as well. What I really like about this place is that it’s clean. The bar right inside in the lobby can be used to kill time if you’re early or in the mood for a drink. It’s bright inside and doesn’t have that nasty, old carpet smell. There’s also a nice leather couch to lounge in, too. The theatres are pretty much a good size as well. If you plan it well, you and your date should sit with a table to share, but I have also noticed that during older movies or when there’s less traffic, you and your date can sit where you can each have your own table. I used to complain to myself that the tables are too small for food and my drink, but today was the first time I realized, DUH!!!, you can put your drink in the cup holder in the arm rest to free up table space! Hello! LoL! While I do think the food is a pretty nice variety and tasty, I think the prices are pretty steep. Two medium popcorns and an order of calamari was $ 25, no drinks since we ordered waters. But that’s to be expected at any movie theatre. Going to the movies these days cost an arm and a leg. It’s like going to a concert! Tickets for 3 «adults»(aka 2 adults and 1 teenager) was around $ 35 but with our military and student IDs, the price came down to $ 27 I think. What makes this place stand out from say, Cinema Café, is that the wait service is NOT continual. I highly recommend arriving at least 30 mins to your selected movie to order food and drinks of you plan on having a meal here. It does take some time, just like at a restaurant, for it to be ordered, prepared, and brought out to you. After they have brought out your entire order they bring you the check and you are expected to pay ASAP, not towards the end of the movie or after it. I like this concept because you don’t have waitstaff running back and forth blocking your view sometimes, or hearing other movie goers make constant orders in not so «whispering, inside voices.» Also, because it’s not a continual service, the theatre lights stay dim and dark. With that other place, it never gets dark enough for me… and I think it’s because the waitstaff needs light to see where they’re going. The seats are also a big difference. They’re not big obnoxious chairs on wheels that squeak and squeal with every move. If you do need something during the movie, as they mention it right before the movie starts, you are free to head out to the bar and order it. If it’s food, they’ll give you a number to take back with you to your seat and they’ll come deliver it to you. Otherwise, they make an announcement that the movie is about to start and last call is in the next minute or two for requests or refills or whatever. The only thing I don’t like about BMB is that you cannot purchase tickets on Fandango. I’m an avid fandango user and think that in this day and age, BMB should get with the program and offer online purchases. It’s a bummer to show up to a movie only to find it SOLDOUT because online doesn’t tell you it is.

Our visit was during the spring when there is a comfortable amount of people visiting Virginia Beach. Our visit was awesome! We don’t have these types of diner/movies places and it was a treat! Expensive, yes, but isn’t everything near the beach. Food was surprisingly delish! We would defiantly come back!

Calamari to-go just for mom. The breading is yummy & dusted w parmesan&parsley. Ask for extra boomboom sauce, not bc they don’t give enough, bc you’ll just want more

Great place for dinner AND a movie at the same time. The edamame is great with a couple beers during the viewing and all the other food I saw looked good as well. You HAVE to arrive 30 minutes early or you may not sit with your group. Especially on weekends. Quality establishment.

Cinebistro is 10 times better than this place. It is unorganized as hell. They are more prepared for the crowds. This place? Nope. This is just a cinema café with a fancy name. Compared to what I’m used to with cinebistro in Hampton. The only thing that this place has going for it, is that the food is actually pretty good. Other than that, I will not returning to this place

I just wanted to a post an update. There is a discount on movie tickets for military for evening shows, but popcorn was free only for memorial day weekend. We’ve been a few more times since my post, and we all love going, especially my daughter! The only thing I wish they would do is have assigned seating! But even without it, it’s still an awesome place!

The popcorn was really cool, in temperature, so we had to send I back to get a hotter one, which didn’t end up being so hot either. The set up was ok, I ordered the NY cheesecake, and I’m from Brooklyn, so suffice it to say I was disappointed. But it wasn’t a terrible experience. 3 stars affi dem.

Stumbled upon this place as we live in south VB. Matinée prices, full bar, traffic menu and super clean bathrooms! Spacious seating, little candles for our table flagging our table for our upcoming burger. Buttery hot popcorn & fresh hoppy IPA. WHAT a way to spend a rainy Sunday.

Lived up to my expectations. I have never been to a move theater like this. I enjoyed having someone take my order right from the movie seat and staff was friendly and service was fast. It was fairly empty, probably because we attended the 12:20 showing. We ordered nachos, super delicious! I give it five stars for the experience, good food and good service.

Awesome movie theatre concept… watch a movie and eat a real meal at the same time?! Amazing. Came here to catch a movie during the week and surprised it wasn’t a bit more crowded. The place was clean, comfortable(seats are super comfy), and screen quality was big and up to date. The food stand attached to each seat does not get in the way. Service was spot on and the staff was friendly. Stop by if you want to dine and watch a movie… I definitely enjoyed it.

Not sure what to really say here. The seating is better then cinema café, but the prices aren’t by a long shot. One of ny issues is i paid $ 8 for a large popcorn with no refills. Thats crazy… Then a large soda is like $ 8 and no refills. I also don’t like how u have to leave the movie to go order food at the bar. During this time you can miss something good. At cinema café the waiter comes to you. This place is pretty clean though inside and the employees are cool. Im just not feeling the prices for such little service. I only would come back if I was in the area of Laskin, other then that, I’m going back to Cinema Café! This place isn’t worth the drive all the way to the darn oceanfront for what i got. It is what it is!

Date night, alright! The BF and I came for the first time on a double date to see«Sex Tape» with Cameron Diez. It was a Wednesday night, so it wasn’t too crowded but busy. I am glad I looked online first because you need arrive @ least 20 minutes before hand if you plan on being served in the theatre. I understand this policy and agree. No one wants someone interrupting the movie. The interior was recently remodeled by a local architecture group called RRMM. The design was well executed and I love that they have a bar. Overall a very clean facility. The movie ticket prices are what you would pay @ a normal theatre. We ended up ordering a pitcher of budlight, a BBQ chicken pizza and an order of nachos. Everything was good but I feel like it’s slightly over priced. By the time we left we spent almost 60+ dollars. Def not somewhere you can go on a cheap date… overall great time but it makes me appreciate the value of some of their competitors.

Darn, double darn! I was so excited about getting an invite from a friend to enjoy an afternoon movie at this beach cinema place I have heard so much buzz about. It was an utter disappointment. As I write this I am still shocked that it really could of been that bad. The Beach Movie Bistro is located on Laskin Rd. in between Hilltop and the Ocean Front. Signage is wonderful, you will not miss it on the Southside of the road. The building was previously a movie house, but I am unsure how long BMB has been operating out of it. The parking lot seems adequate to accommodate it’s movie goers. I found the lot and sidewalk clear which is always a great start. Ticketing was easy, but not a lot of personality from the person at the counter. Tickets ran $ 18 for one adult, two children. Menus are provided for you to begin to review. Once inside it most certainly gave me a Cinema Café kind of feel with the bar in the front and tables to eat. I believe they have four theaters. I was impressed with the lobby’s aesthetics, it looked upscale which was what I expected. It’s not large, so I assume when there are big crowds it’s hard to move around. Restrooms are up front and well appointed with newer fixtures and slate tile. Soap and towels were present. The experience with the food service prior to the movie was lousy, or should I say flat out miserable. I came with my two children who sat with two other friends. The adults sat in front as seating ran out. We quickly got orders in since it was 20 minutes prior to the show starting. I do know with a movie/food place like this it’s wise to come early. Allow extra time to order and get settled. So if your use to coming in 5 minutes before the flick commences I would not recommend it here. Orders taken and around 15 minutes later(10 min prior to the movie) food came out haphazardly. They evidently don’t keep track of where food orders go, such as stations. So waiters brought food out, had no idea where it went and walked around asking people. Drinks forgotten, straws forgotten, for goodness sakes a fork forgotten for a salad. A second round of popcorn came out which we did not order, they just gave it to us… but it shows you the level of incompetence with this crew. It got down right comical at a point. Food ordered was Cheeseburger, pulled pork, chicken fingers mozzarella sticks and popcorn. According to kids they enjoyed their meals. I liked my pulled pork, but have had much better for the price. Total was $ 52 which seemed excessive to me. Also just try to balance two entrees and drinks on that tiny table in front of you, not an easy task my friend. Something that is different from those used to Cinema Café is when to pay. Here you take care of bill up front as opposed to the end. So at BMB once your food arrives, bill is taken care of and you never see a server again. So no follow ups on drinks refills, napkins, or any other needs. To be this is not a good model, but it obviously has worked and others have been satisfied based better than average write ups. I probably could have dropped this review to a 1, service was that disappointing. However, the facility was clean, the furniture and fixtures were nice. Food was good and flowed out of the kitchen in a timely manner. Is it possible this was just a bad day for the wait staff crew,. yes! I would be willing to try again, but am in no rush to drop that kind of coin.
