Good Southern Hot Plate Lunch Buffet. I had a perfectly fried Pork chop, and some Killer Cabbage. IF you Find yourself in Concordia Parish at lunch time, make sure to stop in!

Local café full of local flavor. Think ‘your parents sitting around drinking coffee while you were in cloth diapers 1970’s’ kinda place. Eat what they ate like club sanwich or Spanish Omelette. You’ll just be missing the jukeboxes in each booth to play with!

Good comfort food. Home cooked style meals. The breakfast there is pretty decent when I was there. It’s been a while since I’ve been there but they always seem packed every evening I pass by

Horrible! Now it’s been maybe couple years but I just realized I never the review I had meant to. Walking in it looks like your usual trashy truck stop diner. Compete with vinyl table cloths! The food was processed and/or frozen. Now once upon a time inked that sorta stuff but I eat a lot healthier now. And while I don’t mjnd rating at dives or haut plain laid back places(hey I’m a county girl!) I do expect clean. Funny thing is so many people(family and friends/locals) rave on it! I was faily new to the area so I finally have it a whirl. and I never went baxk. If I want frozen shrimp I can go to publix and buy some awesome frozen shrimp for cheaper! And eat it in my clean house! I will say this… I had a salad and the veggies were all very fresh vibrant and delicious! When I met my hubby there in Vidalia(we since moved) he mentioned going there too ONCE! Haha!!! So yeah we much preferred going across the river to kne of the many great restaurants there!!!

This place is comfort food for the traveler with excellent service. The décor is a bit confusing, but when traveling, I’m not there to ‘look’ at walls and surroundings. If décor is your thing then you will be driven batshit crazy. A nice bar was covered with some sort of candle thingy-ma-bob. I was there for the food and it didn’t disappoint. As someone who hates buffets I tend to stay clear of them so I ordered from the menu. Its hard to mess up a roast beef Poboy and I will say that mine was delicious and fresh. The only complaint was that I am used to shaved wet roast beef mounded on but this was sliced kinda thick with the gravy on the side. However it was delicious. My wife wife ordered the shrimp Poboy and it was outstanding. There were so many friend plump shrimp that there was no place on the bun. They were hanging off the sides. She is a shrimp lover and was extremely happy. Thanks for making the ride to Baton Rouge much easier. On our return trip, we decided to drive straight through to the next town. We did wave when we passed.

I have been to Nikki’s four times and was very impressed on each. The first time I had the blackened broiled catfish topped with Crawfish Étouffée. Amazing. On my second visit I had the house favorite, Hamburger Steak smothered with brown gravy, mushrooms and onions. Out of this universe. I have also tried the cheeseburger po boy and the fried catfish /frog leg platter. All of the food is fresh and service is wonderful. Value for your money is tops.

I am honored to write the first review of Nikki’s. It was happenstance about how we find out about Nikki’s — we managed to get a bad rental car in New Orleans, which resulted in a flat tire in Natchez, Mississippi, which resulted in my husband hanging out at the tire place. A local told him about Nikki’s and we thought we would try it out. Nikki’s is just over the bridge from Natchez, and is home to some really good southern cookin’ and with some cajun thrown in as well. It’s located on the main street over the bridge, and buildings all seem the same color, it’s easy to drive by; but look for the Budget Inn and they are right beside it. The lunch menu seems small; my recommendation is to just ignore it and cut to the chase — the southern lunch buffet, which is served daily, for $ 10.99 including dessert. «And aver’thins different avery day» the waitress told me. We happen to hit it on a Sunday, where fried chicken is the main draw. We tried ALOT of fried chicken on our Southern road trip and I think Nikki’s is the best. Crisp, puffy coating, and seasoned just right. Skip over the veggies if you’re used to «Yankee vegetables» and concentrate on the cheesy potatoes(mmmmmmmmmmm) corn dressing, creamed corn and fried okra. There is a salad bar which I grudgingly picked from to make sure I had some kind of green in my lunch. Wash it down with a litre sized glass full of sweet tea(I recommend half sweet and half unsweet if you’ve got yankee taste buds). We went back for breakfast a couple of days later, and weren’t disappointed. I think four choices from their list for $ 7.99 that will keep you going until 2 days from now. I chose eggs, smoked sausage, hash browns and a biscuit. The biscuit was pillowy-soft and melt-in your mouth piled with strawberry preserves. Smoked sausage was a flavor party in your mouth; my only complaint was it was deep-fried and it’s probably better just grilled. Nikki’s is family-owned and the waitresses have been there for years. Lovely people, fast and professional service, and just super friendly –on our second time — «Ya’ll came back! ya’ll just sit right down» and menus appear magically in front of you. Yes, there is a mysterious bullet hole in one of the windows; yes, most of the clientelle wear camouflage and trucker hats. But the food’s good. Real good!(Fried chicken day is Wednesdays and Sundays)
