We found this place on Unilocal(thank you Unilocalers). We were staying near Jantzen Beach on the Portland side of the river but found only chain restaurants and wanted something different. We had the best sandwiches, great salads and everything was fresh and very healthy. Didn’t have the coffee but it smelled great. The owner was there and was super helpful. They have a great atmosphere in the restaurant and a couple of outside seats if you are a people watcher. On weekends the Vancouver Farmers Market is huge and just a few blocks away.

Let me just start by saying, this is by far the friendliest café I’ve been to! I’ve been going here for nearly two years and love coming in to just say hi to the friendly staff. It’s always so welcoming and is the perfect atmosphere for studying. Besides being friendly, they make excellent espresso drinks(try their macadamia nut milk! It’s to die for), their sandwiches are delicious, and they also have kombucha on tap which is great too. Don’t hesitate to come in and try it, just beware you may leave as friends with your baristas. ;)

Food, coffee, setting — everything about this place is fantastic. My first visit was for my niece’s graduation party. The small bites they had were amazing — sweet potato fries, plantain chips, home made guacamole — all fresh made, gluten free for my niece, and absolutely delicious. My sister even commented that the caprese bites were awesome, and she normally hates tomatoes. I grabbed an iced coffee(it was 90 outside and their AC was on the fritz) and when I asked about milk alternatives they had soy, almond, coconut AND macadamia. I tried macadamia, since that’s a new one for me, and it was perfect with their delicious coffee. I chatted with the owner and staff a bit, and all were super friendly and accommodating for our party. I love supporting local businesses like this, especially when they get so many things right.

This an awesome spot for coffee AND food. Highly recommended. There is an extensive menu of drinks, kambucha, beer, and cocktails. They have delicious breakfast. The biscuits and gravy is nom nom yum! Comfortable upstairs seating makes it a nice spot for getting some work done too.

With so many prime coffee shops within the Downtown area, Brewed really doesn’t stand out in any way. If you like average coffee in a slightly outdated un characterised environment, than this is your fix.

Came here for lunch. This place has a laid back hipster vibe. We ordered two grilled jalapeño cheese sandwiches from a very unfriendly server. There wasn’t even a trace of a smile on his face. Our food came out about ten minutes later. I ate half of my sandwich but it was tough to get through. It was tasty but the jalapeño was overpowering. Even my bf who loves jalapeño found it to be excessive. I tried to take some jalapeño pieces out of the other half but there were too many and cut small. My bf went downstairs and ordered me half a plain grilled cheese. He said when he asked for half they simply said ‘we don’t do half’. He explained he just wanted half of it, they agreed but charged full price. That sandwich was served on bread with lots of nuts and seeds in it which I really dislike so I didn’t end up eating that sandwich either. I’m perplexed about why this place has such high ratings. The bathroom was very gross. There was pee in the toilet and it wouldn’t flush. I ended up using a restroom else where.

I have been doing a coffee shop crawl the past few weeks as my house is having work done and can’t not leave a glowing review about Brewed! Their food is great and their service is amazing! And I’m particular about stellar service. Coffee to start the day, kombucha on draft with lunch and a beer to round it out before heading home. The rest of the crowd upstairs is generally working at a computer or in small groups while downstairs is a more talkative crowd who have stopped in for a quick bite or coffee and paper. Also, I just learned that dogs are allowed in certain areas. I would give this place 6 stars, if I could!

This is my first meal at Brewed – an inspired spinach salad with smoked salmon added. It was perfect – crisp apples, well-dressed spinach, a sprinkling of craisins, slivered almonds. All was fresh and served in generous portions. What I took home will serve as a tasty dinner. My husband’s biscuits and gravy sang because of high-quality biscuits. The two sausage patties were equally tasty and of high quality. Half order portions are available as well as the full size breakfast he enjoyed. My kombucha in tap hit the spot, and my husband’s brewed coffee was the rich treat I remembered from my previous visit. Same as last time, the service staff is delightful, friendly, and fully present. I can see Brewed becoming my neighborhood café on the weekends. Why not five stars? I need to do more research – look for an update in 2 – 3 months. I predict Brewed will earn an easy 5 stars. Highly recommend.

Ambiance is great. They have a live local acoustic playing. This has a very NW comfy vibe to it. I ordered a mocha which was amazing. My coffee cake was okay that’s why I only gave it four stars. Maybe if they heated it up it may help. They have a decent variety of drinks. My grilled cheese was delicious

Went here for the first time last night and I’m in love. I ordered a large cold brew, coffee cake, and a growlette of blueberry mint kombucha. The cold brew was perfect and coffee cake was super tasty and exactly what I was craving. I just had a glass of the kombucha with breakfast and it was refreshing. Love the reusable growlette container too!

If you want a cozy, downtown coffee shop run by locals, this is THE place in Vancouver. The owner is one of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet, they make the best breakfast sandwich in town, and it’s less than $ 5. If you haven’t been here before, you might miss the cozy upstairs where you can enjoy your brew & get a little work done, or hang out on the couch with friends. There are options in downtown Vancouver, for sure, but Brewed is where I consistently come for my morning cup of focus & get a few things done for work(which, fortunately I can do online!)

Great little place for coffee or tea. I like their sandwiches too. Never been for drinks, wine or beer. The mango ham melt is really good. They’ve recently added more to the menu. Going to have to try the smoked salmon jalapeño melt made with locally caught smoked salmon. YUMM! Nice little place for meetings in the Vancouver area. Free wifi.

Amazing little spot! The feel in here is very homey, especially during the rainy season! Every employee was extremely friendly and helpful for our first time and choosing items from the menu. It was great to see they carry local beers on tap as well! We sat up in the loft which was a cool experience. They have a mini lounge area upstairs with a TV and couches. We had the brewed melts which were amazing! Would love to visit here again soon simply for the customer service we received!

Just went here for the first time yesterday. It was perfect and so unbelievably welcoming that I kept forgetting I was in a public place. I just moved here from Southern California to the condos in downtown. I’ve been longing for a place to hear the background noise of delicious coffee being made and locals going about their daily business so that I may cozy up in a chair with a book or my laptop for hours on end. This is Brewed. EXTRAORDINARY pumpkin waffles(get a side of bananas too!) + heavenly peppermint lattes. Prices are amazing and the staff is so genuinely friendly and seem to be «at home» themselves. I love this place.

Recently I have been going to a bunch of breakfast places in the Vancouver area. Most have been underwhelming. By most I mean every one except Brewed. Brewed is located in the main old downtown area, Its across the street from a couple of pawn shops. From the outside it looks like a mom and pop coffee shop. It is that, and more. They have a good breakfast menu. I am not into biscuits and gravy, but the friend that took me tells me it is the best around. It looks kind of bland but there is red pepper(cayenne if I remember right) on top. His coffee came with a design on top. I just had the biscuit with butter and jam on it. It was a great biscuit flaky warm and tasty, The berry jam was really good also. The staff is friendly and funny. Busy joking with the regulars. It’s a great little place, it’s the kind you only get when its run by the owners, somehow chains just can’t duplicate the atmosphere. I think it is now my go to place in the ‘cove. Tip there is more seating upstairs.

Guys. Believe the hype! Stop here and take a moment to enjoy some delicious sandwiches, coffee, and fantastic service! My family and I were driving from California to see our cousins in Mount Vernon, Washington. We had been driving all night, and after failing to stop at several breakfast places I had picked out, the siblings were getting cranky-hangry fast and they were not lowering their standards. Tough crowd to please folks. Luckily Unilocal saved the day once again when I found Brewed! Conveniently right off of I-5 and even though it was in downtown Vancouver, it wasn’t too difficult to park. We were greeted by very friendly staff who made us feel very welcomed and taken care of. After ordering sandwiches and coffee and tea we headed to the upstairs seating lounge to wait on our food.(Thanks to the nice man making our lattes for letting us know about the upstairs seating area!) it came out pretty quickly and we were just as quick to dig in. Sandwiches come with a side of chips or you could swap for a cup of soup(my sister got the clam chowder). Everyone loved the sandwiches and my brother couldn’t stop raving about the vanilla latte(and he’s a tough critic). Basically, I would easily make this my regular spot if I didn’t live in California. Sadly, I can’t travel ten hours to do my hw and enjoy a fabulous cup of vanilla latte. But I strongly encourage you to become a regular for me! So go go go! You won’t be sorry! Thank you Brewed for giving us all the energy to finish the rest of our trip!

Where to begin… I love everything about Brewed. From great coffee(I always get the Vanilla Latte), outstanding customer service, and best tasting food all for a great price! As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted by the nicest staff, they aren’t like robots who just make your coffee and go on with their day! You will never meet a group of people who are as friendly as the staff here, they’ll put in that extra mile to make sure you get everything you want! If you need a go-to coffee shop in Downtown Vancouver, look no further!

Impressive first time visit. Cool urban vibe. We were offered generous sized samples of their soup of the day. I ordered a latte and a BLTA(bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado). It was toasted to perfection with well-proportioned ingredients and a little kick to the sauce. The menu had good variety to choose from. Hubby got the mango ham sandwich and raved about it. Super friendly service from start to finish. Will visit again!

I won’t lie. As a Portlander I’m snobbish about Vancouver despite living very close! So I’m headed to Target for dreaded shopping at Jantzen beach and think a full tummy will make this trip better. So I find Brewed on Unilocal. As I walk up the sign out front says: Our vibe attracts our tribe. So true! My tribe is those who love and this place serves love. Grandma came to talk with us from the kitchen. The food was perfect and affordable. The mimosa made me feel ready for shopping. We have found our tribe and we will be back for Sunday waffles!

We just had the most delightful experience at Brewed. We arrived at 2:50 on a Sunday afternoon only to discover they closed at 3pm. We were so disappointed because we were flying out the next morning. The kind owners of the shop graciously offered to serve us anyway. And, boy are we glad they did! This family owned and run business served us some of the most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches we’ve ever eaten. The Chipotle grilled sandwich was toasted to perfection. The seasoning was amazing. The other sandwich consisted of tons of cheese, artichokes, spinach, pesto, tomatoes and I’m not sure what else, but it was fabulous! Normally, I shared what I can’t eat with my husband but these sandwiches were so good, I didn’t want to share! If we’re ever back in the area, we will definitely go back again.

Brewed is the by far the best place in Vancouver. They have everything you could want from four rotating local taps, wine, cocktails, in house coffee roasting, kombucha on tap, an amazing kitchen, and the most important perk is the people who work there. All family, with a few close friends on staff, know how to make you feel welcomed. Since my first visit, almost three years ago, they’ve called me by name and took the time to invest in my life. This isn’t just my experience. I have seen this time and time again. It seems that everyone who comes in is a regular! It’s a great place to study/work on your computer, bring friends/family(young and old), or talk to the regulars. If you are reading reviews to see were you should go, THISISIT! Get off your phone, walk in, say hello, and enjoy the company!

This was a very simple visit; two friends meeting for a cup of coffee after a long day. The staff behind the counter were friendly. I had an irish coffee and my friend had a latte. Both were well made and tasted okay. The place itself is creatively laid out with an upstairs and downstairs. You can sit in any environment from a small two-top table to a living room like area. They have an extensive, yet simple menu but don’t overtly advertise it so do ask if you want something more than the array of pastries in the pastry case. We sat upstairs because the downstairs was a little cramped. We had more room upstairs but it did get much busier towards the end of our visit(around 700pm on a Wednesday). The place was very clean and creatively designed as well. My friend commented on the how sturdy the table was — thinking it was just a regular small two-top but it was heavyweight wood with equally heavy plumbing pipe as legs and leg bases. I thought the place a bit loud for my tastes. As we were leaving, it was refreshing to be out in the cool, quieter night air. But it is good to see a small establishment thriving.

Absolutely fantastic. What a wonderful surprise of a location in Downtown Vancouver. The two people that helped us today were quite friendly and quick to answer any questions we had. The menu was full without being too much and contained a bevy of fantastic sandwiches(I had the Chipotle Chicken sandwich) and wonderful soup(loaded baked potato for the win). They have four rotating beer taps to choose from as well as a fine limited cocktail selection(can you say Bloody Mary?). Slowly gone are the days where you would have to go into NEPDX to have such a wonderful experience. The décor and ambiance is spot on, very casual and great for your family. Truthfully, I am just looking for a reason to come back, and the greatest thing about Brewed is that you don’t need one, other than«because they are great».

Starving after our flight, we were looking for something quick and easy. Looking at Unilocal sent me to Brewed.(Side note: Parking in Vancouver is interesting to say the least. Color coding the meters, four spots in a row with all different max times? Weird.) We walk in to a fabulous food and drink menu, with a friendly man behind the counter.(Who also thinks the parking is weird, btw.) He tells us the whole place in family run, with mom in the kitchen. I love this. We sit outside with our teas and soon after our amazing paninis. Perfectly toasted bread. Melted cheese. And jalapeños. Mmmm. Too bad our trip to the area was short because I would have come back several times! I will be back, Brewed!

I honestly can’t see why to not give Brewed 5⁄5 stars. What a find! I stopped here for lunch today and right when I walked in I was very enthusiastically and genuinely welcomed by the owner. I started off by ordering a Breakside I.S.A., one of the four great beers they have on draft. They also have a bunch of bottled beer, coffee drinks and sodas. The inside is very crisp and welcoming. I chose to sit outside to have lunch at one of their 2 outdoor tables(score!). For lunch I ordered a grilled«caprese-ish» sandwich; artichoke, tomato, balsamic, mozzarella, pesto and spinach on sourdough. YUM!!! This sandwich is just too good. I got a cup of house made clam chowder on the side that you can tell was made fresh this morning with top quality ingredients. The menu is diverse and it all looked just great. I can’t wait to come back to try out different items!

Brewed is by far the best local coffee shop in Vancouver! Nowhere else can you get cheap coffee and food, beer on tap, friendly service, and a cool atmosphere to hang out at. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the friendliest staff ever. You will literally be their new best friend for the duration of your visit. Your new best friend will cheerfully tell you how their day is going, what food is available, what their favorite coffee is, how Mom is doing, what beers are on tap, what their favorite animal is, and other important details that you must know now that you’re BFF. As far as prices go, your BFF is gonna give you an awesome deal. The prices are actually pretty unbelievable. The coffee drinks are at least a dollar cheaper than what you’d pay at the brand name coffee shops. Breakfast food is less than five bucks. The food is simple but delicious. You can get homemade soups made by their mom(I think) and sandwiches for a steal. Waffles with whipped cream and fresh fruit is also available on the weekends but you have to get there early. They also have a good assortment of organic and alternative sweeteners for your drinks like stevia, coconut sugar, organic honey, etc. for no extra charge. Finally, the space is so welcoming, you’ll never want to leave. There’s an entire upstairs with tables and couches where you can just chill, study, or hang out with friends. In fact, the place is so inviting that one of my friends used to bring all of her first blind dates to Brewed — all 20+ of them. Come here. You won’t regret it.
