I have tried many items from the menu. Have not had any bad items. My 2 grand daughter and my wife also loves the food. The service is great very friendly and home like.

Terrific counter staff! Very friendly and helpful. The owner stayed open a little late so I could pick up my order. Food is ok. Sauce is not too salty, and is quite good. I bought some for home cooking use. Freshness of the salad varies, depending on delivery days, I guess. Never had a problem with meat dishes. LOVE their tofu. Convenient and a go-to for the nights I don’t feel like cooking.

We used to enjoy this place! Especially when they first opened.. But now there ISN’T any consistency. Customer service is great and friendly but the food is a whooooole other issue. My party and I ordered three menu items to eat in and one to go. with all of them being the same(teriyaki chkn n rice) HOW on earth did they ALL come out different. .Huh? The to go was prepared wrong TWICE and by the third time trying to correct it I went ahead and just bought my friend the order he originally had placed! Idk if it’s too much socializing in the back or too many cooks back there but let’s just say it’s obviously where the party’s at and NOT the food making! DISAPPOINTING! Meh. on to someplace new. thanks joy teriyaki but No Thanks! Keep Unilocaling!

Super slow service. Restaurant not busy during lunch and a take out lunch order took over 20 minutes.

My husband is a very picky eater so it’s hard to find a place to eat out at. Joy teriyaki is fantastic ! They have great menu items that my picky husband likes, I like and our 6 year old. The teriyaki chicken and the egg rolls are my favorite and my husband always gets the spicy chicken bowl with yak idols noodles! It’s always fresh and delish! We come here and get our order to go at least twice a month. Staff is so friendly and it’s a bit of a wait but the freshness is worth it !

Food is pretty good. However, pretty irritated that they say they open at 10:30 and when I show up at 11:15 they inform me that they won’t be ready to cook for another 20 minutes. That’s over an hour late!!! So annoying, ended up going somewhere else. But I have been a few times and their chicken teriyaki is good!

The portions are pretty good, and both the spicy chicken and egg rolls are solid. The fried rice and noodles aren’t the best, but it’s a convenient place with friendly staff. If only they delivered.

Sucked, ordered the udon noodles, tasted like crap cream of chicken soup mixed with disgusting noodles, probably the worst meal I’ve ever had eating out. Would post negative stars if I could.

Environment: Tables were sticky and the décor was unfinished(empty frames). Piles of boxes in view of customers at the cashier stand and even though the place is fairly new, light bulbs out in the fixtures. Tea is served in styrofoam cups. No joke. Who uses sytrofoam cups anymore? How tacky and how incredibly environmentally wrong! Customer service: Non-existant. Order and money is taken by an employee who would rather be anywhere else and it shows Food: Sub mediocre Chinese fast food. Those menu items you’re familiar with won’t taste anything like they should — at least mine didn’t. The smells coming out of the place are out of this world, so we were really looking forward to eating there. Very disappointed. We won’t be back and we encourage you to heed our warning.

Food is good, nothing to write home about. Ive been twice, both times the kitchen looked filthy, I know kitchens get dirty, but there was a few weeks a muck visible when standing by to check out the menu. I hoped the 2nd time the kitchen would look cleaner but it didn’t. Staff was okay, cashiers were prompt, but after taking my order they all stood in the back talking, I presume while cooking, maybe they should be cleaning up a bit, rather than talking the whole time. Not sure I’ll be back, good luck!

Thought we’d give this place a shot, as we were looking for something quick, but not the same old fast food. We were very pleased with the food portions for the price. The spicy chicken and pork were delicious and fresh. The panko shrimp and grilled shrimp were also very good and perfectly cooked. The fried rice was phenomenal! And I don’t even LIKE fried rice! The meats were all tender and not overly salty, like most teriyaki places’ meats seem to be. The food was hot and quickly served. We will definitely return!

I think I’ve been to every Teriyaki place in town and I’m not really impressed with any of them. If you’re into lukewarm teriyaki, Vancouver is the place to be. We usually just drive into Portland, but when this place opened up, we thought we’d give it a try. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The portions are big, the food is hot, and their steamed vegetables has to be the best side I’ve had at any Teriyaki place. They’re very fresh. I also love that they have combination plates. I just wish I could do 2 different kinds of chicken instead of teriyaki and then an egg roll or gyoza. If I could get teriyaki and sweet and sour chicken in a combo plate, I would have given this place 5 stars. It’s definitely worth trying.

Went to Joy for the first time tonight aftrr being open about a week. Initially, I did not like the vibe. The restaurant looked unfinished and the employees all seem to be the young and don’t care type. I don’t want to judge them too soon but they definitely need a crash course on customer service and appearances. As for the food, well, it was subpar for sure. We ordered spicy white breast chicken and beef. The chicken tasted like stale cardboard and was rubbery. I am actually surprised it tasted so bad. The beef was average at least. Neither tasted fresh or freshly grilled. It was served with plain white rice and that’s it. Overall, I will certainly never be back as Ichi Teriyaki 2 minutes away is superior with much better customer service and food.

Happy to see a new restaurant pop up in town. With so many other Teriyaki places /chains around the area… was hoping this place would be a little different and stand out from the rest. So far it has. It has only been open for a week but they have other locations in Oregon from what I’ve seen. Place is beautifully remodeled and clean. The menu is actually quite extensive with lots of options. Many the same as other places but some extra’s as well. The food was good as was the customer service. I’ll definitely be back to try more options. The Udon soup looks great.
