Cornerstone Used Books

This review is for online services only — I haven’t been to the store itself.
I purchased a book online in late December via Cornerstone’s website. I had not received the book by mid-​January, so emailed them, figuring that due to bad weather/​the holidays, it was delayed. I received an email the next day saying someone would be in touch soon about the status of my order.
Nobody was ever in touch. I emailed two more times over the next two weeks with no response.
I finally called the store and spoke to a woman who said that 1) a lot of the books online have already been sold but the website isn’t updated (uh…) and 2) that she couldn’t help me but would have someone who could get back to me. As a side note, she called me ‘babe’ at one point, which I did not like. I know I have a lovely phone voice, but keep it professional, stranger.
Anyhow, that was 8 days ago and nobody has been in touch.
Maybe this bookstore is super adorable in person, but my experience as an online buyer has been terrible. Maybe they shouldn’t sell online at all.

A decent enough used bookstore in Villap Parks town square. Right accross from McDonald’s I have found some decent books here.

My kids and I adore Cornerstone. They ask to go there all the time but I have to limit our visits there because it can get expensive. I feel that ½ of cover price is a bit pricey for paperbacks that are bent and/​or have torn covers. Also, I wish their frequent buyer cards gave credit for the amount of your purchases instead of simply giving you one stamp per visit. I asked once for some popular children’s books and put my name on a waiting list. My kids were so excited and were anxious for a call from the store when the books were in stock again. However, on our next visit when I inquired about the same titles we were informed that those books come in and are bought quickly. Not sure why we weren’t called? Guess putting our name down was a waste of time so that was frustrating. Otherwise, their employees are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I recommend the store to friends all the time.

I love the idea of used books for sale and at half off list price.
I believe they rotate books on a weekly basis.
If you cant find a book, ask they do have a storage room.
I’m A funny guy. In a sense, I adore hardcover books I will not buy paperback. So, in my tiresome search i hardly find what i would love to buy.
I do visit the store weekly and maybe buy a book or two once a month.
So, who would like to join me on one of my weekly visit to this gem?

This place has a TON of books! I walked in the door not expecting a whole lot and was pleasantly surprised. They also have a section of vinyl records with some hidden, older gems. The staff is very nice and helpful. I asked the lady at the counter if they had any Star Wars books because I could not find any on the shelves. She laughed and told me to wait a moment and went to the back room. Apparently they had 3 large boxes full of them and just didn’t have any room for them. Most of the books were in really good condition and they are decently priced. We purchased 5 books for $ 20. I definitely recommend checking this place out unless you absolutely require brand new books.

WOW! What a great little find! Being an avid reader, and poor as a church mouse finding a used book store so close to home was an amazing thing. They have tons of books to choose from, their prices are fair, the staff is absolutely great and it is easy to get to, with their own parking lot. I agree with the other reviewer… check out some books from here, and then go get a cup of joe or tea in my case from the coffee shop and a pastry from Kuppies, another great place!

I really loved this book store, they have a great selection and a very friendly staff. It’s a great place to browse the shelves, and it’s a very welcoming environment. After buying a book, check out Funky Java Café in the same parking lot.
