Beautiful venue with a knowledgeable friendly staff. The atmosphere was very hospitable. It’s close enough to other venues that it will be included on future tours. Check out their website, they have wine camp coming up august 1

Good wine(especially the Pinot and Riesling) and great live music and food from Comforts food cart on Friday evenings. Definitely a great way to spend a beautiful summer evening enjoying their beautiful property. I just joined their wine club, so I expect to be back again soon.

I’ve been to Domaine Meriwether Winery a number of times for work events and it’s been consistently wonderful. The winery is very beautiful, with it’s secluded location and grassy fields decorated with an assortment of picnic tables facing the extensive rows of grape vines. I’ve had the pleasure of catching some magnificent summer sunsets at this location. The winery’s building has the architecture similar to that of a barn, a spacious, high-ceilinged room with lots of natural light, and wine barrels sacked along the walls and in the back. A small tasting bar located close to the entryway offers guests the chance to sample the variety of wines along with a purchase of cupcakes and various other sweet treats. Known for their sparkling wines, their 2000 Prestige Rose Cuvee Sparkling Wine is delicious! Another favorite of mine is their 2011 Riesling, light and sweet, it’s quite refreshing. Aside from the yummy beverages, one of my favorite things about this winery are the staff. They are beyond friendly, very knowledgable about their products, and make for great conversationalists. With it’s gracious staff, flavorful wines, and breathtaking views, Domaine Meriwether is certainly a worthwhile stop for a day of wine tasting!

I cannot express enough praise for this wonderful slice of heaven. The staff are all top notch and if you get him at the right time the owner Buzz is a hoot. I feel special everytime I enter the tasting room!:

Domaine Meriwether is Fantastic! I tried coming out here in August, but they were closed for updating their networks. Came back on a recent autumn getaway and this place was a great secret. They have plans in the next five years to open an amazing wine-tasting location — –similar to King Estate. Currently they do wine-tasting in their warehouse. Nothing fancy… but they specialize in sparkling wine. Their wine tasting is complimentary and they serve a full flight. Our hostess Laura was very knowledgeable about wine, and even gave us a lesson on oak barreling and processing. She was very fun to talk to. I had a very pleasant experience here, and hope to be back. Next time I’m going to give into pleasure and buy more wine! It’s well worth the trip.

Had a great first trip out to Domaine Meriwether’s this evening(that’s the«new» Secret House, to long-time Yewjeanians). Be forewarned, you’ve gotta find this place from Hwy 126. If you turn to GPS, it’s gonna tell you to go the back way – which is non-existent. DM has been in the wine-making biz for awhile now(12 years, according to their website), but the venture to the Venetian property(gosh, that’s fun to say!) is a relatively new one. From the looks of the plans on display at the tasting room tonight, this is only the beginning. A new club room, space for wedding ceremonies, and all new paving(thank god!) is in the works and significant construction is slated to begin shortly after the new year. My group enjoyed everything we tasted, but were particularly fond of both the Captain Clark Vintage Cuvée and the 2005 Pinot noir. There were several wines and vintages to taste and, I have to say, it is just plain exciting to have a vintner doing sparkling wines down here in the SWV. Looking forward to seeing the next phase of construction! With the location where it is(directly off Hwy 126, heading to the coast… right next to the OCF), it’s hard to imagine DM not having tremendous success. I know I’ll be back.
