3 years later and its still my favorite Mexican food! The staff are as friendly as they ever were, and some of the«kids» have grown into great servers now, too! Its awesome to be able to go to a family owned and operated business that still treats their customers well. Margaritas cant be beat, and the Corona is always ice cold right in the bottle — perfect!

Decent food at good prices is how I’d describe Los jalapeños. This place is my family’s go-to Mexican food place for exactly those reasons too. Wait staff is great as well and they have one of the better salsas I’ve had too. The place is very family friendly and they have a good kids menu. The place seems to be getting busier but the most I’ve ever had to wait for a table is 10 minutes; most times we usually get sat right away. I’d recommend the pork tamales. I didn’t give it higher stars because it’s not the best Mexican in Vancouver, but I’ll give it the best value that’s for sure.

I came here with my mom for lunch after a trip to the pumpkin patch. Once we were seated we were promptly served chips, salsa, and bean dip. Chips were fresh, salsa was flavorful and bean dip was beany. I ordered shredded beef taquitos and I really enjoyed them. My mom, however, got the fajita burrito and it was less than satisfactory. Lacked flavor, texture, and freshness. Total bummer. The items on the menu were semi typical of a Mexican restaurant, with most items being $ 10-$ 14.

Extremely disappointed. I ordered the 3 taco special for $ 10.99 and was asked if I wanted chicken, ground beef or carne asada, I chose carne asada. What I received was 3 corn tortillas that had been emersed in a sauce of some kind lightly filled with onion, cilantro and diced(not chopped) dried beef. The meat was closer to beef jerky that had been softened by soaking and received a fine dicing to mimic tenderness than carne asada. If a restaurant wants to set itself apart by reinventing a dish that would be great but this was not the case. In my opinion and experience the tacos were served in this manner to conceal the failure of the carne asada. To be fair, I have been to well over a dozen Vancouver«Mexican» restaurants and they all fail to hit the mark. This one was just the worst and the most expensive which left me a little miffed. I have also attempted to find decent Mexican food in Portland and have been met with a similar level of success. The PNW clearly has a different idea about Mexican food but I haven’t been as disappointed in a restaurant in years. Los Jalepenos should be struck by a meteor in the middle of the night as a kindness to the community.

I first came here about a year and a half ago when I was visiting my family. The food was pretty good, memorable. I moved to Washington about a year ago. This place came to mind when I starting craving mexican food for lunch today. I drove 15 minutes because I wanted good food and was sure I would get it here! Unfortunately, the food has declined significantly since my first visit. The food tasted like nothing. Absolutely nothing. I could literally squeeze water out of the shredded beef. The entire plate tasted like water and several of the ingredients were saturated in it. Even the beans tasted like mushy water. The customer service was also lacking. It took almost ten minutes for the server to take our drink order and she never stopped back at our table after the food was delivered. The entire experience was very disappointing. Definitely not the restaurant I remember it being.
