I didn’t see an option for zero stars, hence the one star rating. Pretty simple. Their Gyros plate is just a sandwich with fries and a greek salad. They really should say that. Most places give you double meat, and that’s why they call it a plate. 25 minute wait for a take out order!!! Serious? The only reason I tried this place was because Portillo’s had a power outage. Food is expensive and not very good. DONOTEATHERE!!!

I have been going to BoBo’s on and off for several years because I live in Vernon Hills. I will start by letting you know that iyou can spend $ 40 but if you want anything from extra sauce or some water you will be charged(How CHEAP) The food is okay and the place is really nice but the behavior of the owner and staff ruin it. Here is a great story you must read! BoBo’s also handles the food at the Vernon Hills pool. I was there and had a rather large order including a well done burger no bun. They handed me a burger that was bloody rare. I nicely asked if they could make it well done like I ordered. The staff member said«this is how I make it» I told him to please add it on the grill a bit longer. He threw it on the grill for 5 seconds and handed it back still bloody rare. I asked him again if he could cook it because I cannot eat rare meat. He told me he had other orders and that’s how he makes them. He again grabbed it from me, called me 5 minutes later and handed me a half of a burger. The other half must have fallen in the grill. I could only laugh and say to myself«I am done with BoBo’s forever.» Here is my advice to you. Do you want great food served by a wonderful family then drive a few miles west on Rt 60 to Nikko’s. It’s well worth it!

The Greek man is outrageous, he charged me a higher price than what was on the menu. By a lot. Don’t go off of their menu prices because they’re practice seems to be to charge you what they want. I asked for Feta crumbles on my gyro and I got sticks of feta?! Tomatoes weren’t even included on the gyro like the menu read. It really irks me when a business would rather annihilate repeat customers in order to save a few cents. Terrible food establishment practices.

Walked in today and walked right out. This greek man is outrageous for trying to charge 7.99 for 2 hotdogs fries and a drink. Overpriced for the area. This is not Wrigley Field or U.S. Cellular Field

It’s Hangover Sunday. You need to coat that stomach lining with some recovery fuel. Go to Bobos. Get the gyro. Amazing hangover cure AND delicious. Best of all, nobody will judge you in last night’s clothes.

Kind of disappointed. Chicken gyro isn’t gyro at all basically just grilled chicken. Also kind of expensive for the portions provided.

We love this place! Great hot dogs, polish sausages, and French fries! We definitely will be coming here.

Your typical 60’s diner. Had a huge menu with a lot of combos. Food came out quickly and was really good. I’d come here again. They do charge you for refills with your fountain drinks and the bathroom was mostly clean.

I’m still not jumping for joy over this place. The food is OK… the fries are just frozen. My veggie burger today was soggy and didn’t have a lot of flavor. I have had the sweet potato fries and those are good. The spanikopita is good… this place just isn’t really anything exceptional. What bothers me is it seems like the prices change every time I go there. And what’s on their menu doesn’t match what you are charged. Basically, if you need something to eat, it’s always there.

Will do in a pinch. The gyro’s and the rest of the food that I’ve had here is A-OK but I like my pita kinda crispy not all soft and chewy and the meat is kind of bland. Maybe it needs more meat which you can get for another $ 3. The dogs are ok but not near Portillos taste. The burgers are flame broiled and have a nice crunch to them. Huge menu including all kinds of chicken(Greek, grilled, fried) which I will try some time. Chicken Gyros, Ribs, Salads etc.

I have been looking for someplace that made a decent Gyro for ages and finally stumbled on Bobo’s when I was passing through the area. Most places will try to pass off some form of processed lamb but Bobo’s was a original as I have had. Be warned — if you opt for the«big» version with extra meat, bring your appetite and use a fork. They pile the lamb on extra high and you’ll need to dig down a bit before you can pick the gyro up!

We have been going here for 20 years and the food is always good — and i don;t fins it any more expensive than any other similar place in the surrounding area, despite what many of the other reviews say, and usually less expensive with their many specials. They have all the standards such as hamburgers, hot dogs, polish, gyros etc. They also have a wider menu that includes roasted chicken, ribs, souvlaki and skirt steaks sandwiches(one of my favorites). Plus the have Green River in the soda fountain(plus and entire ice cream shop with cones, sundaes and shakes). If you are looking for a reasonable place to eat lunch or dinner, I would recommend it.

Place is good but kinda greasy. I got food from here often when I used to work kiddy korner from here. Not a bad place for hot dogs and such but nothing overly special.

First time here after passing it many times. It’s got a pretty good spot off a busy road in a plaza. The décor gives it an old fashioned diner vibe which is cool I guess. Got a gyro with fries and drink. Not too bad, nothing special. Will try more and update the review when needed. Guy taking the orders, maybe one of or the top guy, could’ve been more cheery but it is what it is. Probably go back? Then again Portillos is right across the street.

I liked the gyro, although I want to believe it was a little smaller than it would’ve been if it was full priced… for $ 3 it was fine, but for $ 6(with no sides or drink) I may have been a bit tee’d… Just sayin… Tomatoes could be chopped smaller, I don’t want one giant slice… Points for the Pepsi product fountain soda(which is .25Cents to refill that I saw no one pay…) and the fact that it is a local business with very cool 50’s feel. Would go back for the $ 5 double cheeseburger deal that looks like it comes with fries and a drink.

Standard diner fare done well. I had to drop a star because the baklava was… off. Rancid? I don’t know how to describe it. It tasted fermented. I couldn’t finish it.

I had a hankering for a gyros sammich so I figured I’d give this joint a try. Since I try to look at the positive side of things, let’s cover those first. –Décor was cool, especially the painted wall depicting classic diner scenes. –Food was decent. It’s not anything spectacular, but it’s not bad. I had a regular gyros sammy and fries. –Homer’s ice cream. I didn’t try it, but the sign on the way says they serve Homer’s ice cream, which I adore. But, with this being a 2-star review, obviously there is bad news to go around. –EXPENSIVE. Like I mentioned, I ordered a gyros sandwich and fries. Dude asked if I wanted the combo which came with a drink, I said no drink. It was still $ 8 and change. –Portions definitely don’t justify the price. I had approximately 3 slivers on onion and a piece of tomato on my sandwich. I’ve had some gyros sandwiches that cost $ 3.50 that could feed two people no problem. This one was gone in about 4 bites. –The meat wasn’t even carved off the spit fresh, it was sitting in a tray. My advice is save a couple bucks and go down the street to Portillos.

A co-worker had suggested to try out their $ 5 double cheeseburger combo but had also mentioned if you place an order for their regular double cheeseburger and fries combo, the meal would be more appreciated. Didn’t understand what he was saying till I saw the meal for myself. The lunch combo consisted of a double cheeseburger with meat like what you’d expect from a Jr double from Wendy’s. Think thinly sliced meat patties. The sandwich mimicked flavors of a typical Whopper from Burger King. The fries were shoe string sized. The whole meal set me back about six dollars with tax. At the table next to me was a guy eating what I can assume is the regular menu double cheeseburger and fries. Major difference? Size, regular sized meat patties and steak fries Later that afternoon and into the evening I would feel the worst heartburn I have ever experienced. The feelings lasted into the late evening and ruined any appetite I had for dinner. Clearly, I won’t be going back for a workday lunch. What’s crazy to me is that I have had work lunches at Portillo’s and done the typical hot dogs and fries or even a burger for a few days and never felt anguish from their foods. One meal here and I had the sweats and pains of heartburn. This is a one and done visit for me. Bo-bo’s is your typical Greek American burger joint. Cheeseburgers, gyros, salads, fries and of course saganaki and baklava. They have it all. Amongst localites, Bo-bo’s is also known for its fountain treats and ice creams. This 50’s themed diner is situated in a strip mall between Dominick’s and a pretty good Indian restaurant and a tacky Thai place.
