Attended a Venice Family Clinic fundraising event at the G2 Gallery. It’s an intimate(read: small) gallery space in Venice that’s kind of easy to miss if you’re walking along Abbot Kinney. I don’t know how receptive I would be to just perusing the gallery with wine, cheese, and good company/conversation. ART — The exhibit includes nature photos, e.g., trees, canyons, land and water animals. My favorite was the fox photo and penguin photo. SPACE — Wooden floors with immediate stairs upon entering that leads to multiple little rooms in an otherwise open space.

I had the good fortune to be a Day of Wedding Coordinator for a ceremony and cocktail reception at the G2 Gallery and I must say, this is a great venue for an intimate event. The staff(especially Elise) was very helpful and could not do enough to help in this event. From putting water in lanterns for flowers to emptying trash and clearing tables with me, throughout the event. This was something that is not in their contract, but when the need arose, she pitched in and helped make sure the guest had a great time in a clean environment. From start to finish, the entire staff was there to support the event in a professional and caring manner. As this was their first ceremony, and was a last minute change, I would say it was beautiful and the back drop of art to the couples wedding pictures will be treasured for life. Again, Elise stepped up and helped make this change happen with me. I can say that she is an amazing internal coordinator to work with and I hope to have the pleasure again. So with that said, please tour this gallery for your special intimate event, you will not be disappointed! Bindy Crystal & Lace

I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful of a venue/gallery this location is! My husband and I held our wedding ceremony and reception at the gallery this past weekend and it was amazing! The gallery is very spacious, clean and can hold up to about 200 people. The management, especially Elise, is PHENOMONAL. I couldn’t have imagined any other place to celebrate my wedding with friends and family. All the guests raved about the location and artwork. The gallery is ½ a mile from the beach and is in a prime location of Venice where there is always something going on. Don’t pass up your chance to throw a event, party or wedding at the G2 Gallery or just stop in to view the artwork! It’s beautiful and I was beyond impressed with how everything turned out!

This is my favorite place to view art in all of Los Angeles. I love the wildlife photography that is on display and the store as well. Elise who manages the operations and events is wonderful to work with too. I can’t wait for their Film Festival later this year.

G2 Gallery is a hidden treasure on Abbot Kinney! As I was walking down Abbot Kinney, I stopped in to this store that had cute journals and durable water coolers, etc. While I was browsing, I heard a piano playing loudly. I thought it was a jazz club, getting ready for a Friday night. When I asked, the cashier told me that the noise was coming from the Art Gallery upstairs and that they were preparing for an event. He said it was open to the public, so I made my way on up! The gallery itself is very pretty. Nice wood floors, the rooms are very open– it works and allows flow. This exhibit was on animals/wildlife and nature. Absolutely beautiful pieces. I will follow up with G2 Gallery to see when more events are being held. I look forward to see many other exhibits to come!

What a nice little haven in the crazy part of Abbot Kinney! I’ve literally passed this gallery quite a few times with a passing thought that I really need to go inside to check it out. I actually thought it was just another store until today. I walked past as I always do but this time I turned back around and decided to go in! What a surprise to find that it’s not just a gift store but also a gallery! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly associate sitting behind the counter. He informed me that if I went up the stairs I could check out the gallery. I bet a lot of people don’t know that it’s a gallery and they have someone stationed there just in case. That and to mind the store of course. The store itself has some fun items for kids or for myself. I really loved the time I was able to spend in the gallery. It felt like a world away from the street and was so quiet and peaceful. There are multiple rooms with different artists spread out. The largest was a bit odd though because there are two desks in there with people working. Other than that it was a nice break from a normal busy workday. Currently there is a photography exhibit but they switch out exhibits every six weeks. So glad I decided to turn around and check this place out. Wish I had done so earlier!

I produce 5 Truths and a Lie which is a storytelling show. We have been doing our show at G2 gallery since March of 2011 and have never considered doing it anywhere else in L.A. The space itself is perfect for our show. Nice, well lit, intimate. It’s a great experience for our storytellers and our audience. Our guests love the photography at the gallery and many have said that they end up going back when there isn’t a show so they can take a look at the art. Besides aesthetics, one of the great things about using the space is the staff. They play a big part in our decision to use G2. They are incredibly helpful and have gone above and beyond at each of our shows. I can’t say enough great things about G2 :)

Very cool gallery somewhat hidden in Abbot Kinney. The location is obvious, but it’s never busy inside. The gift shop is downstairs when you walk in, but the gallery is upstairs. They support local artists with monthly shows, events and silent auctions. It’s a nice space that is very quiet, but feels like it’s your own space. I like what they’re doing and we usually stop here each time we come by. Once in a while they even have some free snacks upstairs which is a nice surprise!

G2 is a very comprehensive up to date photographic gallery. The gallery regularly features well known outstanding photographic genius whose works are interesting, exciting and beautiful. The attendants are well informed, friendly and helpful. Check with the staff as their openings are like a mini festival. Many occasions if not all there is either a live musician or a special speaker featured. I call the gallery or check on the internet.

Can’t believe I never wrote a review on this place… It’s AWESOME! That is, if you like a place with amazing photos of nature and events that raise money for the environment – including live music, light refreshments, even the occasional dance lesson. Yay, G2!

After moving to LA, G2 became a stop-in spot every time we walked around Abbot Kinney. I love the nature photography and that they support nature & environmental non-profits. It’s a warm, light space and lacks the industrial feeling of many galleries, which is a nice change of pace. They also host events from time to time, including private parties. They are definitely worth wandering into!

I have attended more than a few events here over the past two years, mainly openings for photographer friends of mine. And I can honestly say that each visit has been a great experience. Whether you are the artist with a show up, a potential buyer, a friend of an artist or someone walking in to enjoy some photographic art the staff treats everyone with the same warmth and friendliness. The downstairs gift shop is well run and well stocked with affordable prints and other items in case the larger originals are out of ones price range. The gallery upstairs is very spacious and has a great look and feel. The fact that they donate all proceeds to conservation and environmental causes is the topping on the cake. Go to an opening… or just stop in to check out some fantastic art… you will enjoy yourself.

The G2 gets thumbs up for the concept(nature photography gallery to inspire and support conservation), the atmosphere(spacious feel despite a fairly small footprint; lots of great stuff packed in, without feeling overwhelming), the staff(very knowledgeable and friendly), and of course, the gallery(I’ve had the pleasure of visiting on several occasions, and there are always fantastic new displays). Stop by, definitely worthwhile!

ENTER For FREE! YES:) Always good, right? Ok, let me make something clear: I am giving the photography a 4 stars. The Gallery gets a 5 stars from me I am not so much of a Nature Photography person:(Sorry! The Gallery is incredible! I have also attended a couple of openings and shows(first Fridays of the month and I have loved it). Great musicians come here. 1. You walk in and a smiling friendly hip gal/guy greets you:) 2. The first floor is the gift-shop and I must say that I Ioooove the jewelry they pick for their shop. The rings and necklaces are wonderful! WOW– Each time, I wish I had more money on me. They always feature local artists who use environmental friendly materials. Last time they had some soap. Great for birthday gifts. 3. Walk up the stairs and a wonder world awaits you! Even though I have often thought that nature photography is tooo pretty for my taste, this place recently changed my mind. It’s worth going to see the large prints, great lighting, and hard wood floors. It’s a wonderful space. 4. Knowledgeable, beautiful, and brilliant staff! ****Shhh**** but I think I have a crush on the people here… oooops did I just write that for all the world to know? 5. I might have left out the best part: The G2 Gallery donates all their proceeds to environmental causes. Awesome, no? Oh and it’s on Abbot Kinney– Come on now, I love this street.

A night out with a certain plus one brought us out towards Venice. As we walked around, we came across the Gallery. Said date(a journalist and admirer of nature) brought me in here as a detour before our foodings. Upstairs in this lofty little gallery you will find various gorgeous pictures and paintings of wildlife and nature. Many of the pictures were taken right here in California. Some have political ties to them or are of endangered species. All of the prints were gorgeous. The space is very modern and open. The main portion of the gallery is up the stairs. Downstairs is a gift shop. A great little stop that seems to be missed. So when you’re out that way for the First Friday… take a stop by. Or do what the gentleman of the night did and bring a date. It will make you want to stop and enjoy the scenery more often.

Went last Saturday for the reception for the show Where the Wild Things Grow. Downstairs is a gift shop. Upstairs is the gallery. They showed a number of photographers, many of whom used large format cameras. I particularly liked the landscapes. Ansel Adams may be the the most famous large format photographer. The photographs were similar to those I’ve seen at the Bertrand Gallery in La Jolla and the Rodney Lough Collection at Aria in Vegas, but not quite the quality. Not that this is a bad thing: these pieces were priced far below Bertrand and Lough at $ 1000 to $ 4000. Another reviewer commented that they print on canvas. This may explain why the prints seemed to lack the luster and resolution you expect with large format photography. G2 Gallery knows how to host a reception. Complimentary valet parking(pretty handy in conjested Venice), numerous trays of a variety of gourmet passed hors d’oeuvres, hosted wine bar(ant they were not pouring Shaw), and a band. Although I probably could’ve done without the band. Amazingly the victuals lasted until the end of the event. Needless to say I signed up for their email list and plan on returning.

*** Not-for-Profit art to support nature? *** Ok, that is so CA … and just plain cool. Work here is mostly photographic prints. Kinda hard to paint a lion in the wild?(lol) However, several images are then printed on canvas to eliminate use of the petro chemicals req’d in photo dev process. Bravo! I like the ideas that founded G2 gallery. All proceeds from sales are contributed to wildlife and environmental protection organizations that fight for preservation. Now animals and trees gotta friend, G2. *** Live music tonite + tomorrow too. ***
