Mary Jane’s House of Glass

BEWARE!!! Mary Janes house of glass price gouges heavily. I was in there store to buy a vaporizer, the particular unit I was looking at called the Crafty Vaporizer retails for an MSRP of $ 339 both in local stores like Mellow Mood and Head East, and as low as $ 309 online. I was expecting to pay a little more in store and was ready to do so. They were asking $ 529! For this very same unit. This isn’t unique to this one particular case. EVERYTHING in the store is marked up %60 or more compared to other stores in the area. If you don’t believe me, take a 15 minute drive into Portland to most any head shop and find out. Mary Janes said they would «price match local competitors up to a %20 discount of retail. That’s not price matching. I asked them how they can ask so much more for then everyone else and essentially rip people off. The employee working replied. «People buy it», I told that doesent make it ok «I’m not doing it» he replied. Admitting what I said was both evident and considered by him. He then said «that’s the price you pay for American Glass». The product I am wanting Is plastic and German.
Bottom line is they are by far the most expensive head shop on the West Coast. All the other shops in town know it and they do to. They make their money peddling Kratom to addicted opiate zombies. Kratom, is a highly addictive opiate like drug that mimics morphine. The FDA calls it Dangerous and it remains unregulated for now. It seems the only people that go there do so to buy Kratom. This would help me understand why they’ve marked up the rest of there inventory. It’s not nearly as profitable and they’ve become greedy. Essentially saying, buy Kratom, or spend the equivalent in other overpriced merchandise or… get out… I know, i know, why do I go there if they’re so expensive.
Well I live within a mile. I like to support local businesses, and the few times ive gone in. Ive hoped my item was somehow affordable. The thing is, if I’m made to choose beetween fattening the spoiled calf that is this local business or supporting myself
I would choose my pocket book everytime. Make it affordable and competitive and stop taking advantage of unaware customers!

I have been to multiple Mary Jane’s, but this location has given me the best experiences. The staff was super helpful, and very nice. The parking situation isn’t great here, but it’s not impossible. I got 10% off on my birthday, which was cool. If I’m in need of a new piece, screens, etc etc then this is where I go.

I come to this location a couple times a week to pick up kratom and i absolutely love it here! Josh is usually working when I come in and he is always so helpful. My only complaint is that there isn’t a direct turn in for your car from the direction I come from. But it hasn’t stopped me from coming in :) all of the employees are extremely friendly and know what they are talking about.

Awesome store and Carissa was extremely helpful and knowledgable about the Atmos Olé vap pens we came into buy. Will be coming back again. Would give more the 5 if I could.

I loved going in and getting some awesome help in finding what I wanted! :-) the service and help were amazing!
I found a hand held water bubbler that is easy for travel and a small bag padded bag to put it in so it doesn’t get broken, there were sooooo many pipes, bongs, etc that I was seriously interested in and might buy over time lol, this is definitely a place that I would recommend :-)

Not a tobacco shop! as advertised on Unilocal,nevertheless the selection is decent and the employees are helpful.
