Greetings all! So I stepped into this barber shop for the first time today(I’ve never noticed it before). I was grabbing some coffee at the place next door and had some time to kill when I noticed this little hole-in-the-wall shop and figured I’d give it a try. I had the pleasure of meeting Deborah today whom performed a miracle on my previously hack jobbed haircut. The shop was a peaceful and welcoming place. Fashioned with old car models and funny signs gave it a warm«man cave» atmosphere. Her little dog was way cute and very friendly but well mannered. But back to the point, my haircut was amazing done in a very reasonable amount of time at a fair price. The little bit of extra time and care she put into my haircut really helped my confidence. She wanted to make sure I was happy. It was pleasant to go to a shop and not feel like I was on a used car lot. There was no forceful product pushing, no rush to get out of the chair and no long lines, I mattered. After the ordeal was finished she took some extra time to show me how to style my new haircut and told me what she used in case I liked it. The shop was tidy and her equipment was well maintained. It was nice to see equipment being sterilized unlike most of those franchise stores where all they care about is customer turnaround and cut corners at the cost of cleanliness. I’m excited to come back Deborah, see ya in a few weeks! Best regards, and give this shop a shot!

I Love this place! She specializes in men’s hair, but Amy does an awesome job on both my husband’s hair AND mine too,(and my hair is unruly and difficult to cut). Her prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed. She is really nice and very personable, and I feel very confident that I will get a good haircut. Her little dog Sadie is super cool too. What more can I say? Don’t go to one of those«bargain basement» haircut places unless you want a bad haircut. Support your local small business!

I have been a customer of Amy’s since Summer time 1993 when she was in a different shop a few Blocks West of her now present location ! To say that Amy is personable is an understatement? She is a sweetheart, And one of those type of people one meets that is enjoyable to be around?” Her demeanor is very pleasant? And her work professional !” Her shop always relaxing with her companion little dog that is always a fixture in her shop and curled up in the corner always on guard too!”? Amy is a very warm person and nice conversationalist? Now I could go on and on but my point is taken? Her shop is easy access off I-5 on 78th in Salmon Creek which is Vancouver ! Thank you” Larry from La Center;

NE side of NE78th&NE Hwy. 99 I really wanted to love this place more… Amy is a true sweet heart and does a great job, BUT She only accepts cash and does not clean hair up after each cut. There was hair all over the floor and there was a huge glob of hair on my shoe. On the plus side she does think outside of the box in that each hair cut does come with a free back massage with a battery operated handheld massager. Pricewise she is about a $ 1 more than say Super Cuts so a little on the high side for a barber from what I’ve seen.

I used to go to Amy’s but I don’t anymore. Her haircuts were fine — she does a pretty good job of remembering how you want your hair cut from one time to the next. I ended up going somewhere else because of one bad experience — which might actually be a good experience for others. It was a rainy day and I went in for a haircut. Amy’s little white dog was there, and someone had brought in their daughter who had received a little white dog just like Amy’s for Christmas or something. Another patron then walked in with his bigger dog that was wet from the rain and therefore smelled like wet dog. The little girl’s dog was so excited by the bigger dog it peed on the floor. Amy took time to go clean up the dog pee and then get back to the haircut. Now she used disinfectant and washed her hands and all that — but I don’t like dogs much — especially when it involves moisture — so I left that day without getting a haircut, and haven’t been back. So if that sort of experience sounds like fun to you, then this is the place for you and your dog. If not, there are other choices. Now like I said — the haircuts are good, which is why this is 3 stars. The rest of the experience is what lost the last 2 for me.

I started going to Amy’s Baber Shop several months ago. Previously I went to a sports branded chain barber shop that was always crowded. Amy’s Barber Shop reminds me of the local barbershop that I used go to in my hometown to get my haircut when I was a kid. She has 3 chairs, but I think that Amy is the only barber(she has a girl cut women’s hair on Thursdays). Amy is usually there along with her dog Sadie(the best dog in the world, who is very friendly, loves kids and will usually jump in your lap and want to be petted). I think I will probably get my hair cut here from now on NOTES: Women’s haircuts only on Thursdays; Amy’s Barbershop is cash only
