Fran’s Underground Bakery & Cafe

I work in the building and eat here all the time. I think I’ve tried the entire menu and love everything Fran makes. It’s convenient, quality tasty food at a fair price. Easy parking is a plus in the village if you park in the back. If you have not eaten lunch here your missing out. Oh she makes a great breakfast sandwich too as I often forget to eat running out my door to work.

Difficult to find. Suite 106 at 10 East Main St in Victor requires a trip down a winding flight of stairs. Not much in the way of signage outside, but the building is basically at the crossroads of Main and School St on the Southeast corner, so it’s centrally located anyway. Had a really nice roast beef French dip sandwich which has a soft roll texture on the outside, but insides had been grilled, which gave the sandwich a nice unexpected crunch of buttery goodness, added to the tasty roast beef and cheese. Beef broth was perfect for dipping. Not too salty. Enjoyed a cup of the home made Golden mushroom soup, which had a rich brown broth and plenty of sliced mushrooms. I redeemed my check-​in reward for a tasty peanut butter cup cookie also. Very friendly service and really cozy spot to relax on a cold, wet day. Fireplace with several leather chairs around a small table, and plenty of other tables around with regular seating. Nice place.

I found this place on Unilocal and decided what the hell, I’ll swing in. The menu looked great, but I really wanted their smoothie with spinach. It was mixed perfectly and quite tasty. But the best part was, when the owner saw me trying to check in on Unilocal,she was so thrilled she gave me cookies! We will go back soon!

Ate breakfast here. Great staff, good food, clean place. A little hard to find, the word «underground» should be interpreted literally in the name of this place.

I have been to Fran’s three times. The food is amazing. Everything is super fresh. My favorite item on the mend is the clam chowder. Their is huge chunks of clam in a broth that is clearly made from scratch.
