Lure Fish House

Okay, how am I just getting to this! Shame on me…
Definitely the highlight of our visit to Ventura. Lure is located downtown and offers great food and service at very reasonable prices. Their happy hour menu is expansive and was by far, one of the best I’ve had. So many options! Love it!
We sat at the bar, which worked out perfectly as the place started to fill up not long after we arrived. Our bartender Randy was awesome — he took excellent care of us. Oh, and he makes the BEST mixed berry mojito!!! I’m not a drinker and I had 2! That’s saying something.
The other dishes we ordered were spectacular — clam chowder, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, strawberry spring salad, and chargrilled oysters. My first experience with chargrilled oysters was at Drago’s in NOLA, so the bar was high. Lure’s were good but not as good as Drago’s. The price point, though, was very reasonable. If you love chowder, you’re in for a treat! They have both New England and Manhattan, so you have options or you can have half & half. We tried both and while the Manhattan is good, the New England is much, much better.
The salad was so good that my husband, who absolutely hates vegetables, can’t stop talking about it. Yeah, it was that good — and sweet.
There is metered parking in front of the restaurant and we were able to score a spot right in front of the restaurant. WIN!
I definitely recommend Lure and we have every intention of returning as soon as possible!

Hemos cenado en la terraza con una música de fondo a la altura óptima y un play list genial. Las ostras y el pescado a la plancha buenísimos, como los contornos: atención a las coles de Bruselas y la ensalada de quinoa. Y el postre: el cheesecake una maravilla.
Aparte, la carta de vinos amplia y a buenos precios. Ah, y sirven cenas hasta tarde (por lo menos las 22:00 en verano)
