Overall the gym equipment was ok, old school.

This place Rocks. I’ve trained @ pretty much every Gym in the County. This Gym is by far my favorite so far. Its open 24 7 so never any lines to wait in. The staff is Outstanding, the Equipment is Top notch… I Highly recommend it

This is a great gym. ²⁴⁄₇ access, lots of fancy new cardio stuff, a TON of machines, a power rack, monolift, two benches, and a deadlift platform. There’s lots of extras, too– the gym works with a mobile hydro body fat testing operation that comes by a few times a year, and hosts powerlifting meets a couple times a year. One of the things that make this gym really shine is the great community Larry and the others have built at this gym. Its definitely has the intimate feel of a private gym, but everyone is really friendly and helpful. If I’m not feeling great, I know I can just plop down in the office and chat with Larry and the trainers he has on staff. On that topic, the trainers here are awesome– they’re all competitive powerlifters with a multitude of certifications, awards, and more than a few records. Definitely the best gym in the county!

The best gym in Ventura county, featuring a variety of powerlifting, bodybuilding, and cardio machines. The staff and regulars are some of the most friendly non d-​bag types I’ve ever met at the gym.
If you want a bit of a more hardcore vibe (loud weights, rap, metal, intensity) this is the gym for you!!!

Firstly this is a true gym. A far cry from the crowded cookie cutter nonsense. It’s one of the only gyms I’ve ever seen that has a deadlift platform. They have so many weight machine options it’s absurd. Absolutely no waiting to use equipment. Tons of free weights with plenty of benches. This is also the most uncrowded gym I’ve ever seen. Don’t be surprised to be by yourself in here. There’s a great vibe also. More like a «hey what’s up?» instead of «you done with that yet bro?» You get a free one week trial and a free one hour training session with sign up. You get your own keycard with ²⁴⁄₇ access. So if you want to chat while waiting in line for a cardio machine there’s plenty of LA, Bally, 24s, and other corporate gyms to join. Otherwise, support independent and give KO a try.

This would be a great place to work out if you were a ninja turtle: it’s dark, smelly, and stuck in the 80’s.
Not a ladies gym. It’s mostly underground with no windows so the smell just sits. NO ELLIPTICALS or real row machine and the bathroom is gross. My favorite part was probably the ridiculous 80’s posters everywhere. Staff was nice enough.

I’m totally sore today, in all the right places, thanks to fantastic training by Jessica at KO Gym.
The hubs and I had been members at 24 Hour for a loooong time and still were, when, on a whim, we wandered into KO Gym in February of 2014. A sweet, petite woman told us to «come on in and look around». She showed us the equipment, answered a lot of my questions on a bunch of the weight machines. We decided this would be a great place to join.
After working out here for 6 months, I finally get the opportunity to have that sweet, petite lady as a trainer! During our training sessions, Jessica is great. She speaks to me at my knowledge level (which is about intermediate, but I can tell from her questions that she tailors her trainings.) She is always very clear and careful while we train.
She has really upped my training game. Not only does she help me perfect my form on the machines I already know and love, she has shown me a ton of machines and exercises I have shied away from (or didn’t know of) in the past. Plus, training with her is fun.
Even on the days when I lift weights without her, I am motivated to push myself, just that teeny bit heavier and I can feel the muscles getting toned, long and lean. Well worth the time and expense to get this woman to get your butt into shape at a gym that has a ton of great apparatus for lifters, new and pro alike!

After being a member of 24 hour Fitness and LA Fitness for more than a decade, I stumbled into KOGYM after I received a flyer. I took the try out and was immediately hooked. When you walk in, it looks a bit overwhelming with all of the lifting equipment. So much more than the cookie cutter gyms. I’ve been going for a few months now, and I can see the improvements and have broken through plateaus now that I’m actually using the right equipment (dumbbells that go past 80lbs). I have a bizarre schedule, so I show up at all hours of the day, and the place is always pumping great music. The people who work out there are there to train, not stand around and talk, the staff (Larry, Jessica are all super friendly and helpful, but never pushy). It’s not hyperbole to say that this is my favorite gym of all time. It actually makes me want to go to the gym, knowing that they have all that great equipment. I’m hooked.

I LOVE this gym! If you actually want to lift and get a great session in, this is the place. :)

Love it here. Larry, the owner is a top notch professional, seasoned, honest business owner and trainer. This is a true training gym. Very pleased, as I’ve been in the other gyms in town and was not impressed. Thank you Larry for a fabulous addition to our community.

Old school machines… heavier weight… true gym. Better then Hollywood an mavericks for lifting

I went in the other day for a tour and I found the gym dirty, it lacked music throughout the facility, and waited a fair amount of minutes until I received any customer service. The rep that «helped» me made it difficult and uncomfortable throughout the tour. Ancient equipment reeked the place and was too close each other, which I find very hazardous and unsanitary. I left the gym without any motivation to come back. If anyone’s interested in taking repetitive tetanus shots, buying unlimited hand sanitizer, and doesn’t mind plumbing the women’s restroom. This is your place.
Hint: If you smile, you’ll stick out like a sore thumb.

The best way to describe KO GYM is a place that delivers an exceptional product by people who truly care. This is a place where you have every tool you need to get what you want, which WILL yield results. KO is a gym that cuts out the traditional corporate BS and focuses on the only thing that matters, the customer. I have always believed that a gym should be a place where you can not only have fun and get a great workout in, but a place that acts as a community similar to a massive family. This is what KO offers and coupled with its passionate owners and trainers, is really a gym you cannot find anywhere else.
