Very authentic Mexican food in South Vero. My friend and I had the soft shell tacos: 3 shredded beef and 3 chicken. Both delicious. The fajitas at another table looked so good.

The service at this place was disgusting, I’ve never been treated so rude in my entire life, my girl friend who has an emotional service dog got denied service, when it is illegal to do so, we were starving so I ordered food to go and I am pretty sure that they just threw some crappy gas station burritos in a micro wave and gave them to us, avoid this place at all costs!!!

Owned by a wife and husband team hailing from Mexico and Puerto Rico respectively, la Taberna has made the right choice in opting to serve Mexican food. The menu is varied, with a kind of «middle Mexico» menu with dishes from various regions. The service wasn’t very good and it looked like our server was in training – there were only three tables with people and she was really struggling. The food, on the other hand, was pretty good, and authentic.
I loved all the Spanish spelling errors on the menu – they remind me of home. ;)
— Guacamole ²⁄₅. Price! They should be charging $ 5 for this, not $ 9.
— Michelada ³⁄₅. The beer cocktail of champions.
— Sopes (beef). ³⁄₅. Not a whole lot of flavor.
— Flautas (chicken). ⁴⁄₅. Really big for flautas, but light and delicious.
— Adobo de puero. ⁴⁄₅. Nice spice. I hope the red was from chiles and achiote and not food coloring. ;)

Normally, I’d rate them a 3/​5, but because the food is authentic, they get an extra point. Authentic Mexican places are hard to come by in Florida.

Just had a awesome time here an must say the food is very good and very authentic. My wife is mexican so trust me. It’s good shit lol. I recommend the tacos an tortas. So good

Finally good authentic Mexican food in Vero beach! I ate delicious chicken tacos and my boyfriend had tamales and molé and we both enjoyed our meals very much. The food is very reasonably priced and there are lots of options. There is a sports bar attached with good deals on drinks.
