The service is always consistent and the food is great. Try the red curry chicken and the fried rice they are very good together. They have a lot of good stuff to drink as well.

The rating is pretty spot on. I had the drunken noodles and it tasted like something I can make at home. Very basically seasoned home food, which isn’t bad, but it’s not something I want to pay top dollar and tip for. They really need to up the flavor considering there’s a lot of Thai competition in the area. Not much else to say. Hopefully Pilin Thai can somehow reinvigorate people’s interest in their cuisine.

I met a colleague here for lunch, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn’t look like much — kind of a dingy, cramped little space in a busy strip mall. But the food was surprisingly light, yet flavorful and filling. I had the red curry chicken with bamboo shoots, and it was super delicious! They need to spruce up the inside a bit and get a fountain soda machine, though. The food, however, is some of the tastiest Thai I’ve ever had!

There’s something so nice about the way they make the panang curry here. It’s just really different from how the other Thai restaurants in Tysons Corner make it but in a good way. I’d have given this restaurant five stars, but the ambiance, lack of delivery, closing at 9, and menu variety make it hard to access sometimes.

You can just look at the stars and tell what you’re going to get yourself into. Went here for a quick dinner and decided to get pad Thai. It was dry and bland. Beef was way over cooked. I was actually reading the reviews while eating which I should of done before I even came in. Probably wouldn’t come here again judging just by their pad thai

Probably one of the worst Thai Restaurants I’ve been in. We just wasted $ 40 on big bowl noodle soup. Smh

My coworkers and I came here for a quick lunch stop, as it was only a couple minutes drive from the office. The venue is small, seating a maximum of about 20 – 25 people. It’s not the traditional sit down restaurant where a waiter serves you. You order at the window and once seated, they will bring you your meal. I started with the seafood tom yum soup with chicken satay appetizers, and the shrimp and scallop special for the entrée. The soup was comparable to other restaurants I’ve been to, and the shrimp /scallop entrée was also comparable. Nothing special that really jumped out, but overall a good meal. Best, Charlie

Never thought a thai restaurant could mess up drunken noodles… but then I had an opportunity to try this hole-in-the-wall. I couldn’t belive the«skinny — fettuccine looking» noodles on my plate were accompanied by soy sauce and warm water. The seafood($ 13.95) had exactly 3 shrimps, 2 scallops, and 2 muscles… let’s not forget the cold pile of half cooked white rice. So if you suffer from a low blood pressure then I would strongly recommend this place for if nothing else it would give your heart the boost only medication can bring…

I was looking for a quick bite and was a little skeptical seeing the restaurant from outside. But this place serves solid thai food. Food is cheap and food came out quick. I had the basil fried rice and drunken noodles. Portions are adequate and flavor is just right. The drunken noodles are sliced thin compared to other places and I think it’s better that way. Would come again.

This is one of those tiny gems I never would have known about if it weren’t for my coworker. He took a group of us here for lunch and I ordered pad Thai and spring rolls. Others ordered chicken and shrimp in peanut sauce, basil chicken fried rice, the big noodle bowl, and spicy chicken. There is interesting painting in here and the different colors add to its charm. During the winter I suggest sitting in the rear the heavy steel tables are loud to move so don’t bring more than 6 people here if you don’t want to make too big of scene. There is one single occupancy restroom and you can refill your own water. The cooler has Arizona glass bottles particularly the energy herbal tonic, my favorite. The spring rolls came apart in my mouth in chunks and the pad Thai was a little sweeter and less memorable than I am used to. But otherwise this is a great lunch spot solo, for two, or takeout.

This is the real deal. Hole in the wall style kind of restaurant, been coming here for years. The owners make home style thai. I recommend the 3 flavor chicken, the pad thai(they make the best), and the CHICKENBASILISTODIEFOR. Also, best mango and sticky rice dessert.

I get my take out dinner from here once in a while and I have tried most of the food here. This is a fast food Thai restaurant. I rate food here 7.5 out of 10. Out of menu items I like spicy chicken, I usually ask for mild spice and PADTHAI, this is what I love. Food is delicious and wait time is usually 10 minutes which I usually walk and window shop the store along the strip mall. Price is OK and food portion is generous. people working here are polite and friendly. I would have given them five stars if they do not mess my order time to time. When I ask or order less SPICY, I mean less SPICY and not opposite.

I had spicy chicken with peanut sauce on the lunch menu. The flavor is unremarkable and the chicken is dry with no flavor. I saw whole peanuts but doesn’t look like or tasted like peanut sauce. The only consolation was the Napa cabbage was fresh and crispy. The service was horrible! This may be a to-go only place. I will not come here again!

Busy for lunch because it is fantastic! Quick service restaurant. Try the three season catfish! Delicate crispy batter fried catfish in a spicy clear red sauce, served with white rice. About a 6 on the heat scale. Enjoy!

Terrible service. Both the waiter and owner are so rude and short. My chicken was not fully cooked all the way through and when I went to open the chopsticks from the bag they were used with food stains and mouth marks. The owner responded to that«I have nothing to say.» I was shocked at his response and said I’d just might call fairfax county healthy officials to which his wife chimed in «call them we don’t care.» The waiter is this older Thai man who has no patience and no heart. The food isn’t even good. Don’t go here.

After reading all the reviews I decided to try and I am really glad I did. The food is hot, fresh, and did not disappoint. The drunken noodles with chicken were great and I especially enjoyed the Kanom Jeeb, flavorful dumplings as an appetizer. Finish it with fresh Mango with sticky rice and you have a great Thai meal.

Ughhhh, so $ 15 down the drain, the food smelled great but the flavor was absent!!! The spice was decent true to Thai food but that’s it, I ordered the«Basil Thai Fried rice w/Seafood» the seafood was overlooked and rubbery and bland, the rice was bland, the veggies were oily and blandddddd. I gave two stars because the staff were very warm and welcoming.

We stopped by Pilin Thai yesterday. I ordered the PADSEEEW and my husband ordered the PADTHAI. We were there around 1:00 p.m. so it got full quickly with professionals coming from nearby offices/buildings. Advice – get there earlier or later to beat the lunch rush. The service was very fast. The place was a bit small so as the line got longer it snaked and crowded the small tables in the front. Plus: * Fast service So I am writing this solely on my experience with my dish and perhaps it’s different for folks who try other dishes. My PADSEEEW: *extremely oily I’ve had this dish in other Thai places in Maryland, California and VA but I wasn’t much of a fan of how they delivered. I didn’t taste the sauce and felt more like I was tasting fried broccoli, noodles and meat cooked in a lot of oil. I never got to fully taste the sauce this dish is known for. I had the chance to try my husband’s dish too and I liked it slightly better than mine, but was also a bit bland.
