This is a hidden gem in Venice Beach. Best mexican restaurant hands down. It’s one of those hole in a wall that serves authentic homemade mexican food. I love their chicken enchilada. The Chicken Cocido is also awesome but to be honest everthing i’ve ordered here has been so good that we visit this place very frequently. The place doesn’t serve liquor but BYOB is allowed. The salsa and chips are complimentary on every order and are so good! Note: They just recently moved to Main St.

I came with my friend on Jan. 20. It’s a family business. They served awesome dishes and service in the area — Nancy(daughter of the owner) gave us the best service. For those never checked out this place, their fish tacos is a MUST-TRY. I ordered their traditional brava dish though. I have talked to Nancy about why they have to move. It’s quite sad though. Fortunately, their new address is just 1 – 2 blocks away. Their new address: 259 Hampton Drive, Venice. P/s: will come back whenever I come to Venice.

Can only vouch for the chicken soup here but it keeps us coming back! Fantastic comfort food, especially if you’re not feeling well. Small parking lot next door is a big bonus.

La Fiesta Brava is right down the street from my house but I had only been there once. I had my in laws in town looking for good fish tacos and read the reviews on Unilocal. The fish tacos are amazing for the price, location, and quality. Yumm! Definitely recommend.

Yummy and cheap. Two item combo under 8 bucks, chips included. Small and funky: interior décor includes galvanized tubs hanging from the ceiling. You walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. These are good things. A mint after your meal? Naw. A stick of gum. ¿Contento? ¡Si, soy contento!

Oh garsh. Aye’ Garche’. Así que satisfactorio. Con un menú compuesto por éxitos mexicanos y algunas rarezas maravillosos, puede esperar a desabrocharse los pantalones cerca del momento en que llegue el cheque. Super friendly peeps work there. The true hits are as followed: 1. Chicken Stew — kinda like a Mexican chicken soup. It’s filled with a ton large sized vegetables and is seasoned so hard. 2. Mole’ — thick with a perfect grainy texture. A keen mole. 3. Carnitas + chips — a suggestion of crumbling these awesome stiff tortillas over the succulent juicy meat shreds would help one to achieve«Carnivana» Hey, you need more? You can byob and there is a weed store right near by. The prices are low and perfect and the food is so fresh. The area is awesome and in part because of this place. Paintings and décor end looks nifty. And if you’re only judging from Unilocal pics, at least judge from mine. I hope it stays for a long time to come, but for now I just say awwwwwwwwwwwww yummmmmm.

Love this Venice beach staple. I really hope it doesn’t close and get turned into another east coast wannabe place. For $ 10 you can leave filled up. Great service with a smile. Will continue to support their business until they’re actually out.

You’ve officially stumbled upon the best authentic Mexican restaurant on the west side. Don’t let the run down hole in the wall look on the outside fool you. Walk inside, and it’s like you’ve been transported to your favorite Tia’s kitchen with uncle Tito serving some of the best chicken tacos you’ve ever feasted upon. Don’t get me started on the Caldo(soup), I had to check if my abuelita was in the back, it was that authentic tasting. Service it great, salsa is even better. Prices are more than fair. Only been here a handful of times and I’m sure to become a regular. Best of all, you’re supporting the last locally owned restaurant on the street. Help stop the gentrification!

Sam, our waiter, was AWESOME. The sea bass was fresh and perfectly prepared. His recommendation. I need to go back for fajitas, which smelled amazing. I saw a sign about«save fiesta brava» and asked sam about it. he said check out the FB page for info. here’s the link. I’m a fan the delicious food and friendly service, so I’m going to do what I can to help them out. also, the ranchero décor throughout the restaurant was enchanting. I kinda wanted to take some of it home. :)

This place is on rose so try finding parking in the residential area and then walk over. This place is super quiet and doesn’t look all hipped out like all the brunch places around, but the food is yum. Its a lot of carbs and totally fills you up. The cook is super nice and so are the waiters. The food comes out pretty quick as well. We tend to bring out own containers to save our leftovers so they don’t need to user theirs. I have tried their #10, 12, and 14. Probably some other stuff too. They do not sell alcohol here, you can find that all around you instead outside of this joint… LITERALLY. All the brunch places around were selling alcohol so drink there instead. This place is more for a family feel, quiet eating area.

Veggie Burrito: Scrumptious. Salsa*: Delish. Service: Perfect. *Would love to see them swap out white onions for red. White onions are so wonder-bread ghetto.) And dice ‘em up suuuuuper tiny.

Been coming here since I was a little baby with my parents and ever since I’ve still been coming, you can’t go wrong with anything here the food is delicious and fresh I recommend the mix fajitas and camarons rancheros which are my favorites there so delicious and also you can bring your own beer but here’s the catch you pay for your chips and salsa which isn’t bad at all and the people are here are so friendly and family owned. Sadly they might shut this place down since the landlord sold it to someone else without notifying this local favorite restaurant :(#savelafiestabrava #savemytaco

Since I started dating my «then-boyfriend, now-husband», who used to live next door, I have visited you innumerable times. You have never let me down. My order has only varied by the number of fish tacos. 1 or 2. My last visit was with 9 friends. You told me to come on in– that it wouldn’t be a problem. It wasn’t. You’re so inexpensive and so delicious. Please don’t go. Love, Tanya

Of all my Unilocaling experience, I’ve only been disastrously let down by Unilocal ratings twice, this place being one of them. I was craving nachos and some friends and I were headed to Venice. So I thought… why not let’s eat somewhere in Venice and find a new spot. BAD decision lol. I feel bad writing negative reviews based solely on food but they only reason I came here was because of their high rating. Had the chicken nachos and asada burrito… which in my opinion should be hard to get wrong. Usually I judge Mexican joints by their carne asada because that is the most basic restaurant staple and also my fav. Chicken nachos: meh. The chicken was like stewed in tomato sauce and bell peppers and was shredded… never had nachos w stewed chicken because it gets the chips really soggy… Also it had enchilada sauce on it(wt…) Asada burrito: lukewarm. All that was in it was beans and asada. Asada was prettttttttty bad. Chewy, lukewarm, pretty big pieces that were not uniform at all and no flavor whatsoever. I had to add salt on a «wet» burrito. Also I have no idea wth sauce it was floating in… Like a light orange tasteless sauce. Total waste of money. I guess you can’t trust Unilocal when you are in Venice trying to go to a Mexican restaurant LOL

This place has a small menu and decent food. The friends I went with who got enchiladas were pretty happy, as was the gf with her camarones diablos. I had a steak quesadilla, which was solid but nothing special. It’s a good Mexican place and I can see why people are drawn to the BYOB. It’s small and out of the way, though, so I’ll probably keep looking for«my spot» elsewhere.

I was initially really pumped about going to this place because I thought I could get delicious cheap Mexican food and drink all the liquor I could carry in. As soon as I got there, I noticed a sign that simply stated«No Alcoholic Beverages.» Wasn’t sure if that meant they didn’t serve any or we could no longer bring any in. Turns out, both. Hahaha. I ordered the non-alcoholic sangria before realizing this along with my shrimp burrito. The shrimp burrito came with a bunch of random veggies I wouldn’t expect in a burrito like cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini and carrots. It sounds odd but it somehow really worked. I didn’t get rice so the whole meal was really light and satisfying. Good amount of shrimp too. They don’t have horchata, alcohol or tamales. What they did have was good, but were missing some essentials of the Mexican cuisine experience.
