El Taco y La Pupusa

I ordered some Carne Asada Fries. They where «okay». The fries where kinda thin and damp, but my little brother ordered a cheese enchilada and he loved it. He ordered another after finishing the first.

This review is for the restaurant currently at this address, although it goes by a different name these days. In any case STAY AWAY.
Being a white male, there are very few times in my life where I have been discriminated against or treated poorly because of my ethnicity. Sadly, this restaurant is staffed with rude, RACIST and intolerant staff. The woman working the front has ZERO customer service skills.
I came in wanting to get a few pupusas. I was greeted (and I use this term loosely) by an older woman who kind of gave me a dirty look when I came in. I asked her about what types of fillings she had in the Pupusas and she couldn’t speak a single work of English.
No problem, I thought, «I can speak enough spanish to place a food order» so I attempt to ask the question in Spanish.
We weren’t really communicating very well and she wasn’t even trying to be nice. She just had this really mean and sour attitude the entire time. Maybe she had a bad day, but she didn’t treat the other people in the restaurant this way and I felt like it was because I was a «gringo».
Eventually I managed to place my order for a pupusa with chicharrones y queso, although it never was made clear to me if they offer them with any other fillings.
When I received the food the woman still had a cold, not even friendly demeanor. I thanked her and she barely muttered «your welcome» as I walked out the door.
The pupusa itself was just okay. No complaints but no compliments either. They make them WAAAAAY better at Pancho’s a mile or so away.
Between the mediocre food and the rude and probably RACIST employee (who I believe was the owner’s wife) I will never be coming back.
