Down in Ventnor for the weekend and stopped by this store for a few things since Unilocal said it was the closest to where I was staying. Produce section had a ton of fruit flies flying around the fruit. When I proceeded to the deli, I walked up right as 2 employees were having a heated argument… I thought a gunfight was going to break out behind the deli. It was pretty ridiculous — the manager even came back to reprimand them. Also need to mention it was about 15 degrees in the store and it was very very high priced.

Foraging for food in the zombie suburban apocalypse of New Jersey. Living in NYC we do have supermarkets but due to lack of space most of them are on the small side, cramped, and claustrophobic as compared to those out in suburbia. This Pathmark is a pretty large store. I dropped in here during my week in Atlantic City to pick up some things for the room fridge. Why pay the high price for casino water and breakfast items when you can get it at a supermarket for half the price, and also eat healthier too? They have pretty much everything here you can ask for. Clean and organized enough. Plenty of items on the shelves. A lot of checkout counters. Had no problem finding what I needed after help from the staff pointing me in the right direction. Supermarkets this size confuse me nowadays. Large enough parking lot with plenty of spots. It was not crowded at all when I was here in the middle of the day. Still, I would never live in the scary suburbs. Been there, done that. I’ll stick with crazy crowded Fairway or Trader Joes in Manhattan!

Terrible customer service. Only giving two stars because of convinence. The self service registers don’t work well. Very exspensive for a supermarket. I only use this place as a emergency.

I was there a couple of weeks ago & they don’t use the Pathmark Advantage card for discounts. The prices seemed much higher than Starns Shoprite & quite a few items that I frequently buy weren’t on sale as in Starns. I stopped patronizing the store for many months because of the conduct of a rude employee. I went to the courtesy desk around 7:30 A. M & an older female employee who was very short, around 4 feet tall didn’t even stop to talk to me when I asked about if it was opened. Walking past me in a hurry like she didn’t want to be bothered called out it’s not opened yet, with a nasty attitude & a very unhappy miserable face. That’s one of the reasons I didn’t go back in a long time. It’s more convenient for me going there as it’s close by. With rude employees like that with a nasty attitude, along with a miserable face, & a lot of items much more expensive than Starns, won’t be back unless it’s necessary.

Nothing great . Insane amount of fruit flies in the produce section. Accidentally purchased a fruit fly with my onions and herbs & had to spend two days fighting them off in my kitchen wtf ! Not very clean, looked conditionally satisfactory to me . Oh — during double coupon week I got completely played out because the mailer said they«double coupons up to .99» which in all of my previous experiences has meant they would double a coupon of any amount up to .99(ie a coupon for $ 1.50 coupon would go through and an additional .99 for the double coupon event) but they only double coupons .99 or lower. Can’t remember the last time I saw a coupon for less than $ 1. I only go here as a last resort now. Would rather go to Margate or off shore to get groceries.

Best… hoagie…anywhere. This is NOT a review of the grocery store. As far as I am concerned, a grocery store is a grocery store when it comes to 90% of what they sell. The other 10% is where markets differ — the deli and the precooked food. So Pathmark has little to none of the latter. If you want that, go to Genuardis or Wegmans. But the Deli is fantastic — quality meats and fish(superb nova lox!), quality cuts and the BEST hoagies you will find anywhere. Anywhere? Yes, anywhere… well, of course until someone presents me with something I deem as better. So they provide premade hoagies on the shelf, which are not bad if you are in a rush, but they are made with American cheese… ewwww. A true hoagie is made with Provolone cheese in my book. You should only be able to slightly notice the cheese(as is the case with Provolone), not be overwhelmed by it(which is the case with American). So, it is best if you ask the people behind the counter to have one custom made — which they will gladly do. So several things stand out about their hoagies. 1) Most importantly, the bread. It is perfect bread. Tasty, not too hard but not lacking a hard-ish shell, easy to bite(read: mushy center). 2) They weigh out the meat to a set, VERY respectable amount(as opposed to having precut slices wherein the number of slices is counted as with most places, especially Subway). 3) The onions and tomotoes are sliced just perfect… I mean PERFECT. Perfect thickness. 4) The sizes! Half is one foot, whole is two feet. 5) The price… sheesh. $ 4 for a half, $ 6 for a whole. The mixture of good cuts, quality meats, excellent bread, perfect vegetables, great prices and excellent taste makes for something that I absolutely look forward to when I visit Atlantic City. People who come to Atlantic City rave about White House subs and Sack O’ Subs. To those people I say: «try Pathmark». By the way, I always get roast beef hoagies. This is not as a means to grade a hoagie joint, but you can definitely tell the quality of a hoagie joint based on the quality of its roast beef. Junkier joints(especially Subway) have drier, less-red roast beef. Higher quality places have juicier, redder roast beef. Pathmark’s roast beef is red and very juicy.

A large budget oriented grocery store, clean and does the job. Don’t expect to find lots of fancy stuff here, but the prices are good. Given the area that the store serves, I imagine many customers may be on rather tight budgets. They have a decent selection of Latino foods(like the Goya products, and produce section has yucca, plantains, plenty of other good stuff), some Kosher/Hebrew foods, and other specialty market products. some of the checkout lines are«bag it yourself» ones which I guess is part of the way they keep their prices lower. the store itself is quite clean but the parking lot has a lot of trash, it would be nice if they would clean it more often, although let’s face it the presence of trash in the parking lot suggests some of the customers are slobs. trash belongs in trash cans people!!!
