I’m absolutely disgusted with this company. A week ago, I went into a Torrid store in Vernon Hills. I was not helped at all and I was in the store for more than 15 minutes. After making my way towards the door, I heard an associate conversing with another associate about helping me and it was stated that they did not want to help me because I am black and would not buy anything anyway. I did not cause I scene, I left the store and went about my day. This has been bothering me so I have contacted customer care twice and have not received any call back concerning this so I am making this issue now public!

I stopped at this store to look for something to wear to a funeral. I was the only shopper in the store and there were 3 employees (I believe one was training). All 3 of the ladies were super helpful. I felt like I was being catered to, but they were never pushy. I’m normally and jeans and t-​shirt kind of girl and tend to stay away from the dressier clothing, and they all went out of their way to not only help me find something appropriate, but also flattering. Even though I don’t expect that kind of service everywhere I shop, it was awesome. I will be returning soon.

This place seemed cool! I’d never been in here before. They had some cute stuff! Nice to see another «plus-​sized» shopping store around town. The clothes are on the cheaper side, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers, right?! These seemed to stylish clothing, which a lot of larger sized clothing does not. Hope they stick around!

Torrid is usually a hit or miss. They have a lot of cute, trendy items when I look, but usually finding said cute, trendy items in high quality and in a non-​flimsy fabric is harder to do. They have cool tee shirts and fun shoes and accessories. They are not as hard core as their sister store Hot Topic.
