Great fried potatoes! Toast could use an upgrade but the coffee is good! Friendly service. Probably have eaten here 150 times in the last 15 – 20 years. Don’t go on Sunday unless you’re prepared to wait. Love love love the corned beef hash! And the southwest scramble is delish!

First time at Patches in Venice. Breakfast was terrible, bacon wasn’t cooked and the male waiter was absolutely rude along with the other waitresses. Being such a small restaurant, it was quite crowded and not sure whether it would pass the fire code.

It’s been a while since anyone has reviewed Patches. It’s still good food. Plenty of it! There are even less creepy clowns. I overheard the waitress tell someone there were too many to dust! But don’t get here later then 1:50 cause they turn you away telling you it’s closed! Also at 1:15 there is no more Ice Tea cause the owner says they are about to close so she won’t make anymore. The waitress also let’s you know at 1:15 that they have no desserts cause they are about to close. I have never understood how a restaurant can survive with this attitude!

OK — I know we’re not far from the Ringling Bros winter grounds and Ringling estate, but yeah the clown décor is a bit much. Can you get past that to eat some good grub? If you can — get there right way, come hungry and prepared to strap on the feedbag! Our crew had various iterations of biscuits/home fries and gravy, SOS, pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc. Portions are GIGANTE mi amigo. Service is not bad considering was very busy for mid morning breakfast — and I think some of the servers and bussers(and probably the owners) are former carnies. Who cares when the grub is this good. If you want crispy potatoes — make sure you specify that. Excellent orders — but the SOS was deemed FAIR. I’ll be back and will make certain I’m famished!

Old style diner with a friendly staff serving old standard style food. Once you get past the clown décor(at least, the staff doesn’t have to wear the clown costumes any longer like they once did LOL), you can admire the hand painted seasonal windows. The breakfasts are huge if you order the hash browns with eggs & meat. I usually substitute a fruit cup or tomatoes for the fries. No arguments when I ask which is nice. The staff really hustles here & delivers with a smile. It ‘s a fast food place without a drive-in, but much tastier. Lunches are tasty too. Very reasonably priced.

Mehhh. Ended up there by mistake this morning(Sunday). The place was full of cackling women and the noise level was through the roof. We should have left right then. But no, we are such gluttons for punishment… Our waitress really did not have a clue. We ordered coffee and I sent mine back straightaway because it was sooo bad. Then we ordered our food. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. Others came in and were seated, ordered their food and received it loooong before ours came. I wanted to just walk out because I was getting nothing but negative vibes from the place. Just as I hit my «last straw», our food arrived. The waitress just plunked it down and left. No water refill for me and no coffee refill for DH. The food was okay, but nothing special. I finally flagged down a different waitress and told her that I really needed some water and she did NOT seem happy about that. A few minutes later she came back and plunked down a warm glass of water on the table. The check arrived and the waitress had charged me for that coffee that I sent back. DH just wanted to get out of there so he paid for it anyway. NEVERAGAIN, Patches. Once burned is enough for us. Train your staff before you put them on the floor. And check out all of the wonderful coffees that are now available. Really.

Had breakfast there on a Sunday morning.(Not a good time to go) The place is very small, not very clean and the food was so so. Would not eat there again.

Aside from the creepy clowns EVERYWHERE, Patches is a delight. The service is efficient and friendly and the food, while not over-the-top-amazing, is good. We were there on a Monday morning and were the youngest people by about 50 years, other than the young kid eating with his grandpa. But considering it was a work/school day, it was pretty busy! There is a decent selection of healthy options(including Egg Beaters or egg whites), but plenty of not-so-healthy options as well(biscuits, Belgian waffles, etc.). My sis & I both opted for omelets with Egg Beaters, toast and home fries(good call on my sis for ordering hers well-done!). The omelets were HUGE, but we both devoured everything. The toast came with butter slathered all over it, which is tasty, but I would have preferred it without the butter. The home fries were well-seasoned and plentiful. Our husbands both got the Belgian waffles and there was not a crumb left on either plate. Overall — you get a large amount of decent food. Is it the most glamorous place in the most charming location? No. But if you’re looking for a nice, casual place where you can get free coffee refills and enjoy a good meal — this is the place!

I adore Patches. The clown décor is a bit creepy but its par for the course in this restaurant named after the clown Patches. The menu is actually very diverse for such a tiny little place. Its always packed, and service is very good and friendly. Their eggs benedict is very good — highly recommended. Prices are extremely reasonable.
