Working in College Housing, I’ve been on many non profit retreats with pro staff and with students. This retreat center is one of THE most comfortable and welcoming ones I’ve had the pleasure of attending. AMAZING location on the water. The Retreat Center was only 5 years old so it still smells new and has lots of modern amenities. The housing was.3 to a room with their own bathrooms. Walls are a little thin, but its a retreat, we’re sposed to be interacting. They provided towels and bedding… basic stuff, but nice to just have there. Its a separate building, adjacent to a meeting room that also has a lovely living room with fireplace and couches on it and a deck looking onto the water. The food at the camp was very accommodating for all our dietary needs… Veggie, Vegan, GF, DF. The food could be better, but I also understand that this isn’t a gourmet meal. That being said, they did make special desserts for our group that were AMAZING, including fresh blackberry cobbler and crème puffs! So we all could eat everything, we just weren’t in love with the meals. What I appreciated was that while the center is owned by the Baptist Church, it wasn’t pushed on us at all. You wouldn’t know it generally, so it was accommodating for our groups variety of spiritual backgrounds. Finally, Kathleen was SO friendly and helpful and just FUN! Can’t say enough what a great place this was for our two day retreat, wish we could have stayed longer.
