Went in to get some casual trousers, they were on sale at a different location over the weekend, but they didn’t have my size in stock. I went in yesterday to get my size(apparently sale ended Sunday and I went in next day), and they refused to honor the discount. Not only was the sales associate nasty, but she never offered any other alternative to help. I’m sorry, as much as I loved the pants, $ 89.50/pair is too steep for two pairs without some sort of discount. I will not shop in this location again, as the sales associate was so rude and did absolutely zero to help. Tysons or Old Town from now on!

I’ve always been curious about Talbots since their quality of fabrics seemed better than Ann Taylor. I decided to come in here on a whim after I walked out of Ann Taylor. It took a few minutes of adjustment and browsing before I picked up something but the fabrics in here for petite professional clothes… just feels so substantial. Moreso than at AT. As soon as the SA spotted me she came up to greet me and asked me «What brings me in here today». Well yes the obvious answer is that I’m shopping but its a good question because it allows her to help me in a very specific way: expanding my professional wardrobe. I gave her the short spiel and she immediately helped me with the stuff I had pulled off myself and put them in the dressing room for me and told me to keep shopping. Awesome! How awesome is that? Thats like Nordstrom level customer service! When I finally got into the dressing room I was… taken back because it was huge and had plush carpets, nice big mirrors. Your individual dressing room is also pretty damn spacious with racks to hang your stuff and and a wide plush seat. Pretty damn nice for just a mall store. Then they asked me how things were fitting, gave me feedback, got other pieces for me as requested and also whatever they thought would work. As for the fit, it’s a shame their sizes don’t run smaller. They should introduce a 00P for those who are very slim and short. I’m not that slim so I can fit into the size they already offer for pants. Their smallest size for tops is a PP which is one size down from SP. The PP seems to run quite large actually. It was a bit looser than I would have liked, especially when I got home and held it up to my other shells, there was a lot of extra fabric sticking out the sides. Despite the size issue, I’m still keeping it because the fabric was so nice and substantial and its ok to wear it a bit more loser than skimming. So in addition to the top I got a pair of pants and the SA helped me purchase 2 other pants to be shipped(free) from other stores. Didn’t think I would like Talbots; they seemed kind of granny to me before but maybe my sense of style has evolved now(although I think its more likely that they’re doing the modern/contemporary traditional look a lot better these past few years). This store should definitely be a stop if you’re in the mall and need good quality petite work clothes.

One of the few that carries women’s sizes. I have had great luck there, ask for Wendy or Rippy! This last trip I was able to score three blazers and a sweater for under $ 350. Be sure to ask when the next sale are because they are more than happy to hold items for you.
