Max Relax

I really enjoy this place. It’s close to my apartment and it’s cost efficient for me and I like the combo massage. I have been here about 3 times now and never dissatisfied. The Camarillo location is great too.
They allow you to choose your intensity which is awesome. And they are very good at checking in to make sure it’s okay. $ 35 for 30 min full body and 30 min foot massage is well worth it.

Was helped right away with no wait. I got a full body massage for 40 mins for $ 26, $ 33 after tip.
They let you circle an intensity level and speed. I chose 5 at slow and received as such. He checked in often to see if pressure was okay. Got into knots in my hips and shoulders with accuracy and purpose.
Was given a frequent buyer card for buy 10 get one free, also a water bottle at the end of my service.
Will defiantly be returning.

Not happy n been here several times … There’s a sign that says QUIET and the employees were all very loud … Also I think they have new people … Would be nice to know they can understand you … Guy gave me a dirty look when I tipped him 4 on 26 … AND didn’t say thank you have a nice day kiss my ass nothing …

This is the first review I’ve ever posted. I should have walked out after it had a bad smell the minute I walked into the facility. I had 2 hours to kill so I decided to stay. I get many massages from 5 star luxury spas to the Chinese foot massage facilities. There was no possible way to relax or unwind at Max massage. Started combo massage/​foot reflexology with one person and 15 minutes into it I was in the middle of an intense 10 minute conversation in Chinese directly above my ears while lying on my stomach with my head through the Massage table. They would not shut up. Then the new therapist answered 2 phone calls from his flip phone. He left me twice on the table to find another employee and who knows what else. He made me change from massage table to chair midway through my massage. I’m exhausted just thinking about this experience. I know you get what you pay for, but I didn’t ask for this chaos when I just wanted to relax! Fortunately for me I had 2 hours to kill and it’s not near my home so I will never have to return again. Don’t waste your money, go somewhere else!

I just love it here. You’ve gotta try it. Clean affordable, friendly Asian salon. If you like deep pressure this is the place for you :). But I specify lighter and they are gracious at accommodating my request. Definitely will keep coming back

Love this place… They don’t speak much English but it’s all good because I got 30 min full body for 21.00. It’s not the most fancy place but it doesn’t matter… It’s all about the quality of the massage. I’m so happy and relaxed right now… Thanks Max Relax

Max Relax off Telephone is great. Today which is the day after my 30 min chair massage my shoulders and neck are sore, but the good kinda sore where they actually did something to get the knots out. Overall, I had a knot in my neck and shoulder and they ground it out. Its better than other places where they just go through the motions and when you leave its like nothing was done. I asked for level 6 – 7 for intensity and i got it!
30 mins for 21 $ and I tipped 6 $ for a 27 $ total. Is there a tipping standard? Wherever i get a massage they always look disappointed like i should tip them 100 $ or something. I tipped 10 $ last time and they were still kinda meh about that. I don’t know but when people get pushy about a tip i don’t want to tip at all.

This is the second time that I went to Max Relax the first time the massage was so rough I walked away feeling more sore than when I went in. I decided to give it a second chance only because i received a gift certificate for my birthday. This time it was just as painful I will never go there again it does not feel good at all it is not relaxing at all and then after the massage was done I didn’t offer a tip and he just looks at me and keeps saying the word tip tip tip and I said no and I left. I also agree with the gal who left a review about swearing the guy was rubbing his junk up on her. I suspected this too.

Awesome massage for $ 35. Lasted about 65 minutes and my back and feet feel excellent. Definitely coming back every couple of weeks.

I have come to this place a number of times over the last year hoping that the next time it will improve. I think I’ve given them enough chances. The male masseurs are insensitive to requests to reduce pressure. Plus, I know this is funny, but I swear they rub their bodies up against me… it grosses me out! Too bad, because it’s the best price in town.

I have always loved acupressure and reflexology does the traditional Chinese way and this place is best for it.
What I love about a massage is when the therapist does not try to engage in a conversation with the client. I hate small talk and here I do not need to do any.
I am definitely going to return to this place.
Loved the cleanliness, the music and the attentiveness of the therapist.

Ask for Jack and bring your iPod and earphones for the best experience — the music they play is horrible !!

If you’re looking for a very mediocre massage, this is your place. The ambience is nice so I gave it a one star. The place is clean and staff is friendly.
Honestly, there are much better places for the same price.

Worst massage experience I’ve ever had in my life. The people in there may not have their licenses. The man that massaged me hurt me more than anything. I actually had to have him stop my massage because he was elbowing my spine with all of his body weight over and over and over. It hurt me pretty badly where I could barely walk after.
I get massages at least once a month and I know a good massage from a bad one. I wouldn’t even call this a massage. More like an elbow session. They did not use their hands or fingers once. It was painful and very unprofessional.
I waited for 20 minutes for my massage. Anytime someone would walk in or the phone would ring, they would stop massage of you to go help the new person– while your clock is still ticking. I was upset when my massage guy was gone for about 2 – 3 minutes on the phone.
The don’t understand English and they also don’t ask where you are hurting. During the massage they also don’t check with you on pressure or comfort. I actually asked him to stop 2x and he just said ok and kept going. I finally had to move off the bed so he understood what I said.
Pay $ 10 more and go to a professional place that is licensed, knows what they are doing and will understand you. This place is nice to look at but you may end up with a hurt back.
Long story short– I left with a hurt back and bruises on my neck. I’m still in pain. I went to a chiropractor to be fixed. The massage place didn’t charge me, but I won’t be back.

I am not much of a massage seeker but after being treated to this place by my girlfriend I can say that I would return without question. The open area, clothing on table massage that I received was great for the price.

Decent massage at a decent price. Been a few times for full body massage (table), just a foot massage and their chair massage. The people are always nice to me. There is never much of a wait. They don’t chat with you — which I really like. I can’t relax into a massage while someone is talking to me… especially someone I don’t know.

For the price it’s a great place to go. No chit chatting, right down to the point!

My body was just wracked from stress as I am recently out on a work comp case for stress and the worry and all other emotions have basically killed my body. I waited too long for massage and everyone’s appointment book was full. So I Googled massages in Ventura and found this one. Every rating was 5 stars so I figured I’d give it a shot.
Called them just before they opened and got to go straight over. At first I thought, this is kinda weird, all the tables are in open rooms – no doors – and then even weirder I didn’t have to disrobe! Never had that happen with a massage in all the years I’ve gotten them so my initial reaction was that I wasn’t going to be happy – but then I decided to be open to it… and lo and behold!
I requested a 6 out of 7 for the deep tissue knowing it was going to hurt but was necessary. I walked out of this place feeling like a million bucks! Every part of my body has hurt for two weeks and in one hour I have ZIP pain! Only a couple of tender spots from the pressure but all my original tension flew out the window! I can see why they have so many 5 star ratings!
They’ve only been open 7 months but I would totally recommend them to anyone looking for a good massage if you don’t mind that your actual skin isn’t being massaged. I’ll just have to get my boy toy to do that for me! LOL
$ 35 bucks for an hour! I’ll be back for sure, thank you Max Relax! The dude kicked a**! :)
