Giving a «2 star» only for the view and the salmon I had. This was our first time here, had family visiting from out of town and wanted a beautiful view for a nice dinner. The patio is great, heaters would be nice, but otherwise a beautiful view. «Gidget» was out waitress. She was very witty and kind. We had no problem with her, the food runners, or whoever is in charge of bringing the food to the tables, are HORRIBLY incompetent. I ordered salmon and veggies(which had an amazing flavor) and my meal was brought out almost 20 minutes before everyone else’s. They then over the course of the next 15 – 17 minutes, would bring out a dish one by one. Next was a salad. Next was a cup of soup. Then, finally over 20 minutes later the rest of the plates were brought out. One plate was the wrong order and by this time, my meal(which would’ve been Ice cold if I had waited for the others to get their meals) had been gone for quite a while. The food and service were satisfactory. I was given a bag of their homemade popcorn as an apology. As I was walking out it seemed there were many, many tables with bags of popcorn. I would only return here for drinks on the patio for the atmosphere.

We give it a DAVLIN rating of 22-Food 20-Décor 21-Service.(0 – 30 possible score) Went the for first time. We would NEVER sit inside the restaurant ever! WAY to LOUD! It had a Denny’s atmosphere. No thank you. But, we sat outside at the patio area and it was great, nice and quiet, peaceful and that complimented the beauty of the location/view along the Columbia River. The view was good. I had the Thai Chicken appetizer and the ribs with garlic mashed potatoes both good. Service was good and Karla our server had a great personality and was very attentive. I would recommend this place but only if you dine on the patio.

The very first time I experienced beaches was amazing(over 3 years ago). It really set the tone, and I was excited that I had discovered such a great dining experience on the water for the family. Well, I have been to Beaches about 10+ times since and it feel like it gets worse with each visit. The food isn’t that great, so after long waits to get seated in an overcrowded room, it really isn’t worth the hassle. If it was quicker and cheaper, I would be okay with the food quality, but they set a presence of borderline fine-dining with their marketing and prices, which really isn’t the case. If you choose to go(after discarding my review), make sure to plan it for a nice evening and sit outside. The view over the Columbia makes up for everything(which is probably why they are still in business).

We used to love this place and I hate writing bad reviews. But we WON’T be back! Just terrible service. I tried to order a refill for my son’s lemonade 3 times(with 2 different servers). Nothing after we paid the check. I asked for a berry cobbler. They brought us(not 1, but 2) peach cobblers. Just tell me it’s peach cobbler and I won’t order it. But the server tried to cover by saying«it has blueberries in it». It’s like ordering cheese cake and getting apple pie. Then having a different server bring you another Apple pie dessert after you turned away the first one. Don’t eat here. But if you do. I’d recommend the«berry cobbler».

Decided to give Beaches another try, after our first visit where we weren’t super happy with our experience. Had my grandparents in town this week and wanted to enjoy a meal on the Columbian. This review is for Kazzie, the best waitress I’ve ever had. SO unbelievably friendly, funny, and on top of everything. Took my son to get a toy, and some ice cream after his meal; he loved her! Even sold us on the chocolate cake! The rest of the staff we encountered was so amazingly friendly and helpful as well! We ordered the Caesar salad with chicken, pizza with pepperoni, sausage & olives, the rice bowl, burger with a fried egg(forgot the name even though it was something memorable haha maybe sinful burger or something along the lines) & the chocolate cake with Baileys in the chocolate sauce! The caesar was sub par. Always irks me when the plate isn’t chilled. It didn’t have much identity, not a lot of dressing or croutons & the chicken tastes like it was off a bbq with zero flavor and a charred taste. I loved the pepperoni pizza! Loved the thin crust on it. The burger was awesome, my fiancé loved it & said he’d be back again for it! & the dessert was great! Will be back!

We stopped here for dessert after eating lunch at the McMenamins next door. It was crazy crowded, but we were seated quickly and our server was first rate. The desserts were really good, and considering how busy they were, both food and drinks were served promptly. I’m giving 3 stars because I didn’t care for the feel or the ambience of Beaches. Inside it’s dark, noisy and crowded. Everything seemed too close together, like they are trying to crowd too many people into their available area. The outdoor patio was nice, but the tables are crowded into a narrow strip. Compared to the place next door it feels crowded and claustrophobic. I would give Beaches 5 stars for food and service, but only 3 overall because of the way customers are jammed together both inside and out.

Such a beautiful restaurant by the water. They have outdoor seating. There is a full bar. I liked the tiki torch drink. It came in a cute glass mug. I had a balsamic kale salad with jerk chicken but you can add grilled chicken or salmon for an additional cost. The menu appeared pretty extensive. Service was pleasant and they offer you fresh fococcia bread. I would come here again to try there other entrees.

I have family in from NYC. They wanted to go out, so being fairly new in town, we hadn’t yet tried Beaches. For a chilly, drizzly night, this place was hopping. I was very glad I thought to make reservations. The location is amazing and the server was easily one of the best, most personable I’ve had in a long time. The food? Good, not great. I’ve had better, so I don’t feel comfortable giving it a 5 star review. I do really like that they have different portion sizes. I rarely finish a standard entrée, when I eat out and I never have room for dessert. The smaller portion was just enough food to make eating a dessert possible. All in all, it was a great night out, catching up with family. A special thanks to Yvette, our server, who really went out of her way, especially with my son. She really made it an outstanding night.

Super slow… ordered a drink and it took 20 minutes to get to me. Ordered a 2nd drink and it took 30 minutes to make it’s way to the table. The food is way over priced and you are essentially paying for the river view. I ordered the Steelhead fish and chips. 3 small pieces of fish with about 10 french fries for $ 17 bucks. I give a star for the little food I did get because it did taste good. I just can’t justify the super slow service and snotty waitress. This place may have slower service than McMenamins.

Just finished eating and am enjoying the view and after dinner wine. From the nice young man that seated us… to Rachel, our server… The experience was certainly something to brag about. Food was very good and everyone seemed to genuinely care about our experience. We were just in town for business but visit often. Definitely be back and see you soon. Thanks for a great experience!

I took a business client here and it was really good. I had the salmon. My colleague had the crab cakes and my client had a pizza. The salmon was cooked perfectly with a side of steamed veggies. I heard the crab cakes were good as well as the garlic mashed potatoes. The pizza was super tasty but still too large for the personal size it was. We went just at the beginning of the dinner rush. I am so glad we did. We had about a 45 minute wait but it was fine since we sat in the bar watching the ship’s roll in. The staff was very friendly and handle the large dinner crowd expertly. Worth coming back to.

The $ 28 steak I had here was pretty good, but I have to say that for $ 28 you want melt in your mouth, blast off to kicksville good. Our waitress told her that she is allergic to beer, and that her boyfriend broke her heart(not with beer). Allergic? I says. You mean like throat-swell allergic or ah-choo allergic? Ah-choo allergic she says. Wow, I says. I’ve never heard of that. What a terrible fate, I says. Maybe we should start a support group for people allergic to beer. Yah, I know, right? She says. But I’m not allergic to other alcool, just beer. Oh, uh huh, I says. I knew a fella in college who’s liver would melt if he had one sip of anything. Just one drop, poor fella. Yah, she says, terrible, just terrible. Uh huh, says I. Alright, then. See now, I think I’ll be having one of those Caesar salads. The tiramisu was wetter than a pile of Pacific Northwest moss in December. It fell over and oozed onto the chocolate cross-hatched plate. That was the business right there, sister. The view of the river is unparalleled here. The smell from the wood-fired oven and stone fireplace set a very nice tone. If I’m not mistaken, they had some specialty hot toddy and hot buttered rum drinks. I’ll come back for that, and appetizers.

Went here a few Saturday’s ago with my boyfriend and of course because it was a Saturday they were packed! So make sure to come expecting a wait on a Saturday evening. We sat in the bar area which had open seating, so we got seating quick but there wasn’t much available so we got a rather small table looking outside by the windrow. Our waitress Ashley was amazing though and made up for the busyness! It looked hectic and she looked like she was super busy but she was still super friendly and polite, also even though they were slammed our food came out super quick! You just try the crab and lobster appetizer dip! It was amazing! The best we had both ever had! I would also recommend the mango berry margarita! Delicious! Over all the food was awesome, the service was awesome and we will definitely be back!

Was not terribly impressed by either the service or quality of food here. The real attraction for this establishment is location, which is beautiful. Sitting on the Columbia with plenty of glass so you can appreciate it even in the winter, the space itself is well decorated and very clean. From your table you can catch stunning sunsets and have a drink in a way that only a handful of other establishments provide. The real determining factor, however is if the pricepoint and menu selection(which is found to be unremarkable) are enticing enough to avoid the other waterfront businesses for. For me, the impression that this place made on me was so unmemorable that it is an easy choice: go down the street.

I came here with a party of 4 around 5:00pm on a Thursday. The place was pretty packed, but we were seated almost immediately. They have a pretty short menu and I didn’t find that they had many seafood options. We started off with oyster shooters which were great. Then we had another round, which was even better. I ordered the Seafood Bucatini and my husband had a Crab and Lobster sandwich. The food came out quickly and both entrees were delicious. Not sure what happened, but at the end of the night I felt very sick. I think maybe it was just too much cheese and oil for my stomach. The setting is really beautiful and I wish I had eaten here when the sun was up so I could see the water. The waitress was very nice and I liked that each waiter/waitress has a little autograph/comment book. The prices are about $ 20 – 30 an entrée. I really wanted to like this place, but they just didn’t really have anything on the menu that I really wanted. I know I sound picky, but I’m hoping someone knows what I mean by that. I guess I was expecting more fresh seafood items.

Beaches is fantastic! Unfortunately it’s out of my way and sometimes out of my budget, but it is nice to visit once in a while as a special treat. They rotate 3 chefs throughout the week and always use the freshest ingredients. We were fortunate a few years ago to get a standing reservation for the Christmas Ships. It’s a magical night — we get the same table every year, there are carolers, and of course a spectacular view. Our favorite server from another restaurant is now at Beaches, so we’re going to make a valiant effort to hit more happy hours as that’s the most affordable option. I’m on a budget, ok?!

Went here tonight for my brother-in-law’s birthday. Service was okay except for our waitress forgetting my nephew’s food so we had to ask for it. The food was not very good though. I had the lobster and crab dip appetizer. I didn’t really like the taste and the sweet peppers on top didn’t go with the dish. The clam chowder was thick and just tasted like flour. Very tasteless and hardly any clam. I also had the bleu cheese balsamic salad which was good but nothing great. Overall the food was disappointing and I think we were all shocked to realize that Beaches doesn’t do anything special for someone’s birthday. He just got a fake lei on his neck. I’ve never been to a restaurant that doesn’t sing happy birthday or have a dessert for the birthday boy. So strange. I wouldn’t go back.

I’ve been here way more than the number of times I’ve checked in and I’m pretty surprised I haven’t written a review yet. I’ll get the negative bit out of the way first. It can be kinda noisy… and yup, that’s about all I can say for negatives. I love the seating, I love the view, and I love the food. In fact, I initially gave this 4 stars, but I’m going to bump that up to 5 because I just like this place so much. If you have kiddos with you, they have a cool little deal where the kids get to make their own sundae and pick a little toy out of a treasure chest. I’ve never seen a kid frown after doing that. Finally, and I hope that including this in my review doesn’t mean it’ll go away, I stumbled upon a little secret last time I was there. They do not have onion rings on the menu, but I asked anyway. The waitress looked around a little shifty-eyed like and said it depends on how busy the kitchen is and she would check. Apparently they weren’t too busy, because with my meal I received, and I’m not being hyperbolic here, the best onion rings I’ve ever had. The best. Ever. And they were enormous. I actually don’t even want to try to describe them further because if you’re intrigued enough to ask for them, and you get them, I want you to experience the joy just like I did. And if someone from management is reading this, please just add those bad boys to your menu! Seriously. And the house salad totally kicks ass too.

We came for Beaches happy hour and it was good!!! We got a variety of items to share between four people. Burgers calamari fish and chips and the korean tidbits All were delicious. My favorite was the fish and chips. Next favorite was the calamari. The burger on happy hour menu didn’t come with fries. And the Korean tidbits was okay. I had their berry mango margarita and it was so good! perfect sweet with just enough alcohol. I love the view. This is definitely a restaurant you take your out of town guests for happy hour + the view of the river.

What a wonderful time we had at Beaches! We asked to be seated outside off of the Columbia River. The weather was perfect for four Texans in Vancouver, WA. We were privileged to have Aimee as our server. She informed us that this was not normal weather for this part of the country; normally it rains 70% of the time. What we got was 70%, cool breeze and sunshine. My husband and son started out with a tasting of two of the beers they had on tap; my husband ended up with having Corona Light and my son had Moscow Mule w/Crown Royal. My daughter ordered the Hayden Island Iced Tea, and I had good olé’ un-sweetend iced tea. We tried the tempura calamari which was truly amazing, served with yuzu lime aioli. So let me talk about what my husband and I had; Rainbow Trout with skin on bottom which was flavorfully seasoned and served with really good garlic mashed potatoes and grilled onions, carrots, and green beans. This was delicious. My son had the farm raised Salmon also served with garlic mashed potatoes, and he had nothing left on his plate. He communicated between bites that it was very good. The mac and cheese was a hit with my daughter; this is a 5 cheese blend of provolone, mozzarella, cheddar, bleu and parmesan cheeses which is baked with a crumb topping. Well, you know how they say, calories don’t count while you are on vacation so we ordered two desserts to share among the four of us. The one I shared with my husband was the Roca Foster; let me do my best here to describe what was in this pleasing to my taste buds dish. Well it had bananas and ice cream, almonds, whipped topping and I believe a caramel sauce, it had a decorative sugar ornament on top of it. Sorry, I can’t describe the other, but it was equally as elegant two spoons found the bottom of the bowl. Thank you Aimee for making this more than just a meal out with family!
