This store is wonderful. First, the staff there is great. I have worked with the same person both times that i have visited (blonde hair, nose ring). She has used her knowledge to make excellent suggestions and is supportive, but not pushy – which is something that really sets this store apart. Can’t find what you are looking for? They will help you look, check the back, and offer to call their other stores to check stock with a cheerful attitude!
Last time I was here, I wasn’t sure what I wanted. I probably tried on 15+ pairs of shoes and ended up buying one pair. After trying them on again at home, I decided they weren’t for me and was able to return them (30-​day return policy). No problem! I purchased another pair when I went to return them.
Their prices are on par with the Birkenstock USA and
. I think most pairs of Birkenstocks go for $ 120-​$ 140. Many pairs are on sale (10% off), and they advertise in the Clipper Magazine (check your mail: 10% off purchases under $ 150, 15% off purchases $ 150 – 250, 20% off $ 250+). All things considered, you will probably break even or save by shopping here. I purchased a pair of Birkenstock Boston clogs and a small item for $ 128 – yes, that includes tax! Right now, these shoes alone retail for $ 140 on the Birkenstock USA website and
–not including tax!
Montague & Son also carries a variety of other «comfort wear» shoes (Dansko, Naot, etc.). They do have certain colors and styles on sale for various brands, which can be anywhere from 20−30% off. Note: these are final sale.

The store has a great sales staff. If you don’t see what you want in certain brands, they can order it for you. They also have an offsite shoe repair. I highly recommend the store.
