To night my Husband and I had the worst experience at Ricardo, The waiter was high, the meth head could not remember anything, he dropped everything… Tried to convince us the super Hot wings were mild after eating 2 wings my lips were numb … I never got my steamed broccoli, he kept saying it was coming, but never did… I ask for unsweetened tea but got sweet I told him that it was sweet he said someone must have put coke in the tea pot … Really … I just ask for water how hard is that … My Husband ordered a Reuben sandwich it was soggy and flat … And he never got his chips … The Broccoli casserole was dead cold … All in All a Terribly Regretful Experience …

Our past couple of times through Versailles we have gone downtown to a café which was okay, but not great. Now that we have stopped by Ricardos, we have a new go-to place. Food was great(Hot Brown sandwich highly recommended)! Service was good as well– not too quick or slow. Ambience is pleasant. Bar is well stocked and a wide range of options. Highly recommend as you are either in Versailles or on the bourbon trail!

There aren’t many places in Versailles that you can sit down and be waited on for lunch or dinner. The town is packed with fast food spots(yuck!). Ricardo’s is a solid place to grab lunch or dinner in town. Nothing fancy or out of the ordinary, but solid food. I enjoy the spinach salmon salad with the garlic vinaigrette dressings. The burger is solid, and most of the other things I’ve tried are too. Since I am trying to eat healthier these days, I don’t order many of the other menu items beside the salads these days. If you are looking for an affordable and solid place to eat, and you don’t want to drive into Lexington, this is one of your better options.

This is my second review and have more to add. Try the Grouper Fingers and Banana Pepper Rings for an Appetizer. The Hot Brown is really good and the Chicken Fingers are some of the best I have eaten at any Restaurant. Hands down this is the best place to eat in Versailles period.

I eat at Ricardo’s maybe once or twice a year. A few years ago, it was really good. But lately, I’ve left more and more disappointed every time. I just got back from my last visit — which will literally be my LAST visit. Like ever. I’d never had their fish & chips before, so I figured I’d give them a go today. I could be partially to blame, but I ordered their fish & chips expecting it to be roughly equivalent to any other American style fish & chips(where fries are served in place of British style«chips»). Wrong. What came out was a single piece of soggy fried fish and a handful of kettle chips, served up on a cheap aluminum tray. Not at all what I expected for $ 11.50. Once I got over the sticker shock, I noticed everything was under-seasoned. One might even say non-seasoned. Not a big deal — I can add a little salt. The kettle chips were beyond the crunchy kettle chip stage. They were so over-cooked that they had kind of a bitter, acrid aftertaste. The fish, although cooked perfectly inside was soggy on the outside. Also, it didn’t taste very fresh — probably not spoiled, but certainly not at a level of freshness I would expect for a single portion priced at $ 11.50. My wife got a wrap which she said was just so-so, and she described her side of mashed potatoes as «bland and watery.» So that’s it. I’m done. Ricardo’s has disappointed me for the last time.

Pleasantly surprised that the food was quite good. Try the fried green tomatoes– they were unique and delicious! Burger was fresh and had good flavor; Kentucky hot brown was yummy as well! Younger servers are attentive and friendly… some staff need an attitude adjustment and made for a slightly unpleasant experience. Unfortunately, the unprofessionalism and blatant rudeness from one is the reason this rating isn’t higher. UNACCEPTABLE.

2nd time here, again with large crowd following post-Thanksgiving sight seeing. Great food(I had bacon wrapped pork with green bean and broccoli casserole — excellent). Everyone in our party of 10 was satisfied with their meals. Server did a great job and food was delivered quickly. We will be back & recommend highly.

My favorite place in Versailles, they pour a good drink and have nice cocktails. I almost always order the Kentucky Hot Brown and am never disappointed…

This was our second time to try this restaurant. We had a bad experience the first time with our food not being very good. I just figured it was an off day for the server/cooks but to my surprise I had the same experience the second time. It was very loud(Friday) and it took the food forever to come out. The food was so salty that I couldn’t eat all the onion straws. My friend had the fried peppers and they were the same. It will be our last time to eat there. Overpriced for what I call bar food!

First time here as Ricardo’s, although I’d been to its previous incarnations. Relatively quiet to start as I was one of their first lunch customers, but filled up by the time I left. A burger passed me on the way to a table, and it called to me. Had the Cajun burger, blackened with banana peppers and pepper jack cheese. If it’s HOT, I’m there. Passed on a side, and went for a cold beer instead. Couldn’t have managed both, so glad I did. Big burger with generous ingredients and perfectly cooked. Waiter was attentive and amiable.

Probably the best Fried Chicken Salad in Kentucky. Fresh house made croutons, bacon, hard boiled egg, buttery fried chicken breast, good veg and a very nice mix of darker greens. It comes with a gravy dish of dressing as if you need it all. I’ve tried them all and this is the best around from Lexington to Louisville.

We love Ricardo’s. Foods consistently great and the people friendly. They have an amazing pizza oven and the best burgers around. Only wish they were not so far away.

So last Friday I went there with a friend to celebrate a birthday and had an amazing time. Because it was Saturday, there was a live band performing outside that keep me entertained and I also got an 8 oz sirloin and it was amazing. Made exactly how I wanted it, the prices we’re really cheap abd adorable. The experience and restaurant as a whole was worth it. I’ll definitely go back

Best burger I’ve found in Versailles but the music in the bar is too much. If you like loud you’ll love it. The bar hosts 9 TVs and extremely loud 80s rock that was too much for my liking on a Sunday post church lunch. Maybe they have a quieter dining room. The burger is worth one more shot at it.

Great food and atmosphere. Portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. In the heart of thoroughbred horse country, Versailles, KY. American comfort food across the board. Highly recommend the ribs, hot brown, and the potato skins.

Last night was one of the best meals ever. MY wife had the chicken salad sandwich with krinkle fries. I had the chicken quesadilla. The service was great, the music was great, and the friendliness of the staff was awesome. I have to admit though we eat here once a month! It is a favorite of ours.

I eat at Ricardos once a week. I dont know why I didnt review them earlier. I recently moved to Lexington and the food sucks. I take this drive for the Granny Smith Salad and the woodfire pizzas!!! They are always welcoming and the locals love this place. Please support the business!

This place used to be really good but it’s been going downhill for months. The service is not as good as it used to be and the quality of the food has gotten worse. Everything seems unorganized and chaotic all of the time. I picked up a to go order and no one knew who took it or if it had been rung in. Eventually someone said they had taken the order and they would go back on the kitchen to get it. My quesadilla was good but I asked for extra lettuce and got a few pieces of yellow iceberg lettuce. My fries were over done, had way too much salt, and were cold. Maybe the extra salt was an effort to disguise the coldness or hardness of the fries? This place has potential and used to be one of my favorites in Versailles, but they need to make some changes or it won’t be around long.
