Bring your own condiments! I was surprised to see only two stars for this PLK location. I eat here fairly often. Once a week or so. I’ve always had good service and the food has always been hot and fresh. They’ve always gotten my order correct. Based on all this, I’m inclined to give this location 4 or even 5 stars. Many people critique fast food chains too harshly, giving a McDonald’s or a Burger King 2 stars because they didn’t get extra pickles on their $ 3.99 burger, for example. What prompted me to rate this PLK with two stars is that they are incredibly stingy with their condiments! I typically order the 3 piece chicken strip meal with Cajun fries. Ideally, I would like to have about 3 dipping sauces, being as their strips are pretty meaty. I like dipping them into all their different flavor sauces. However, per their rules, you are only authorized 1 dipping sauce with a 3 piece, 2 whole dipping sauces if you order the monstrous 5 piece, and 0 sauces if you order just regular chicken. Additional sauces will cost you an extra $.27 per. I also asked for ketchup today for my fries. I got two packets. I was afraid to ask for more, thinking they would charge extra for those too. Now I don’t know if this dipping sauce policy applies at all Popeye’s or just this particular location. I’ll assume it’s just this PLK. Franchise owner and/or manager, are you really prepared to lose business over $.27? Chick-fil-A is opening soon and they give you all the dipping sauces and ketchup you want!

Terrible service in the drive up window. Food is ok, but employees suck. Seem to find recovering mental and addicts and put them in customer service and are suppose to be able to understand what you Order… but can’t. Very frustrating Cheap labor Would never recommend

Normally I like me some Popeye’s chicken but this place is a disappointment. Their jambalaya, beans, rice and Mac and cheese are never consistent and almost never good. Which is sad because that really limit’s you to just mash potatoes and coleslaw. The fish is just gross. It’s always dry and either has no flavor or its way too spicy. EVERY time I’ve gone they have messed up my order. I am either given the wrong sides or they don’t give me my sides at all. Their customer service is lacking. I hate confrontation and the one time I decided to go back and let them know they messed up my order the women in the drive through yelled at me. She called me a liar and said it wasn’t on the receipt. True it wasn’t on the receipt, but if I asked for it and even repeated myself and you still forgot to put it on my order that’s not my fault, and you don’t need to talk down to me like I’m stupid. If they had approached it more professionally I’d probably would have given them 2 Star’s. Their chicken is good but sometimes I’m given pieces that are mostly batter and bones. This means that I’m picking at it just to find the chicken, when their chicken is supposed to be their pride and joy. I’ve given them more then enough times to redeem themselves, but I’m throwing in the towel. I’d rather drive the 5 miles to the other Popeye’s and risk having my food cold before I get home then drive 1 and a half miles down the hill to this one.

The food is fantastic but the price is ridiculous. For fast food it cost my family of three just as much here as a sit down restaurant. We’ll only come here on special occasions.

Wish there was an option for three and a half stars. I work near here and the drive thru is kinda confusing. We drove around twice before knowing exactly where to go to get to the drive thru. The spicy fried chicken is pretty decent. The service was fast and the guy who served us was very nice.

Tonight I used the drive thru and had my order taken by the apperant«shift supervisor» Tammy S, her attitude was poor, communication was poor, costumer service was poor… And our order was wrong, go figure. I understand it’s not the most desirable job, but be thankful you have one! Would not recommend this location as this women represents how this location feels about their costumers, and clearly shows their lack of time spent with their training department.

Why do I love Popeye’s chicken so much? It’s fast food, it shouldn’t be that good but darn it, you know what? It really is; and I know fried chicken, I make it at home with buttermilk the way the good lord intended, I have had it in the south and in many places that I probably shouldn’t try it. Every time I get to the bottom of the box, bucket or bag I always think it myself(because saying it out loud gets you looks), «It shouldn’t be that good.» I like the limited time specials they have, the Ghost Pepper Wings were heavenly, the shrimp tackle box is always a treat and the crawfish is wonderful. I haven’t been for the red stick tenders yet but the week is young. Overall, if I was going to open a chain of chicken places I would probably have made something just like this. Now, as for this particular location, well, I hate to say it but it is hard to pin down the service aspect of this location. Sometimes the counter people are friendly, sometimes not so much, sometimes they have a full menu and sometimes they are out of certain items. Sometimes they get your order right and others you are heading back for a correction. I like to be an optimist and walk every time with fresh expectations of a good experience. Sometimes I leave happy and others…

I was soo excited to try the Ghost Pepper Wings, was craving it for weeks and finally I get the chance to to head over to Popeyes. I rushed my happy ass home so I can eat it. Opened the box and grabbed a wing… And it was Cold. WTF! So now, I’m mad and hungry trying to heat up my cold Ghost Peppers wings. Thanks Popeyes.

I work near the Popeye’s on MLK and have since the same store was on Union Ave. Let’s just say I have eaten Popeye’s hundreds of times. I would have to say once at least every 60 days over the past 20 years(or however long the store has been on MLK). I live blocks from the store on Vancouver Mall Drive. You can’t imagine how excited I was when I found out a store was opening within walking distance. Tonight was about my tenth trip to this store and the fourth time I have left EMPTYHANDED. Tonight I went through the drive through and ordered three of the«spice box chicken» meals. All the person at the other end of the intercom could say is «we are out till Friday». No I’m sorry we are out can we substitute blah, blah. Nothing. I said thanks and just drove forward. One other time I went through at about 9:15PM. I ordered a multi-piece box of spicy chicken. When I got to the window and after I had paid with my credit card they let me know they were out. I said I would pull around to the lot and wait if they would like to cook another batch. The girl went and asked and said that they would not be cooking any more because they were already cleaning the fryer. They could not refund my card but gave me a cash refund on my credit card purchase. I can’t remember exactly whey I left empty handed the other times. One time had something to do with the fact they were out of shrimp. I don’t remember if it was none cooked or out completely. On the one occasion I went inside to eat we received our food at the counter. We then filled our soda glasses and sat down. When we went back to get more soda an employee was in the process of cleaning the soda machine heads and we were told the fountain was closed for the evening. This was again shortly after 9PM. Once I ordered multi-piece spicy chicken and a large dirty rice. I drove the few blocks home. I put the chicken on the table. Opened the box and the dirty rice. I did spend about 30 seconds getting some bagged salad and dressing out of the refrigerator. When we went to eat the rice it was cold. I don’t meal luke warm I mean down right cold. I had to put it in the microwave less than 10 minutes after leaving Popeye’s. I believe the Vancouver Mall store has lost me as a customer. With a 50% failure rate why would I go back? I’ll stick to the store on MLK where I have never had a problem. I guess I should leave the MLK store a five star review!

Popeye’s Vancouver may have a new, clean and modern location but it falls so short of what Popeye’s should be. Popeye’s is a company that is about high quality(for a quick service restaurant), quality southern cooking and hospitality. The Vancouver Mall location needs to learn what even basic customer service is. When the question is asked what type of bread a Po’Boy is served on and the cashier states she does not know and thinks it is toast, that is 100% unacceptable. Number one, this is a major menu item, you need to know this. If you do not know, ASK the cook to show you the bread that is used. It is not toast, it is a hoagie roll that is is served on. For the prices this location charges and lack of coupons offered on the website compared to other locations in Western Washington, it is clear this is one franchise owner who does not know how to train their staff. I never understand why an investor will spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to open a nice new store to only risk the entire investment due to the staff they hire. A simple review of the Unilocal on this site is alarming.

No, just no. I’ve heard so much about Popeyes and wanted to check them out to see what all the hubbub was for. It was the worst fried chicken I’d ever had! I don’t leave bad reviews often, I am generally pretty nice and understanding, but this deserves the 1 star. And that star is there for the workers, they were nice. Also, my partner got the boneless tenders instead and they were so dinky and tiny. We had a coupon and I still thought it was priced too high — I couldn’t imagine paying full price for that garbage. The chicken and the sides all had this like cloud of rancid butter smell. The smell lingered in the house for the whole day! I had to leave my house to get away from it!

Great customer service and all the food came out fresh and yummy! Parking lot is small for how busy it is and not the most convenient but the people make it worth it. Right next to Van Mall, so you can park in their lot and walk on over. I’m just so surprised by their friendly service. Hard to find that in fast food places.
