Good place. Much better than some other nearby locations. We come here at once a week since Albertsons shut down. Not too bad prices. Service can be a pain. Usually have to load your own bags in cart when checking out. Doesn’t make sense, where did all the baggers go?

This is our neighborhood Safeway. I seriously hate it. The checkers don’t know about bagging at all. They are usually talking to each other making you feel like your not there or you might be a paying customer. I have been making the drive to Freddy’s recently and I like it better, and alas new Walmart is upon us also. This Safeway is broken and after 10 years and new options I don’t think I will ever go there again.

So this is our Safeway. It is literally a block away from home so it is hard to avoid. I have had so many mixed experiences here it is hard to give a good rating or a bad one. There are a few checkers that I prefer, a couple that I definitely don’t. The produce could be a lot fresher, if you want the freshest produce in the store you have to pick it from the stand nearest the front door. The meat department is okay, but Safeways brand of ground beef is bland. The bakery is always nice enough to offer a free cookie to my kiddo. Safeway hot dog buns go bad too quick so I always buy name brands. I wish the floral department wasn’t so expensive, I might actually buy something there. I shop here due to convenience and price of grocery items. If there was a competitor closer I might use them. The bathrooms are pretty gross, so I always use the restroom before I go. My son once knocked over a pyramid made of Styrofoam coolers that broke into a million pieces, but they didn’t make me pay for them. So that was pretty nice. I hope they use this feedback to better the experience, but… they’ve got me.

Bought a $ 15 fruit tart in bakery, label said date was fresh for at least 2 days. When I took it home for a special occasion we opened the lid and the smell of rancid fruit filled the air. It was spoiled! I called Safeway and the guy replied«oh» so I called Safeway HQ and their machine said they were experiencing a large volume of calls. Hmmm seems lots of people were unhappy with their fruit tarts purchases. ;) needless to say I won’t be shopping Safeway. There is too much competition that appreciates my business and can provide fresh, healthy food. Lousy job Safeway, you suck bawls.

WHAT is with Safeway’s gas station holding $ 100 on your debit card when you pay at the pump? I was just getting to LOVE the discounted gas(the more you spend in the store the more discount you get) and then suddenly last Saturday they sprang this on me with NO warning! There were no signs that I could see informing you that this was going to happen. The store manager claims a lot of gas stations do this now(so that makes it ok?), and the attendant at the gas station claims it’s been that way for a long time(NOT true!). They tell me that the hold will only be on my account for 24 hours, but it took 5 days for the charge to drop off. And if you don’t have $ 100 in your account you can’t buy gas! It’s a DEBIT card, what if I don’t have $ 100 extra to tie up? Well you can pay with the attendant but in order to swipe your card you have to «estimate’ how much you’ll pump(which is hard since you don’t find out how much your discount is until AFTER you swipe your debit card) and then go back and get your change… which means you have to stand in line twice, tying up a lot more of your time than you should need to. Safeway, I think this is a TERRIBLE business practice! Shame on you!

This is your standard newer Safeway. Lots of parking, easy to navigate, Starbucks in store, deli and pleasant staff. Lots of open check out lines so no waiting to pay and go. If you show up after 10PM you can only get in and out of one door so pay attention as you pull in or you will have to do some walking.
