It was ridiculous. We had a piece of paper trash(fortune cookie paper) in our drink and saw it after my finished half of his cup. We called the waitress Tiffany who served us the drink, she rolled her eyes at us with such an attitude and said it was totally normal and fine. No apology… Another waitress came over later and said she would notify their boss. Nothing happened of course, besides Tiffany came to our table and asked us to pay three times. Euh… Never had such an experience in Binghamton. Surprised.

I really enjoyed the wide selection of food and desert! They also had good deals on bottled beer. buy one get one free. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the service wasn’t friendly. We had to hunt someone down for a refill and we felt rushed to leave. We just got our plates and they were already putting the bill on the table. The server kept asking us if she could take care of it for us instead of asking if we needed anything.

With a college student discount, this place is absolutely worth it. So much food reminds me of India and festivities. Having said that there’s nothing Indian about the place. From Korean to Japanese to Chinese, the cuisine is full of options and exquisite. Its so delicious that you’ll probably end up eating more. But I assure you, you won’t regret it. My new favorite in Binghamton

Not bad for the price. They have a large spread of typical Chinese buffet food. I liked the coconut shrimp, sesame chicken, teriyaki chicken, roast pork, and clams. Some of the clams weren’t cleaned well though. They also have a stir fry station that I didn’t try. The sushi selection was small and they weren’t the best quality. I usually love salmon but somehow theirs were tasteless. So don’t come here for the sushi. I had some fruit and almond cookie for dessert. Overall satisfied but not impressed by anything. The service could have been better. They didn’t clear our plates promptly and kept shouting in Chinese to each other.

Food was not bad but service was some of the worst I ever saw, and then to top it off they won’t give a military discount, but give it to college students. Anybody can go to school«really»!!!

The sushi part of this buffet was absolutely disgusting. All of the fish tasted like it was old. The Chinese items on the buffet are better but nothing special. Also the layout of the buffet is really awkward and strange. There are parts of the buffet that I am sure some people don’t even realize are there. The specific area I am talking about is the part that is tucked in the corner behind two walls that border the rest of the buffet. I am not sure if it was an afterthought but it just seems strange. If you are going here, you should stick to the hibachi or Chinese items.

This place used to be good when they first opened. Went there today the food was terrible. My son wanted a sugar donut and I was afraid to let him eat it. They were deformed, hard and looked like something they had made two days ago and decided serve again. I ate one plate of sesame chicken with rice and feel sick to my stomach. I will not be returning.

Thank you for the food poisoning Buffet Star! My friend and I enjoyed puking our brains out for the entire night after our meal. That’s the best way to end my last semester in Binghamton two days before my graduation.

We came here as a last minute decision because the event we were going to was delayed by 2 hours. It was a very by place but seated right away. They determine if a child is charged as an adult by a tape mark at the door entrance, so my son was charged as an adult and ate less than his 6 year old cousin. My son is 10. The food was buffet food, good. There were 2 adults and 3 children however, according to the tape, 4 adults and 1 child my bill was over $ 50. Will not take my children back because they just don’t eat as adults.

The idea behind a buffet is quantity over quality. This is about as close as you can get to both. Two people can go for lunch for just over $ 15. They have a cheese steak roll which is awesome. And on today’s visit they had a stir fried spicy pork that was great. Their new location is awesome, the parking lot entrance is a little awkward. Overall I would recommend it.

IT’S A BUFFET!!! WTFDOYOUPEOPLEEXPECT?! buffets are about quantity over quality, if you want fresh quality food then don’t go to a buffet, how dumb do you have to be to not understand that? i’ve been here a few times and the pizza is of course standard chinese buffet version of pizza(garbage), but really the general tsos is better than i’ve had at other places but not the best, the eggrolls are decent, sweet and sour chicken is ok, boneless ribs are ok, wings are whatever, and they have a cheesesteak roll, which is something i’ve never seen elsewhere. service varies and dessert is a crap shoot. i don’t do sushi but they offer it here so that’s a plus but i can’t tell you if it’s good or not. if you want to stuff your face with cheap chinese food then this is your place, if not, well why not?

I really don’t understand why this place is so loved by people. Well, I should admit that the price is very affordable. But there is MSG in every dish and ingredients do not seem to be fresh. Do not go if you want to have real food…

I went again today for dinner and it wasn’t as bad as my last visit. The food was the same but I got a different server this time. The waitress was very sweet and nice unlike the crazy last time who forced us to give her a tip. She forced USLASTTIME. I felt relief that we didn’t get that crazy lady and this lady was much nicer as she offered to refill our water and drinks. The bottom line is it depends on which waitress you get because if you get a crazy like I did it will definitely be a bad experience. If you get a nice waitress then this might be a trip worth while.

This place is definitely worth the money. I’ve eaten here twice and had a carry out meal once(a few minutes ago, actually!) so I felt the need to write a review. I’ve been to quite a few buffets. Besides one other buffet I’ve been to, this one has the most options. All you can eat Chinese, American, Hibachi, and Sushi for $ 10? Count me in. Fountain drinks are an extra $ 1.39 but honestly, that is still cheaper than other restaurants. The two times I’ve eaten here were similar experiences. The Chinese/American food is what you’d find at any other buffet, however, the food is always fresh. They are constantly changing out food trays and replacing them with more fresh food. It makes a big difference! For the hibachi, the meat and vegetables are pretty good(with options such as chicken, steak, shrimp, and more) and the noodles/rice were kind of bland. It’s nothing special, but at most other places, that alone would be over $ 10 so it’s worth it. The sushi is average. They also have an ice cream bar with sprinkles/nuts, another desert area, and a «boat» with salads, raw fish(like shrimp and crab legs), fruit, etc. All of these are kept fresh as well. For my first carry out, I phoned in the order of 3 maki rolls and some shrimp fried rice. I was skeptical about ordering sushi from here because I know the buffet sushi wasn’t the best. Before I even paid, the young man went over my order with me and we discovered that one of the rolls wasn’t what I asked for. The young man was very nice about it and quickly made me a new roll within 2 minutes. When I sat down to eat, I was surprised that each of the rolls had 9 pieces! It was so much food! And the sushi was sooo much better made fresh than having it wit out at the buffet. The fried rice was a little bland, but the amount of shrimp they gave me made up for it. At first I thought it was a little pricey, but for the amount of food I got, it was more than worth it! The friendliness of the staff, my carry-out experience, and the fresh food go above and beyond most other buffets I’ve been to. 4 out of 5 stars! If you’re in the area or attend BU, try this place out!

The best way to describe this buffet is simply: decent, but nothing special. My wife and I are no strangers to buffets, especially those of the Chinese variety, although this location does have other Asian dishes as well. The parking lot is large, although a bit strange as you must drive one way around the back of the building to get through. The exterior stairway and balcony are littered with the those who refuse to accept how horrible smoking is for themselves and those passing by, as well as their charred butts. The dark interior and décor may attract some while turn others away, but that should never affect a decision to go or not. You will be seated, and will pay after you finish eating. I’ve been to plenty of buffets who do the opposite — pay first, then eat and leave. Whatever works… The layout works well, although some sections of food(namely desserts and sushi) are hiding at first. The staff was friendly and attentive enough. The price is OK at $ 10 per person(not including drink), but I don’t think I eat enough for it to be worth it. The variety of food is actually really good. They are missing some staples from elsewhere, such as Peanut Butter Chicken(yes, this is a thing. An awesome one at that), but that’s not a deal breaker. The quality of the food is OK — had better, bad worse. All in all, I would come back if the price were a bit lower, but I’m not really a fan of overeating(and later purging) just to get my money’s worth, but such is the way of the buffet. Not bad, but once is enough for me.

Hands down the best buffet in the area. Not only is the food consistently fresh, but the ambiance is what stands out to me. Buffets to me are generally subpar in terms of presentation and environment, but the layout of Buffet Star is beautifully decorated and the buffets itself present the food in a very positive way. Unlike many buffets, the food looks like dishes that are served in top-of-the-end restaurants. The quality is excellent. In addition, they don’t wait until the food is completely out to replace it like many buffets. Once it reaches to a certain point, they proactively change the dish to keep the freshness consistent. Big plus in my books. If you find yourself in town visiting the nearby university, or need to take a break from a long road trip, give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

The service here was horrible, or maybe just in my case. The waitress stared into her cell phone for most of my time here and she refused to ask us if we needed anything. She was sure to mention tip was not included with the bill as soon as we sat down though. The food was, for the most part, horrible. Even the fruit tasted funny. The only thing that was mildly good was their sponge cake. I definitely would not recommend this.

Definitely the top Chinese buffet in the area. It’s a very beautiful place, with a kind of tropical/watery theme. The service was good, though limited(it is a buffet after all.) The drinks were very tasty, and reasonably priced! Most importantly though, the food was excellent, from start to finish. There were a lot of choices — this was one very expansive buffet! From the seafood spread to the custom noodle bowl, to the sushi bar and the obligatory pizza(I never understood why there always seems to be pizza). My favorite was the chocolate fountain though. Talk about a nice touch!

When we entered this restaurant, we were seated quickly. I noticed they had complimentary 2014 calendars with puppies, so I snagged one of those asap. It was a good start to the experience. We got to the table and was asked for our drink orders, then we headed over to the buffet. The food was average for a buffet, as in not great but not horrible. There’s a decent amount of variety of food, including American, some Asian, but not a lot of dessert(which is my favorite area of buffets!). They do offer dim sum items and a hibatchi area, which is unique for a buffet. I think the quality of the food is okay for the price, but I would suggest avoiding the sushi. It does not appear fresh. I was the only one from my group to eat sushi and had an upset stomach later that day,
