Good food, nice service but not the cleanest place– would have gave it a better rating if the place was cleaner–

One of my «Secret» places to go for a cold beer and good food. There is always room at the bar and the TV on «The Game». It’s a cool spot if you want to avoid the crowds and hang with a few locals.

Go somewhere else. Trust me We were treated so poorly here. We like to tip well and enjoy good food and drink. The food was mediocre at best. But the service was beyond awful. Try one of the hundred other mexican places in the area before this one. You will thank me later. We went for dinner and the waitress asked if we wanted something to drink for from the happy hour. We said no thanks but we would take water to start with. The waitress was in a rush to take our order and barely gave us a few minutes to order. The food was served in a timely manner but had to request tortillas. The food was not impressive at all. Never asked if we needed refills or anything else The real kicker was when we said we had an access card and all of the sudden we noticed we were overcharged on the bill by $ 2 per entrée. Supposedly the menu was going up in price tomorrow but the menu has not reflected the changes. Which seems like total b.s. After we brought it up, she mentioned a manager override code. The whole thing just seemed like a huge scam. Never. Will. Return The seats are all ripped up and the place is falling apart. Absolutely horrible!!! The waitress stomped off with our money after we brought up the issue with the bill. Shady service. Avoid this place.

Came in during happy hour on a weeknight — $ 3.75 to $ 5.25 margaritas — and a good bartender 3STARS!!! HH food sampler($ 7) was OK — taquitos, a little mini burrito, nachos, guacamole, wings, multiple HOT salsas… the problem? They were out of wings!!! A Happy Hour without wings isn’t very happy! 2 skimpy STARS. 3 taco combo(more like mini tacos at Mission Burrito on Wednesdays for 99 cents) with rice and beans($ 12) — Really? 2.5 stars… I have had good experiences with Yolanda’s in Simi Valley — this place is nothing like that. Save your money for places like Cabo, El Dorado, and Mission Burrito — their food is on a different level and the value is there.

The owner or manager didn’t want to seat us in the bar so that we couldn’t get happy hour prices. We said that we would order from the bar. Then waitress said that we could get happy hour pricing. When the bill came they charged full price for drinks, then said that was the happy hour price. We pulled out the drink menu and took photos of the menu prices vs the bill. The waitress made an agreement with me. Pay full price and write a bad review. So here I am. Writing a bad review. I’ve been here before and the food and service was great many years ago. The wait staff are assholes. And I never like to talk bad about people. But this place deserves it.

Where do we start… bartender didn’t know how to make a basic margarita, then he asked for his tip after paying $ 17 for a margarita and rum/coke! Food is awful, smells like pot… don’t eat or drink here

I had been here a few years ago and the food & service was very good. But last night we should have turned around & left, because the dining area was empty… on a Friday evening at 6:30pm. It took nearly 30 minutes to get our food, I had the combination plate of a taco & enchilada, which were tiniest portions I have ever seen, appetizer size, for $ 11.95(???). The waitress was friendly & accommodating, can’t blame her for an inefficient kitchen. Never again.

Should of went on Unilocal to see the reviews before attempting to eat here. Waited for 10 minutes at the hostess counter for someone to ackowledge us. Waitress standing in the back talking to her friend while glancing in our direction. Still doesnt come over to assist us. Get better service!

Really disappointed with the service. Maybe 10 other people in restaurant and the bartender acted like the bar was loaded with people. We were the only ones in the bar area. Arrived around 6:15 P.M. I had two Margaritas and my husband had two beers. We ordered a sampler plate. Unfortunately the two chicken wings were RAW… yikes…We let the bartender know, paid our bill then we were out of there. Won’t be going back… RAW chicken is deadly… no thanks!

We visited after 9pm one night. There was a club atmosphere with loud music next door and people were coming into the restaurant to drink. That’s fine BUT, we got very poor service as a result. We got a small basket of chips while we waited for our order which we decided to place as take-out. The chips were fresh and the salsa was good. The food was just average. The sink leaking in the bathroom was disgusting.

The only word that comes to mind when I see this place is DISTURBING! Came in with my family and we were so grossed out. The food was horrible and the place was dirty. We should have ran out of there when we saw it was empty. I will never step foot in here again. Not even if there was a zombie apocalypse and this was the only place to take refuge in. Disgusting!!!

Disappointing brunch! Over priced small portions off regular menu, slow service. Waste of money would not go back. Brunch was 14.95 and they did not even have all of the brunch items out kitchen slow.

I came for the buffet which had very little selection. The cheese had a very off taste. The chicken encaladas smelled bad and I couldn’t eat them. Maybe they’re having a bad day but I’m not going to risk it again.

Pretty little place with and old feel. The bar is kinda intimate so you can sneak a kiss or two in on a date. The food was cool, bought the Chimi Burrito. I love chimichugas!!! The shell was kicking ass and it was a good size and solid. Coming back to get drunk!

Soo disappointed have come here for years. No more Sunday Brunch, their«pet friendly» patio they wanted to sit us in looked like it was under construction. We left and went elsewhere, second time in a month I have tried to eat here and left, I won’t be back.

I’ve been here several times. The only reason I’ve been here more than once is because it is very close to where I work. I can say the food has been pretty consistent. Consistently meh. The food is just not anything memorable. I’ve had several different items on the menu and they have all been very bland. I can honestly say the only thing on the menu that I have liked is the margarita. I’ve mostly gone here for lunch and it’s always dead empty, if that tells you anything. A group of us went here recently and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Several of us ordered fish tacos… and then we waited. And waited. And Waited. We started wondering if they actually had to run out to the pier and go fishing for the fish. Then a couple of our dishes came to the table, and then maybe 6 or 7 minutes later another plate came, and then another 5 minutes for the last plate. We thought we would get our food quickly because we were the only people in the restaurant, but this was definitely not the case. Our«fish tacos» didn’t have much fish in them, so after all this we were still pretty hungry.

If you want good service, tasty food, chunky salsas, and a nice clean atmosphere do NOT eat here. We walked out having eaten a basket of chips with ½ a glass of water. Never did see the waiter. Need I say more???

I have been coming to Yolie’s for years with my family. Although it has gone through a ton of different owners, it has always been a good place to eat with a comfortable atmosphere. This last year we have been going often for happy hour because of the great prices. The appetizer sampler during happy hour is only $ 6 and my favorite taco sampler is only $ 5! The last time I visited, I noticed that the newest owners put out a brand new menu and I was in disbelief. The prices are absolutely outrages! $ 15 for a burrito? I’ve always loved Yolie’s but I know when I go to dinner there I’m not going to a 5-star gourmet restaurant. With these new prices, I can’t imagine they will stay in business for too much longer. The only business they’ll get from me is during happy hour and if they ever get rid of the current happy hour menu, I probably won’t be back and that’s a bummer because I enjoy going.

Came here after a great surf session with the surf team. Enjoyed a nice champagne brunch for $ 15. Decent spread with traditional breakfast items as well as Mexican food as would be expected. They have some weird quirky rule about only three glasses of champagne, and then they only brought us two each, but overall this is a nice deal. Food was average to above average with some items at the buffet better than others. They also had a nice dessert spread as well with cookies, carrot cake, pumpkin pie, and red velvet cake. The fruit was fresh and the salad bar was excellent. I probably would be inclined to rank higher if they had not skipped us on the last glass of champagne. Also, it is not exactly the cleanest restaurant and has obviously seen some high traffic beach crowds before, but this place could use a healthy top to bottom cleaning. Other places charge crazy prices for the same thing so overall 4-stars on the value alone and please next time don’t jip us on the last glass of champagne.

I order take-out from Yolie’s a lot because I live so close to the restaurant. My favorite dinner is a 2 item combination with cheese enchilada and shredded beef taco. It comes with a salad and I love Yolie’s blue cheese dressing! My honey likes the fish tacos, asada tacos, and the steak quesadilla. The avocado and quemada salsas from the fresh salsa bar are the best but all are good, really. The staff is always smiling and friendly. I like that we are always recognized as regulars and enjoy chatting with them while we pickup our order. Typically we’re take-out patrons but we like the dinner buffet and Sunday brunch with champagne. Their $ 15 Sunday brunch has some great selections: scrambled eggs, O’Brien potatoes, bacon, sausage, French toast, and pancakes plus a nice salad bar, cheese enchiladas, chicken fajitas, made to order tortillas, tacos, fish, rice, beans and a few various desserts. There is definitely something for everyone!
