Zankou Chicken

My husband and I always go to this location, because they are close to where I live, I refuse to go here anymore because the quality of service sucks! And the food is terrible, my husband decided to go and eat here again, I never eat here!!! This place makes me stick to my diet, it’s that bad!!! My husband ordered a chicken kabob plate and he waited 30 min and later he was told they were out of rice they said can they substitute it for something else, but he said what do you have and they said bread or salad he said, no he didn’t want that, he said discount the price for not having the rice, and the guy said no! He ask for his money back and left. We ended up going to jersey mikes. They need to learn how to treat customers from jersey mikes employees.

Ok so I pass by Zankus the other day to pick up some chicken for dinner at home.
I love to buy the whole chicken family dinner.
I was kind of surprise when I was told that
they didn’t have chickens ready!
At 7pm they disny have any chickens ready!
The girl told me that it was going to be about an hour wait… Who in the world sells chicken and don’t have chickens ready to sell?
Well I had to order something else.
And I was disappointed with what I order .
The chicken and meat kabbobs where all dry and burn!

Don’t get me wrong we love Zankus!
But I got disappointed and that’s why I’m wrinting this review!
I really hope it’s better next time!

After a really long day at work I decided to pick up Zanku since it was on the way home. They basically forgot to make my order and it took over 40 minutes before I got my food. It was a small order (two wraps and a plate), and they weren’t even busy. I got a couple sides as well and the whole thing ended up costing me $ 34. Which was not worth what I got, even without counting the delay.
As for the food, it was alright. The wraps are good but not amazing. The chicken inside was dry, though there was a good amount.
I didn’t feel I got what I paid for. Overall it was a very bad experience and I wouldn’t come back.

Been here a bunch of a times but haven’t left a review yet! This place is awesome if you love yourself some Mediterranean food!
The whole rotisserie chicken is delicioso! Moist and flavorful and worth every bite!
My other go to is the chicken and steak kebab combo platter that comes with rice, white onions, pickled vegetables, hummus, pita bread and of course the oh so savory garlic butter it comes with. The combo is about $ 13 but plenty to share with another person.
Writing this review is making me hungry for some Zankou, might just have to run over there and get me some now now!

Excellent food for a good price. Took my family to eat here and they loved it too. I had the combo kabob plate and the chicken and beef kabobs were so good. The pita bread and garlic butter hit the spot too. The rice and tomato complete the meal. My girls and nephew had a whole chicken and they ate most of it. Don’t get over into the VALLEY often, but next time I do, I’ll make a pit stop at ZANKOU.

First time here at Zankou Chicken. We stayed at the hotel nearby on our trip to Universal Studios and this restaurant was walking distance from the hotel. The food was fresh and top class. I had a chicken tarna plate and it was delicious!
The food including the salad was fresh and the hummus was awesome!

The best food anywhere ever! I will never move from Southern California because I would miss it too much. Delicious garlic paste. Crispy moist rotisserie chicken. Yummy yummy hummus tahini falafel I want it alllll each time we come all the way from granada hills to go to this one. Soft pita ! Love this foooood!

Mariam has excellent customer service. Their food is delicious. I come here every time I go to Costco and it never disappoints.

I really love Zankou Chicken. I come here a lot. Their chicken plate with garlic sauce is so freaking good. Really pleased with customer service too.

This place is delicious and gives a lot of food, one plate can reallt feed two people;)

Was staying at the hotel next door and decided to give it a try and we’re glad we did. Had the chicken tarna wrap. Chicken was marinated and delicious. The pita was a bit hard but edible. It was a good quick meal after a long day. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

I was in a rush after the gym and just wanted a place nearby to grab a bite to eat. Well, at Zankou, all the plates are way more than just a bite! They come with your choice of meat, hummus, veggies, pita bread and rice. It’s a lot of food which I love.
I normally lean towards red meat but the chicken kebab is my favorite here. It’s super juicy and moist. If it’s your first time, I would recommend you get 1 chicken skewer and 1 lule skewer. My boyfriend got the tri tip which was just okay. It was dry and flavorless in my opinion.
The workers here are super nice each time I’ve gone. Mariam might just be the sweetest lady ever.
Zankou has become one of my favorite places to eat now and I am here weekly.
Parking sucks though but at least they don’t charge for their garlic sauce anymore! Get a LOT of it! It is so good. Dip your meat in it, your rice, your pita bread. Everything.

tried this place with the bf for the first time about five days a go. I love some Mediterranean food, so my to my surprise when my bf suggested this place. I had to check them out. Im not expert when it comes to Mediterranean food, but I have tasted that require good tasting food in order to be happy…
My experience all in all:
We ordered over the phone. Just wanted to get there and pick up before our show «empire» came on. We got there and there was a couple people sitting there eating, and looked like they were enjoying their food. The ladies there are nice, we got our food right away and left.
verdict in food:
It was good, I think I’ve had better falafels. but maybe that’s just me. The salad was really good I will be coming here again, but I might order something different.

Of all the Zankou restaurants, this location is my favorite. The food and service are always great.

Great place for lunch. If you like chicken kebobs, hummus and awesome garlic butter sauce then you need to get yourself to a Zankou location for lunch. Not cheap but the portions are decent and it’s all good.

Before I start this review, I have to say, I’ve been fooled. I thought Zankou was a healthy option this entire time, but I think I’ve just been lying to myself to make myself feel better about choosing Zankou over other options. The chicken tarna plate is unfortunately 1,240 calories. Sorry, I AM that person who checks the calories for basically everything I eat. BUT I continued to eat it even after knowing how many calories this deliciousness had. That being said, IT’S THAT GOOD. Ugh, I can’t wait to go back…

Came in today with a friend for Shawerma and Falafel. When we arrived the place had no line with few customers dinning in. Minutes later, the place got very busy and people started to form a line. Lucky for us!
Parking was not an issue, we found parking right on the front of the store.
Service was fine, no issues. Now, when you order you are given one of those buzzers to let you know your order is ready for pick-​up. I guess no more annoying sounds of calling customers by their ticket number… Nice touch!
***THE FOOD***
+++TRI TIP SHAWERMA+++ We both had this and I have to say it was very tasty and the meat was very tender. Chunks of sliced meat sandwiched inside of Pita bread filled with Tahini sauce. The only issue we had with the bread, it was crumbling and the reason for that it was maybe a day or two old not fresh. Normally fresh pita does not crumble like that.
+++FALAFEL+++ My friend never had Falafel before and was wondering what the heck they tasted like. So after explaining about what goes in the falafel I ordered 4 pieces that came with sides of Tahini sauce. The falafel were freshly fried, but was a little under-​cooked in the middle. The Tahini sauce was very thick but tasty. We both enjoyed the falafel.
This is by far my favorite location out of all Zankou’s. The only other one I would eat at is the ordinal location in Hollywood.

This one of those places that unless a local introduce you to them you will never try or stop at. A complete whole in the wall and unassuming, but Zankou Chicken delivers raw authenticity, vibrant favors and simple taste of MiddleEastern and Mediterranean most basic dishes.
I recommend that is you are up for great rotisserie chicken, shawarma and other plates with good humus stop here.
This part unknown will not disappoint. 4 start because of the atmosphere.
If I am in LA I always try to visit this place.

105 heat wave and they have NO AIR CONDITIONING. Fans not working or on slowest speed. I feel so bad for the employees working here.

Tonight I ordered dinner from this place. I had been here awhile ago… years ago but I remember them having good chicken. And my memory was right! I ordered the chicken kabob with hummus, salad, and two falafels. The meal comes with two pitas as well.
The service was good. The girls at the register were nice, friendly and helpful. However the reason I’m giving them 4 stars is because I ordered a salad as a side order. But as you can see in the picture they forgot it. When I asked her about it she said it was under the chicken. I think they just gave me double hummus and I really should have insisted they fix it.
Even with their mistake of the salad I still loved the chicken. It was juicy, tender and flavored just right. The food was the perfect temperature and the falafels tasted like perfection!
Also parking isn’t the best on the street… but I discovered there is a garage next to the restaurant that is reserved for them.
