For $ 62(tax included) it has motel 6 beat. Very clean and very friendly. Morning coffee is good. Microwave, refrigerator(larger than most I’ve seen in rooms), good air/heart, ours was not noisy. Even with full rooms not noisy. The bed is very comfortable, small but comfortable. Highly recommend for an economy stay.

I was looking for a clean and cheap place to stay that was close to the PDX airport and I found one. Although the place was old, it was super clean — all linens smelled clean with a hint of bleach, which was very good in my book. The bathroom was spotless. No mold or mildew stains. The location was in a safe area. The trip to the airport at 4:30AM was only a 15 minute drive. This all was good for what I was looking for. The downside and drawback for me is that the owner and front desk staff were difficult to understand and even rude at times. My exposure to these folks was limited while I was checking in. When I arrived at the airport at 4:45AM, I found that my ID was not in its home in my wallet as expected. I panicked. The motel is only open for phone calls from 7AM — 11PM, so I wasn’t able to contact anyone to see if they had my ID and even worse, there wasn’t a messaging service or voicemail option. So, after thorough security inspection at the airport, in which I understood why this was necessary, and a plane ride to my first stop, I still wasn’t able to get in touch with someone that worked at the Guest House Motel. Once I made contact, I asked about my ID and if I had left it there and he proceeded to yell at me that I had dropped it outside of the checkin window. I am not sure if the exchange was on purpose or just a matter of cultural difference, but I went ahead and just asked him to mail my ID back to me. He told me that he would get around to it in a day or two. I asked for confirmation of when it was mailed and provided my phone number. Three days passed and no call. I followed back up with the Guest House Motel and was told that the ID was mailed the prior day. All of this happening this week, I still don’t have my ID. :-/So, all that being said, while the place fulfilled a need, the headache of the staff just wouldn’t be worth it for me to stay, again, unless I was just in dire straits.

Nothing amazing or surprising here, just an economical and clean motel located in a sea of other lodging choices. I didn’t check around the other places, just picked this one because it looked like it was going to be the least expensive(hint, hint), and I am guessing it probably is. I wouldn’t normally select this location in the first place but it suited my needs a night before I flew out of PDX — it was a quick and easy drive to the airport. Also close to commercial conveniences, but again, nothing special.

eware of the pictures February 2012 This place does not look like anything in the pictures. The rooms are old and not well lit, the furniture looks like something we left behind in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. They say they offer a free Continental Breakfast but I am not sure what Continent they are talking about. You will want to go out and eat, so spend your money at the place across the street the breakfast is really good! The bedding was not changed everyday and the sheets are very scratchy and uncomfortable. In the end if you this is the only place for you to stay take a blanket and a pillow and sleep in your car, you will save the money and be better off for it.

The room was spacious. The bathroom was clean. The beds were comfortable. The motel is around other motels, a lot of stores and places to eat. It was very inexpensive, $ 42/night. I was very happy.

The wife and I were heading up to Portland for the weekend and needed a room. Everything in Portland/Vancouver(and vicinity) was at a minumum of $ 60 or so a night — and this includes Motel 6, Travelodge, EconoLodge, and the like. A Google search of Vancouver motels turned this one up. Google user reviews showed several four-star reviews, and with a reasonable price of $ 40 for the night, we gave it a shot. As for the room, well, not the greatest, but you’re not really expecting a whole lot for $ 40. The bed was clean, the sheets were laundered, and the place wasn’t crawling with cockroaches. The bathroom was surprisingly clean as well. Cons: a seriously undersized toilet. Not kidding. I mean, the toilet in this room felt like it was made for midgets. The chairs in the room could’ve used cleaning, but it’s not like we were sitting naked on these things anyway, so it wasn’t a huge deal. The room was clearly an older one, with a very loud mini-fridge, and an older AC unit. Despite the age, those appliances worked just fine. Location-wise, it’s right smack dab in an area with a number of other hotels(Comfort Inn, Motel 6, Extended Stay and others) so it’s not in the middle of a deserted, desolate area or anything. And just across the street on Mill Plain is a large strip mall with lots of places to eat — we skipped on those and headed straight back into Portland for breakfast. Obviously not a five-star luxury room, but for $ 40, it’s hard to beat. The room was clean, the place was quiet, and it was very easy to find.
