delicious food all around! we had out of town guests visiting and we had heard about The Ridge’s excellent burgers so we decided to give it a try! everyone in our group was very pleased. we tried the Jam Gouda burger, Patty Melt, chorizo tacos, and the chorizo burger. for appetizer we had the fries pimento balls, which were spicy and bacon flavored! the prices were reasonable, not terribly cheap but not overpriced either for the quality of the food. the atmosphere is super causal, great place for Friday night grub! we’ll go back to try the other items that looked so yummy on the menu!

This place is great for a casual family friendly environment! The food is great! The staff is the best in town and don’t be surprised if they remember your name the next time you come in!

I went to The Ridge with a friend before a VHHS sporting event. I appreciate that it is a local business and that there seemed to be many«regulars» who knew the staff! The Ridge shares a large parking lot with the other businesses in the area. The servers were nice and attentive throughout our meal. I had a chili cheese dog(without onions) with a side of the bacon mashed potatoes. I know it wasn’t the healthiest of options(the menu is robust with many options that could be considered traditional American fare), but it was very delicious and much-needed to celebrate making it to Friday! My friend had the shrimp and grits and loved those also. I enjoyed my time at The Ridge and will be back!

Ridge Eat & Drink continues to impress. I am in town about once a year and this place is my go to bar. The staff is great and remembers me even though I stop in only a few times a year. This place is a hidden gem in the Birmingham area and I would highly recommend you stop in for a drink and great food if you are within 25 miles of the place.

Shhhhhh. best kept secret! Ok, so what could appear to be a pub comes off as a gastro experience! Will was a great navigator through the menu. The ribs were meaty, perfect seasoning and ample. We reached onion ring heaven with their crispiness! My burger was flavourful and dressed perfectly. Usually burger rolls are there to contain the fixings. This roll actually added to the burger experience as it was a potato roll and provided a welcome addition of sweetness. Fries were housemade as were the onion rings… fresh, crisp. Not masked by over frying taste. The team was awesome. Will, Derrick, Saheed all worked like well-oiled machines ensuring fast delivery of the dinners. Next time, we will try the jam gouda burger with the bacon jam and smoked gouda cheese… lores you in with its sweetness and ends with its smokeness! It truly is «Cheers with Family»!!!

I love this place! My favorite is the Cahaba Quesadilla, it is delish! On the spicy side so if that is not your thing, I would try something else. I have also had there salads which were great. We went there today while they were serving brunch and my husband got the hash and he loved it! He also loves the burgers!

We had such high hopes for this place. It has many great reviews and I love little hometown places with great food and solid client bases, but we felt like more of an encumbrance than customers. Walked in the door and there was nowhere for a party of 3. Not that big a deal, as it IS a small place, and I like to see small businesses busy and doing well, but there was no hostess or even a sign to tell us whether to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. We chose to seat ourselves at a 2-seater with an additional chair. Little tiny girl brought menus to the table and a little later the server arrived at the table to take our drink orders. She brought them quickly. And then we sat. And sat. And sat. We finally ordered appetizers(though we were probably ready to order our entrees, too, at that point) and we again waited. And waited. The Fried Pimento Cheese balls came out with buffalo wing saue and some variation of ranch on the side. Tasty enough, but they would have been a lot better if they had been hot. As it was, they were barely warm. We all ordered burgers, and my faith was temporarily restored. I got the Mushroom Bleu burger… the bleu cheese sauce was, actually, lovely. I’m not even sure what the bleu cheese was mixed with to make the spread, but it was mild, rich and delicious. The mushrooms appreared to be canned, but were fine. The burger itself was cooked perfectly which, for some reason, is hard to come by these days. The bun, also, was very tasty… could have been homemade, but I can’t vouch for that. The hubs had a good, old-fashioned cheeseburger, and was equally pleased. Our sone got the Jamn Gouda burger, which had bacon jam and shredded smoked gouda cheese. Again, the burger was cooked perfectly, and the combination of the bacon jam and cheese would likely have been phenomenal-with about half the amount of bacon jam. Pretty easy fix, but doesn’t seem like you should have to scrape stuff off to make it edible. Hubs got fries on the side which were also cold, I got sweet potato chips which were obviously homemade, but most were undercooked and floppy. This was, maybe the biggest disappointment, asthey crunchy ones were super dipped in the extra dish of bleu cheese sauce they gave me. For dessert, we got the fried cookie dough balls. Now, consistency isn’t usually a big sticking point for me, but it was this time. They were literally balls of chocolate chip cookie dough dipped in batter and deep fried with chocolate syrup drizzle and powdered sugar. These did happen to be hot, but when I bit into one, it was, well, confusing to my mouth. The cookie dough was about half cooked, so it was a bit spongy, a little tough and a little chewy. The atmosphere is family friendly, despite the Guns and Ammo inspirted décor, which is nice, but it goes over the top when there is a constant flow of small kids running all over(and I do mean ALL over-between tables, in and out of the kitchen, etc) AND bounceing a super ball across the restaurant. While I am all for the kid-friendly atmosphere, I think the line should be drawn when the clientele can’t enjoy them meal for fear they will have a rubber ball land squarely in their plate.

Read a friends review and decided to try this place out. The burgers are in fact amazing. I had a plain cheeseburger. My son got the Jamn Gouda burger. My wife got the Mushroom Bleu. All of our burgers were awesome. My sons was a bit heavy on the bacon jam but other then that it was great. Now the problems. We almost left it took so long to get waited on. Our 1st contact with an employee was an 8 year old girl who brought us menus. A long time later a very nice waitress got our drink order. We got the drinks fast enough but she didn’t take our food order until my drink was almost done. Our appetizer was the Fried Pimento Cheese Balls. Tasted good but barely warm. As long as we waited I’m not sure if they sat and cooled off or just aren’t hot. Like I said burgers are awesome. Fries were cold. Dessert was unimpressive with the fried cookie dough bites. Raw cookie dough in a fried she’ll just wasn’t good. I understand they want to be family friendly but people letting there kids bounce a ball around in the eating area? Also the kids kept going into the kitchen area and would sometimes serve food. I give this 2 stars for the great burgers but I won’t ever taste them again.

Pros: *The burgers are really good. They are grilled so it’s the flavor of a burger on your backyard grill without actually having to do all the work or clean up. Great meat to bun ratio and bun choice. We are burger connoisseurs and have had burgers all over the world so that’s a pretty big vote from us. * Onion rings. I’m picky, picky, picky about my onion rings. These are delicious. *All of the food that went by looked amazing. *Good selection of draught beer options(including local beer). *Our burgers initially came out wrong but they quickly fixed the issue and comped one burger. Not necessary but much appreciated. Cons: *Cold French fries. This is a crime. Fries take 3 minutes. They should always be hot. *Crappy pickles. You shouldn’t make a burger with all that effort and put a crummy, run of the mill, Vlasic dill pickle chip on it. *Really uncomfortable wooden booths. *fried Cookie dough bites are really sweet. It’s probably a personal preference though.

Love burgers? then this gem has been hiding long enough from you. I came here at the recommendation of a co worker. I was sceptical at first, since this is at the top of the stairs of a stripmall type place… The wait staff(2 folks working the lunch hour) was extremely nice and helpful. I ordered the single rebel yell burger. With what seemed like a little longer than average time the food came out… That is where my reluctancy ended!!! the burgers are SOBIG you have to cut them in half with a knife and eat it with a fork!!! The meat itself was about average, but when you add those AWESOME toppings… that is where it stopped being ordinary and became a MONSTER of a burger. The rebel yell comes with a HUGE onion ring and a fried egg on it… oh and did i mention the MOUND of bacon… for reference i can eat, and eat a good amount… i had to take half of the burger home with me… For my side, i ordered the mac and cheese!!! not your typical mac and cheese, these use a rigatoni noodle… not too bad at all. All in all i WILL return to this place to eat… Oh and just a side note, there is something that did catch my eye when entering this establishment… The sign reads, your concealed carry permit IS honored here… Was not expecting that. If you decide to go, i hope that you find this place as good as i did.

A great local dive that is a little hard to find … but once you find it, you will feel like it’s always been your neighborhood bar and grill. A great selection of beers, along with tasty entrees, makes this place a favorite for my wife and me. Try it once and I think you’ll agree.

Ordered from The Takeout online. It was awesome. We had the ribeye and filet medallions. Also had the sweet potato chips with blue cheese dressing. Omg. It was so good. It was pricey, but we had enough for two meals. The blue cheese dressing is the bomb!

What a disappointment to find that our favorite sandwich, the fried green tomato is OFF the menu! And we drove in from my business in Irondale, just to eat one. We are about to try a hamburger that our waiter has recommended, the jamb good burger– hopefully it will not disappoint. The hamburger is good, although the jam has an overpowering bacon flavoring. The sweet potato chips and blue cheese dipping sauce are still awesome.

This place is good, yet pricey. You’re certain to find something on the menu that you’d enjoy… from a variety of burgers alone, to filling-sounding sandwiches to and other Entrée’s… most of which have spiked price tags to go along with them. Atmosphere is family oriented and feels like a place that people from the neighborhood frequent and are known by name. Not only did I catch waiters stop and talk to customers off to the side quite regularly, I even spotted a chair at the bar with someone’s name spelled out in black electric tape… yes tape. I can only imagine what it’s like when this woman is there lol. My meal itself was tasty and filling. I got a «Jam Gouda» burger that had smoked gouda and a bacon jam along with a few other toppings. It was very tasty… though a tad overcooked for the medium temp I ordered. Also, instead of fries to compliment I actually ordered grits which were very good and very tasty. I also ordered one of there specialty cocktails which I wasn’t wow’d or even pleased with. Wasn’t nasty, just didn’t taste like much. The atmosphere was pretty nice. Catch some patio seating if the weather’s right. It is however, one of those awkward places that doesn’t really have a host section so you just kinda stand in the doorway until someone comes and asks you what you want lol. Other than that, no complaints. Nice restaurant décor. Can get tight inside if really busy. All in all, I would love to try this place again… not sure how I’d feel about ordering one of the pricey entrée’s from here, but definitely something else on the menu!

Looking for a local spot that has a neighborly feel? This is your place, whether you’re dining out with a date, with your family, or with a group of friends. The diverse menu promises something for a wide variety of tastes. My favorite choice continues to be their fish tacos. Just the right amount of fish, slaw and sauce. If you want to clean your whole plate, then resist ordering their tasty fried pickles! The generous platter of pickles is plenty to share with a party of 5 or 6. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a Living Social special where you can purchase a $ 25 food voucher for only $ 12. What a deal! It’s where the locals go!

Short story — Definitely give it a try. Good burgers and sandwiches, nice service, and good beer selection. I love the sweet potato chips with blue cheese dip. Do not miss the blue cheese dip! Long Story — SERVICE — I have been here about 7 times and only once did I have a server that I would rate sub par. The rest were not just OK but were really really good. FOOD — I love the burgers here. I have gotten the pimento cheese burger several times and I have gotten the Cordon Blue sandwich twice. Love them. DRINKS — OK draft beer selection, several decent wines, and a full bar. Call ahead to find out the daily drink special. ATMOSPHERE — Above average. Definitely some interesting wall art, ok patio area, a few tv’s. I have been here for a business meeting, a date, hanging out with friends, and to study for a test during the off peak hours.
