Blue Toad Hard Cider

Located in an old boxcar alongside the Auburn Rail Trail, Blue Toad offers up tasty ciders in a bright and friendly atmosphere.
The Victor outpost of Blue Toad Cider is located in an old train! I love trains, so of course I had to try this out (for you railfan geeks, it’s an old Lehigh Valley 50′ boxcar with clamshell end doors, and the old New York Central freight house is right next door). Painted bright blue, you can’t miss the location coming up Railroad Street from the village of Victor.
While you might expect the inside of a train to feel cramped, the interior is bright, with décor that includes old road signs (TANK CROSSING? Where did you find THAT?) and some railroad memorabilia. A clean, spacious bathroom is located to the rear of the tasting room. A small tasting bar is located up front by the entrance, while some tables and bench seats surround the room.
Two varieties of hard apple cider are always available, Amber and Blonde. A third sample is available mixing the two called a «Dirty Blonde.» They also have seasonal varieties, but they had just ran out during our visit. A beer or two from Twisted Rail in Canandaigua are sometimes available if cider isn’t your thing.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and don’t be surprised if you alternately find you have the entire place to yourself one minute then sharing it with 20 new friends the next. Visitors seem to come in waves. Football was on the TV on the Sunday we visited so you could keep up with the score while you sample.

I came here one Saturday afternoon a while back, and it’s a cool little place! The cider was amazing (I recommend the blonde), and staff was nice as well! The cider was different from others that I have had before, but in an incredibly good way. The flavor was FANTASTIC I plan on getting many growlers throughout the rest of the summer from here.

Everything was fantastic here. The staff is awesome and incredibly friendly, the aesthetics kick butt, and best of all the cider is awesome and very fairly priced.

2^nd tasting location for the this great local hard cider! Location is in blue train car next to Mickey Finn’s — not far from 1 – 90 in Victor — about 5 minutes from Eastview Mall. The cider here is so clean, crisp and love the fizz. They have a blonde and amber varieties and currently they have a Local Beer on tap along side a seasonal hard cider which is pineapple now. I loved the pineapple (well I love all of them)! I found it a little less sweet than the blonde but with a subtle pineapple flavor. You can get a pint of any for $ 4 and 3÷6÷10 Tastings. The 3 flavor tasting is $ 5 — Great Valve. This location also has locally sourced cheese, meats and mustards to snack on with your cider — we didn’t try any of these.
They have a digital punch card Buy 9 Get 1 Growler Free deal. The location is perfect — super low key, friendly service. They also have partnered with Schott’s Cider and carbonated it so you can bring the kids, those friends not interested in alcohol or DD’s and they will still be happy.
