Cambodian food places aren’t exactly everywhere, which is why we were drawn over to this nook of the food court. The boyfriend and I split what seemed like a Cambodian chicken banh mi, which came with a side of pickled carrot and turnip slivers. I know I shouldn’t compare it to a typical banh mi, especially since this was mall food, but the chicken was dry and pretty much tasteless. The bread was also a little stale, which meant the highlight was the pickles. Disappointing since I wanted to like the little place, with its cute four-set of crockpots just bubbling away at meats.

The person at the counter was really nice and offered us a sample, so we got suckered in to buy something. I had the grilled chicken and it actually wasn’t too bad, but my mouth started to have a rash with the grilled chicken, so I stopped eating. My dad didn’t get a reaction, so I’m probably allergic to something. As far as food allergies are concerned, I’m only really allergic to peanuts and we asked if there’s any peanuts and they denied it, so I’m guessing there’s a trace amount that they’re not aware about or I’m allergic to something else that I don’t even know I had an allergy to. Otherwise, it’s probably one of the better food court options, despite the fact that I had to itch my mouth with my tongue and drink tons of water and felt a little nauseous.
