Great customer service, they were able to work with me after I had issues with Radio Shack at Round Lake Beach. They were knowledgeable and understanding. I will definitely make the drive when searching for good deals on Radio Shack.

By far the worse customer service I have ever experienced. To top it off they provide you a card to call their district managers if you have a bad experience and the number is disconnected. This is a real bummer since Radio Shack is the only place that sells hard to find cables.

This Radio Shack is located inside of the Hawthorne shopping mall.
I do like this location because the fact that it is located inside the mall, it isn’t too crowded when I have been in there. I have come here several times for that hard to find battery or for a coaxial fitting for cable TV. They seem to have any and every battery that you could ever need.
The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable, so make sure that you ask them your question or for help if you can’t find what you are looking for.

2012 Toy Purchase
There are lots of remote control (RC) vehicles on the market… and I mean A LOT. So when my boys told me they wanted RC monster trucks for the 2012 holiday, I honestly didn’t know where to begin! After reading a few mixed reviews-​making me realize they would be useless in this case-​I feared this year’s vehicles would suck again like the last.
A tired mom with a long shopping list, I happened to remember a time when my dad (who is beyond picky when it comes to electronics) purchased various toys for my much younger brother from Radio Shack. Not wanting to make the exhausting trip to Toys R’ Us, on a whim I popped into this store and sure enough they had monster trucks in three sizes EXACTLY like I wanted. Not knowing anything about their brand, I asked Tim to give me the low down. He told me Radio Shack only carries the brands they feel hold their value and was confident I’d be happy with the purchase. I selected the medium-​size trucks, and Tim told me about their very detailed warranty program upon check out. Already up there in price, I opted out, but because they had a promotion taking place where I’d get a $ 10 rebate, he said I can come back later and apply that toward the warranty. BTW, the warranty is a really great deal… full replacement value.
All in all, shopping here was super easy and quick! The merchandise was nicely displayed with price tags on everything, and within a matter of minutes I was saved from the trip to toy land chaos with über long lines. Best of all, the trucks are AWESOME and worth every penny.
