My experience at A & A Pawn & Jewelry was awful. I would give this place no stars if possible. I stopped by while shopping an old engagement ring around to various gold and jewelry buyers. The center stone on the ring was 1.03 carats and GIA certified. I had brought several written offers along with me as well, and was looking to sell the ring to the highest offer. As I entered the store, I was glared at by a female behind the counter and a male smoking a cigarette in a lawn chair on the showroom floor. When I presented the certificate to the woman at the shop, she seemed extremely confused at what I presented her, laughed, and asked if I would like to purchase a ring instead. I reassured her that I had written offers in hand, and would like to sell the ring today. She offered me $ 400, which was far below the $ 2600, $ 2750, and $ 2900 offers I presented. She then proceeded to tell me that the GIA certificate was for the ring and not for the stone(which is not how a diamond certification company even accepts stones). In her mind, the 1.03 carat weight that was certified from GIA was for the total ring carat weight. She claimed that the center stone was no more than 0.50 carats. I attempted to explain this misconception to the woman(which I really should not have had to do at a jewelry buying establishment); however, the gentleman who was seated in the lawn chair quickly jumped from his seat, got in my face, and started to cuss at me. I quickly gathered my items and headed for the door, all the while I was followed by the same gentleman shouting obscenities. I certainly hope that these employees were not the owners of this shop, for if they are, they should be reprimanded by their superiors. If not, than this place is the most unprofessional business I have ever visited. Regardless, I will never be back, and I highly encourage all reading to do the same. Just down the street, there are several other shops that were much more helpful, and I highly suggest using anyone but these losers.
