If you like simple and fast this is your place. Actually cooks eggs over easy which I have found uncommon in a lot of restaurants. Potatoes were just right and the bacon was perfect. The price point is spot on and the service was excellent. What else is there?

Don’t come here if you want fancy. This is just straight-up diner«home cooking.» It was well worth coming back to, each morning we were in town. Best corned-beef hash I’ve had in a long time.

Another visit to Venice in 2014 and Bud’s is still there serving up a decent and cheap breakfast in the same hole in the wall. Time seems to stand still here at Bud’s and indeed the rest of the city of Venice as well…

Her name is Sarah and she runs the front like a pro. Fox News just makes it better The cook is a chef without the tall white hat. Buds is what ma and pa restaurants used to be like-friendly and homey.

Great Breakfast/Lunch stop in Venice. Tight operation, it will seat about 30 people, but the waitress(BarBara?) is a force of nature. She never stops moving for a second. Turnover is pretty quick and it seems the tables are always full. Breakfast is Cheap, but the food is good. One morning I had the Corned beef hash, 2 eggs and home fries, and get this, it wasn’t out of the can. The hash was home made and very good, not greasy The home fries are done on the flat grill not deep fried. The eggs were scrambled to my liking. Coffee is quite good, and the cup is bottomless. Another Morning I had the French toast with cinnamon. It was very good and a large order(6 half slices of bread) and bacon was $ 4.50. We didn’t get to try the place for lunch, but I would expect the same quality and service. They are only open till 1:30 in the afternoon weekdays and even shorter hours on the weekend. But if you are in town I highly recommend it. If nothing else, just watch the hardest working, most efficient waitress I’ve ever seen. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 rating is the tv is set on Fox News, but that is a half point deduction at best.
