Awesome burgers today. We all ordered different temperatures and they were all perfectly cooked with just the right amount of char.

I at there last night with a coworker. The atmosphere is simple The food was very good. I had their soup(vegetables and small meat balls), Caesar salad and the Asiago chicken. The other guy had chicken parm which he loved. My meal was excellent and all was well priced. About $ 5 less than the Italian restaurant at Turing Stone.

I’ve been to the Black Stallion many times in my life, and I’ve never had a meal that disappointed. This past week we had a close family friend die unexpectedly, and while my parents were dealing with logistics, we needed to get a lot of food and quickly. We called the Black Stallion and explained the situation. We needed several full catered trays and within the hour. We got the Chicken Riggies(always good), shrimp and broccoli Alfredo and a large antipasto salad. They were amazingly kind, willing to turn around our order in actually less than the hour and everything was delicious. Not only do I highly recommend it for your average dinner(the fra diavolo is so good), but they’re just a good business run by good people in general.

First time eating wahoo(Ono) and first time at the Black Stallion. Served on spinach strawberries and walnuts. My husband had the Asiago chicken. Yum. Totally unexpected at a rustic restaurant a few miles away from where we live. We’ve driven by a gazillion times. Who knew?

I had hopes for tonight’s meal but was disappointed. The Black Stallion décor is dated and slight musty smell when I walked in. Wait staff was pleasant took my order and I made the mistake of not telling her to have dressing put on the side of my salad. It was so overdressed I found salad inedible. Bread was greasy and unappealing I ordered the chicken Parmesan which took way too long. My waitress kept apologizing for the delay and when it finally arrived the portion was huge. The chicken was tender and I enjoyed the sauce. I found the amount of melted mozzarella too much. I know that sounds crazy and I enjoy cheese but I had to try and get some off. Pasta was tasteless and for a restaurant claiming to have great Italian food I found it less than memorable.

Had the fish it tasted weird. Had the calamari appetizer it was rubber raw no crisp… Kids steak was fatty and wifes haddock she requested cover with bread crumbs wow were they cheap on that. And little soft drink glasses. Pathetic bad and horrible. Some peeps just don’t know good food. I would never ever recommend!

Ohhhhhhh Myyyyy Gooooood!!! I’m on the job with a group of ladies taking classes nearby who were given vouchers to eat. Me being the driver of said trip I received one as well. We come in and were greeted very warmly by a wonderful waitress named Kelly. She was very nice and very attentive. I ordered a chicken parm that was made exactly how I ordered it. I gotta say my plate went back clean. The garlic bread given to us in the beginning was good, Kelly brought me some more. All the ladies enjoyed their food. Portions were humongous. I gotta say if you are ever in the area check this place out. You will leave stuffed or you will need to be carried out… That’s how I feel right now. Unfortunately I gotta drive back to the hotel.

My husband and I love seafood, but have had some horrible meals. The Black Stallion is the one place where we get a great seafood dinner each and every time. Fridays they have haddock along with a number of fresh specials. Portions are large so often we get extra soup and salad and split the entrée. Whether you go for plain, fried haddock or one of their delicious specials using fresh vegetables and light sauces, you can’t go wrong here. Want lighter fare? — ask for their tavern menu or order one of their delicious appetizers. Reasonably priced drinks and great service. The owner is almost always walking around helping out. What a difference having the owner present makes to consistent quality. Beware — they close for much of the month of January :(

I would say that this place is the best meal you can get in the area. Vernon being somewhat rural, I was pleasantly surprised and will be returning the next time I’m in town for business. Black Stallion is a Grill/up scale Italian restaurant. My boss went for the Lasagna and I ordered the Chicken Parm. Both are staples at an Italian place but these two dishes hit right on the mark. Excellent flavors, the last bite I took of my meal had a nice burst of fresh parsley in the sauces, it made me smile. The service was attentive and food was great, can’t really ask for more.

Seriously? I can’t believe I’m the first one writing a review for this place. It’s such a popular local Italian restaurant, and my friends living Upstate are regulars to it! Décor is country style, and staff are friendly. Food was awesome, especially the calamari, the soup and the daily special Hawaiian white tuna! The calamari was very crunchy, yet the squid didn’t get coated by a thick layer of batter. Just thinly coated, and it was perfect! The Hawaiian white tuna, I think, was pan seared, and accompanied by some sweet-and-sour squash chunks and balsamic vinegar. The texture of the fish was so smooth, and the dressing was very appetizing. The veal dish, the steaks, and the chicken & scallop combo dish were pretty good too.

The food at the Black Stallion is excellent. We go there about 2 to 3 times a month and the food is constantly great. They have on the menu a chicken Rolled that is stuffed with crab meat enough for left overs the next night. Usually they have several specials, their fresh fish when available is the best in the area. Fried Fish special looks great and is popular. Soups & deserts are always good & freshly made. The service is great. Everyone is friendly. Sal takes pride in his ownership and it reflects on the quality of the food and the service. I would suggest on a Friday or Saturday that you call for reservations. If you have to wait a few extra minutes for a table to become available enjoy a drink at the bar while you wait. Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality you get served.
