Pawn Shop of Ventura

We went to check it out, the usual assortment, there are quite a few low end guitars, etc. Decent DVD collection. We got three DVDs of Harry Potter for $ 6. One was a 2 disc set. They tried all of them to make sure they worked for us. They cleaned them up, found a defective one, and checked in the back to see if they had another one and lo and behold, they did. Checked it, replaced it, and told us we had a week if we had any problems we could return them for an exchange. Nice guys. Cannot complain. If you are looking for a sportster, they had one for sale out front, but it wasn’t a bargain. Also had used bikes. No wetsuits that I saw. Check out the honey store across the street, too. Also a good guy, with an amazing collection of locally sourced honey. Reasonable, too.

I went there the other day and I had been given a quote for something from about 2 months earlier. they would not honor their own quote and the guy that I dealt with was tired and had no clue about anything. He seemed shady and uninformed. When I asked for about $ 5 more than what they offered he said, «they don’t do pay that amount» it was totally weird! I would not recommend this pawn shop! It really does seem shady and in experienced!

Do not sell gold to these guys. I went to a few pawn shops within a 10 minute time span. When I asked why they offer so much less, they said it was because of fluctuations in the market. So they are liars too. The gold market didn’t fluctuate that much in the short drive on Thompson.
Avoid these people!

If you want to get a good laugh stop by ventura pawn shop. From the un easy feeling of 5 employee s standing around staring at you doing nothing !! After they tried to take my property and quickly print a slip I grabbed my id and my stuff and walked out.
Those people are to brainless to understand business that’s why they are crooks but the joke was on them. They and there shop is a dump and not safe.
STAY CLEAR OR BRING SOMEONE WITH YOU ALONG WITH A CAMERA BECAUSE ITS A RAT RACE IN THERE !!!

I love to frequent pawn shops and thrift stores to see what good deals I can find. This shop is one of the best I’ve been to and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I brought a friend with me last time to sell some gold and she had been shopping it around. They offered her the best price and explained the whole process to her while they were testing it, weighing it and pricing it. They have a board that publicly displays what the current price of gold is and what they are paying. We found them to be very fair and transparent as far as buying gold. I will definitely recommend them to friends after this experience.

Bought a brand new guitar tuner here. Probably the only place to purchase such an item in West/​Downtown Ventura.
