Oh my I can’t say enough about Javier and his lovely family, too! This is NOT just another TEST ONLY SMOG stop. It is a very pleasant experience to have.
There is shade, too, plenty of patio furniture to sit on while you wait maybe fifteen minutes. Javier stands apart from all the rest with his customer service and his lovely family might be with him the day you drive in. This is a family business and Javier cares about his customers. You will be in and out fast as the previous customer said. I made sure to place his name in my real address book at home because I don’t want to forget to come back here in two years! Thank you Javier! You are Awesome!

Fast and friendly service. Javier was able to get service me twice for different vehicles without an appointment, have me in an out in a few minutes at one of the best prices in town. To boot he’s friendly and seems to be very good at what he does. I highly recommend him for test only services.

Great place for a smog. Took my RV there, everyone friendly and helpful. Couple of cars in front of me, but got done really quickly. I’ll definitely use them again.

Found this place on Unilocal and couldn’t ignore the 5 stars! I needed a quick place to get my smog test done and appreciated my fellow Unilocalers for leading me here. Javier is quick, professional, and a pleasure. I was in and out, I swear, in 5 minutes. :)

Javier was able to take me right away, without an appt… I went mid-​week, mid-​afternoon, which may have helped. The inspection was done and paperwork processed in less than 15 minutes, and Javier then backed my car out of the bay and turned it around so I wouldn’t have to do it myself or risk backing out onto busy Ventura Ave. Javier is both professional and charming.

I found «Ventura Ave Smog Test Only Center» on Unilocal and I must agree with the previous reviewers… this place was great. I never would have thought that getting a smog check would actually be a pleasant experience but Javier was friendly, professional, and fast.
In the past I’ve tried to find coupons to random places but every time I go somewhere excepting a low rate they spring a hidden fee. My smog check here was $ 50 (more than many coupon places yet without the hidden additional fees so it all evened out).
The bonus was saying hello to his adorable dog!!!

The last time I had to have my truck smogged I went somewhere else. It took over an hour and the people there were rude. So this year I searched Unilocal and found Ventura Ave Smog Test.
Boy am I glad I did. Took my truck in this Saturday morning, Javier was pleasant and professional and had me in and out in about 15 minutes. He even told me that I would need to replace my fuel cap (which the other place didn’t tell me). I am all about supporting local small businesses and this place is great! If you’re due for a smog check go see these guys, you won’t be disappointed. They are as good as it gets… and extremely reasonable price wise. I am a confirmed customer for life!

Highly recommend stopping by for a smog check! Javier was friendly and pleasant. It’s first come first serve, so when I called to see if I could bring by car by within the hour, I was surprised that he could take it right then. I was the only car there and it took less than 15 minutes. I was extremely pleased that I was able to get my smog check during my lunch hour and still have time for lunch. Just make sure that when you drive down Ventura Avenue that you don’t mistake the first two smog shops on the way for Ventura Avenue Smog!

If you need a smog check you’ve GOT to try this place!!!
Jessie is a great, down-​to-​earth honest guy. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with start to finish. He had me in and out within 15 minutes. Not only was he very professional he gave me some great recommendations for other work I needed done.

I just moved to the area and needed my smog checked. Found Javier on Unilocal and noticed his reviews and star rating, they were right on. My experience was just the same. He had me in and out in 10 mins. Javier pointed out a few concerns he wanted me to be aware of which I thought were helpful. Our 2^nd car is due for a smog check and I am definitely going back. Javier is professional, speedy and worth every penny!

Javier is awesome — so smart, so professional. I was in and out very quickly and I absolutely trust that his pricing is competitive. Now, if only he could help me avoid the DMV…

Javier had me in and out of this place on a Thursday afternoon in less then 15 minutes. I had made an appointment earlier in the morning and he kept it.
My car passed the first time but his center offers one free retest within 30 days if your car fails.
Javier also offers to fill up your tires (as dictated by the state of CA) but I graciously declined the offer. He charges $ 2 for the service which is more then reasonable if you have issues doing it yourself.
The price of the smog advertised in the shop is a bit high but look for ads in the penny saver and various other locals papers. I used a coupon without any issues and got myself a fair deal.
One the way out the door, Javier mentioned that the ABS light is on due to the test and that it was common and would turn off. It did turn off like he said it would.
Before you even go to ANY smog center, make sure your check engine light is NOT on. If it is and you bring it into the shop, the smog place has to test you and automatically fail you. So try to settle your check engine light before you arrive.
I’ve had issues with shady smog check mechanics in the past and it was a relief to be in and out of this place without any hassle.
I’ll be back in two years.
