It only gets better and better and better!!! We went in for dinner, I had the fillet mignon with a wonderful Morel Mushroom sauce, my wife had softshell crabs, I’ll post some photos.

Ate dinner there last night. Wasn’t impressed!!! For the prices the restaurant needs an upgrade… it looks the same as the point of view. .The cheapest glass of wine was $ 9…my wine was $ 13…yes it was good, but really… steak was average!!! Server wore a zip up hoodie… with her outfit… server should be dressed more appropriately… don’t know if I’ll give it another try

Dinner tonight was stellar. The whole brook trout was seasoned to perfection and not a bone in sight. Easily the best trout I’ve ever eaten. The husband had a burger which he said, «if I didn’t know better I’d swear this is Kobe beef.» I especially love the sides. So many restaurants throw some sad steamed veggies and a potato on the plate, but at R&D’s the sides are as good as the main event. And don’t miss the specialty cocktails. Had a toasted coconut martini for dessert(actually I had two). I was hesitant to try it as I don’t like very sweet drinks but this was delicious! The bartender, Steve, is a real mixologist and the waitstaff is always friendly and accommodating. Will be going back soon.

The food is good but the service can be inattentive which is concerning as only a few tables were going. This establishment has to decide if it is a nicer dining place with a bar or a bar with a restaurant. Little things like having the butter wraped in foil and placing used utensils back on the table for the next course makes it feel more like a diner rather than a retaurant. The people are all very nice and friendly. However with all the new restaurant choices in the area I think they need to step up their game to compete.

This place is great! You walk in to a nice homey environment and immediately feel welcome. We had a drink at the bar before dinner. Steve the bartender was really nice and makes a tasty cosmopolitan. Then we sat for dinner in the cozy feeling dining room. The food was fresh, seasonal, locally sourced, and delicious! Try the warm apple salad, you won’t regret it. The clam chowder was great, crab cake, apple pie-everything was great! I know it’s a bit off the beaten path, but it’s we’ll worth it. We’ll be back!

Delicious food. Great service. Felt like I was a welcomed guest at someone’s house. Homemade desserts to top it off. All around a great experience. Must go back!

I went for here for dinner with my girlfriend on Wednesday evening. We got there and were seated right away(it was a very quiet night — there were only two other tables with patrons). Really nice and modern décor(really loved the framed photos on the wall). I ordered an old-fashioned from the bar, which was made very well(no skimping on the liquor either!). I ordered the crab cake over greens, which were served with seared kale and baby red potatoes and remoulade. The crab cake was very light and flavorful and the kale was excellent(I’m a sucker for kale). My girlfriend ordered the NY strip steak(medium cook — she’s not a big rare meat person). Even for something I would consider overcooked, it was very flavorful and juicy. We will definitely return — I’d like to sample some of their shellfish appetizers(my girlfriend is allergic so I did not order any).

I deleted my old review on Ralph and Dave’s. I wrote that I would not be back for at least 6 months. Well, I have been back about 5 times this month. Ralph and Dave’s really turned this start up restaurant around! Its extremely surprising just how quickly this restaurant changed its game and now does everything… perfectly! The wait staff is great. The food is served fast once you place your order and It arrives hot. Ralph and Dave’s now have a weekend lunch time –afternoon summer special. It is well worth the trip to check this little restaurant out! You will be presently surprised!

Went to R&D’s last night without reservations, had to wait about 25 min for an outside table but it only seemed like it was 10. The bartender Steve was a Pro, friendly and on top of his craft. He was happy to supply a taste of the beer and wine for the customers having trouble deciding on what to have. Once we were seated in the outdoor dining area is when the real experience began. Our waitress Jess was attentive without hovering and the food was great. These guys have the best steamed little necks I’ve ever had, I was tempted to pick up the bowl and drink the broth. The oysters, crab cake and halibut were terrific also. Dave came through the dining are to see if everyone’s dining experience was up to his expectations and conversed with each table. There’s no rushing to turn the tables, it’s all about enjoying your evening. Highly recommended.

A hidden gem of a place. If you arrive by car or by boat, this restaurant alongside the Hudson River will not disappoint you. It is a road trip worthy destination. And although it’s a quirky building, as other reviews have commented, that only adds to the experience. The food is creative, fresh, and delicious! Be sure to save room for dessert!

Do not miss this place! Great price fixe they do not skimp on the portions as most price fixe does. I was shocked at how good the oysters were!!! Everything super fresh and the best New England clam Chowda I have ever been served. Dessert Awesome, everyone should sell fresh cookies and milk . The staff totally attentive and welcoming. Thanks Ralph and Daves we will be back.

not good where do I begin? told to wait, even though place was almost empty, décor is scary! polka music on speaker, chair had crumbs and drops of water. had to wipe off before we sat down asked 4X for water, had to go to bar to get a(small) glass. overheard bartender telling a customer that«The Point is a stink hole»(for those who do not know, that area of Westchester is called The Point) food was disappointing, to say the least. had big write up in local paper about the polenta, which was grainy and watery(huh? how is that even possible) many items on menu were«86’ed», but more expensive speciality of same item was available(the old bait and switch). Oh! best part, after bill was paid and tip left, a gentleman told me I made the waitress upset because I asked for water and bugged her so much McDonalds looks good compared to this place

This farm-to-table restaurant has quickly become one of our go-to’s. My family dined here last night for my mothers birthday, and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. To say the food is delicious is an understatement. The majority of our 7 people group ordered the oysters for the first dish– the crunchiness and the flavor was so good I could have eaten them as a meal! I had the crab cake over greens as my entrée– it was so big I had to take the last ¼ home! So much crab meat, it was the best I’ve ever had! Thank goodness too because it made an awesome lunch today. For dessert, I had the key lime pie, which I have every time we go, because it’s my absolute favorite. And forget the whip cream on top. Heaven. Plus, since there were a few birthdays in the house last night, Ralph and Dave came out and sang an awesome rendition of happy birthday to the guests with the rest of the staff. It was such a fun time, we couldn’t have asked for anything better! Thanks guys!

Love this new(ish) spot! The food is really well thought out and overall fantastic. It feels honest, rather than centered around a gimmick, which we enjoy. They serve real vegetables as sides which is impressive and undervalued, generally in many local restaurants. I’ve had kale, beets, carrots, and some other seasonal veggies which is a nice«treat» when eating out. I’ve sampled fish, seafood, burger and chicken pot pie as well as the chowder and fish soup; all excellent. We also had the cookies, which were great and while there was ice cream served as well, I think it’s madness that someone complained about this on Unilocal.(Wow). The room for improvements comes… We’ve tried to eat there more than ½ dozen times and gotten in /found them open /been able to be seated only twice but had a great experience both times. It’s wonderful that they get busy and you need a reservation. Good restaurants often have this same issue. However, last night we went and it was a special event which we were not aware of. I googled them ahead to be sure they were open and couldn’t find a website, which is a little bit of a hindrance. We ended up eating in Peekskill instead. I would give Ralph and Dave’s 5 stars as soon as the logistics become a bit more clear. I think it’s part of the newness and expect it will be easier as time goes on. A website would be helpful but the fact that it’s missing doesn’t change the reality that this is probably one of the top 3 restaurants in the area. No joke. Really good honest food and certainly worth a try. Call ahead to avoid confusion.

I came here on a Thursday evening because of their $ 25 prix fixe dinner menu. It is a 3-course deal at a farm-to-table restaurant, so that price really cannot be beat. Course 1: I went with the pumpkin soup. It was not a sweet pumpkin but more of a curried pumpkin. The soup itself was delicious, but it was garnished with some raw pumpkin seeds, which were a little difficult to eat. I would’ve opted for pepitas instead. Course 2: Venison(with marrow) over a creamy polenta. The venison was cooked perfectly, and the marrow was so tasty. They appropriately gave me a tiny fork(think clams/mussels) so that I could dig out the marrow. The polenta, however, was SO undercooked, I really should’ve sent it back. It was still crunchy. Super disappointing, especially because the serving of polenta was HUGE. Course 3: I opted for the milk and cookies. Two huge homemade chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk on the side. Super cute! On the menu, it did not mention that it comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the cookies, but that kind of ruined the nostalgia for me. I decided to give my ice cream to one of my friends. Overall, it’s a nice place — off the beaten path — and apparently they are a reservation-only place.

Just had a wonderful meal at Ralph & Dave’s. I took the Cave woman and daughters to what is usually my wife and I’s date night out. I usually don’t go into great detail in my reviews, however, this meal moved me to make the effort. My wife had the Sangria and I had an ICA beer(a hybrid of a German Cream Ale & an IPA) It was delicious! If you’re a fan of beer I would go here for that alone. Next my wife ordered the Cioppino which you’ll notice other reviewers have raved about. I ordered the Gumbo. It was wonderful. It was the perfect mix of salt from the oysters and spice. I felt lucky. My daughters both had the chowder which was excellent. Dinner: My wife and I each had the house steak. I had asked for it to be cooked medium to a slight medium rare and the chef nailed it perfectly. My wife loved hers as well. The accompanying vegetable and potatoes were perfect. I truly cannot remember having better.(I eat out at least twice a week normally and eat serious steak once a month). My daughters had the Tuna and Swordfish both were excellent. Dessert: The owner Dave is known for his pies which I have been a fan of his signature Blueberry pie with whipped cream for years. I had his key lime pie.(World stopping) Everyone one at the table went crazy. My wife had the ginger apple pie. The crust was marvelous. My daughters shared the chocolate Grenache.(Not a bite left) These were accompanied with Croton’s own Black Cow coffee. The meal was perfect. I hadn’t had a perfect meal in a long long time. The restaurant is in funky location, however, it has a warm inviting atmosphere. We will be there in the near future. I highly recommend this place. Croton Caveman

We really enjoyed our meal here Saturday evening. I made a reservation the day before for 8pm and had zero issues. The patio was open for dinner as well, but given that it was a muggy evening, we didn’t ask if we would eat outside. We arrived about 10 minutes or so before our reservation time and were asked to wait at the bar for a few, which was fine. The food really was delicious. I had the cioppino and my husband had the steamers. My cioppino was really great and his only complaint was that the broth was a bit salty, but overall he very much enjoyed them. Dinner was the Thai Chilean sea bass for me and the Rib Eye with the in house made steak sauce. Both came with seasonal veggies and a really good cous cous salad. Our waiter was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. One thing I noticed, as did a fellow Unilocaler was the décor didn’t match the service. Almost kitschy in décor and service was very professional, folded napkin when you weren’t in your seat, cleaning of crumbs with that silver thing, white aprons as part of their uniform. Oh, and save room for dessert! Key lime was really good and the mixed berry pie was amazing. I would be more than happy to come here again.

We walked into an empty restaurant at 530pm and they wouldn’t seat us – said they had reservations through 830pm. They had about 25 tables(guessing) empty. Not happy. Update: I received a message from the owner after he read my review. The –apology –and-we only accept reservations ma’am – is a good PR move but rings shallow to my ears. The $ 200 we spent that evening at another scenic location could have been R &D’s take and I would never of had the expectation about being seated in an essentially empty restaurant at 530pm IFYOUWOULDHAVEINDICATEDCLEARLYONYOURMANYSOCIALMEDIASITESTHATYOUWERE A RESERVATIONONLYRESTAURANT. As I have read through the postings on several sites, the owners failed to state the essential need to make reservations except in the case of special micro-brewery farm to table pairing events. Two causes near and dear to my heart, by the way. Perhaps the owners can amend their Unilocal,Facebook and trip advisor listings to reflect the need to make a reservation. Also, when we called the restaurant prior to walking in, the hostess did not ask if we had a reservation. I made it clear to her that we had just spotted the sign and driven past business that looked like a private-home and asked what kind of food was on the menu and stated we would be there shortly to dine. At no time did she query as to whether or not we had a reservation. So perhaps the owner can do some better orientation and training of their homogeneous staff and amend the sites so that other patrons can have better encounters with the restaurant in the future. I stand corrected– the establishment has ½ as many tables as I had indicated. I must have seen a mirror image –

Cioppino was a great way to start this delish meal, It was extremely flavorful and light. Polenta and fresh seasonal veggies were a tasty accompaniment for my Filet mignon which was super tender and cooked perfectly. Key lime pie was the best i ever had, not to sweet and very creamy. The crust had a nice graham cracker flavor. My only negatives were, cold BUT tasty coffee, and when the waitress brought the coffee to the table she held the cups on the rim. I will absolutely go back, hopefully the coffee will be hot
