Vermont Woods Studios

My husband and I spent over $ 13,000 on 4 pieces of furniture from Vermont Wood Studios and it has been a total nightmare. We started this custom order in July 2015 and it’s still not over. 2 pieces had to be remade and VWS seem to have a million excuses for why our order is a mess. We learned our lesson and realized we should certainly buy local when spending this much money. They use very unprofessional shipping companies which explains why the shipping is free. My story is really long and will not fit on this review so I will not bore you with details. The best part is after all this I get a phone call from the owner who left a message telling me she will make me a priority. This was on a Friday. When I called her back the following week to chat she was on vacation. HA! I have never heard another word from her. Not an email or a phone call or a letter. Nothing. They did give me a whopping 10% discount on the two items that had to be remade. It’s almost insulting actually.
Instead of boring you with written details I am going to post photos of the condition my expensive custom made furniture that my husband and I bought as a wedding present to ourselves for starting our lives together. Not a very awesome way to begin.

I ordered the Contemporary Craftsmen bed in natural cherry and the wood and the craftsmanship are wonderful — the surfaces are so silky smooth you want to run your hands over them. I did have an issue with the slats being so close to the surface of the bed that they were visible around the mattress. Vermont Woods Studios hired a local furniture company to stain the slats so that they now blend in with the bed. I really appreciated the extra, personalized effort to make me happy with my purchase.

This review is for their customer service, which was great. I contacted them by email, thinking I was contacting the manufacturer of a bed frame I already owned with some questions I had about it.
It took a few exchanges for us to figure out that I had the wrong party, but the VWS rep was unfailingly polite, cheerful, and helpful throughout the process. (I hope that the same proves to be the case for the manufacturer, now that I have figured out whom I actually need to contact! :)

I live in California, and found this company on the Internet. I wanted an American made table. They custom build your furniture for a very reasonable price. I love my table. Every time I use it I marvel at the beauty of it. Every step of the way was easy, from the ordering to the white glove delivery, which amazed me, not being local. I can’t say enough good things about this company. Or my table! I would definitely without a doubt order again from this company.

Every step of the way was great. I found them through a search for «cherry bed» and found one I liked. We were traveling near their location and checked out the quality of the work for the product we wanted. The people there were so nice and the quality was excellent.
The 2 young men who delivered the bed and put it together were friendly and efficient. I can’t say enough good about the whole experience.
