This campground was awesome and just what we needed for a trip to the Minnesota Renaissance Festval. Tent sites were without water and electric, but very very well kept and clean with few rocks on the lawn. Staff was friendly an helpful. They offered to let us take wood and pay in the morning when we got in late. Latrines were the cleanest I have seen in a campground, flushing or not. I would definitely recommend this ground and visit again.

This is a lovely campground, close to the cities(very close to the U of M Arbouretum grounds). They have a small but well maintained beach on a quiet lake. There’s a playground and some walking trails. Check the map to pick your site. Some portions of the campground allow dogs, some areas host RVs with generators that can be annoying. No electricity in the tenting area and no running water(but the outhouses are very nice). There is a water pump just outside the main enterance, so you’ll want to bring jugs or buckets for clean up water, and your own drinking water(the well water is pretty yellow). Sites included a nice picnic table, fire ring, and a large built in BBQ. There is a nice nature center and a historic house close by, which are worth a visit if you have kids, or need some time in AC. :)
