My friend got his mom something from here and said it was absolutely delicious and it was the aroz con leche. It was a grande size similar to the size at Starbucks. It’s only 4.00 $

Vanilla & Cajeta is my fave! The only thing is that a lot of the items are in Spanish only or they are flavors that have NO English translation so maybe take a friend or do your research!

I’ve only tasted their Raspados here, the Vanilla and Strawberry with lechera. They’re really good! It’s my new go to spot when I have a sweet tooth craving especially since it’s right across the street from my new apartment at IMT. Love it! I’m actually craving one right now and going to get one… yumm! Bye!

From what I understand the owner started off selling his raspados on the street and eventually grew a big enough following that he saved up enough money to open a physical storefront. Perhaps I am just a sucker for a good success story so maybe my review is seen through rose colored glasses. However nonetheless I think the product speaks for itself. Hell I don’t even know if the story is true, but I do know that this place makes some tasty drinks. Full disclosure I am a point and pay kind of customer. I forget the names and usually just point to pictures like some Pavlonian experiment waiting to be awarded with my delicious drink. I normally get the chamango and the tamarind based drink. Win wins in my book. However as a huge fan of corn, a corniessuer if you will, I was disappointed in their corn in a cup. The corn was really watery, tough to chew and rubbery unlike the multitude of street corn options you can get throughout LA. Some might like it this way, but it was just not for me. And trust me I LOVEMESOMESTREEETCORN! Also worth not was the Pina loca, a diabolically constructed fruit monster only a mad man could have conjured up. I say this with good intentions. ITIS A HUGEMONOLITHOFFRUIT! Delicious but make sure you know what you are getting into, it is much bigger than the picture. Easily 2 – 3 people could be satisfied with this beast. I like it but not a fan of the cucumber inside. Check this place out if you are in the valley and need of some raspados.

Don’t get the esquite. The corn was old and hard with no flavor. The grated parmesan was not enough to cover the nasty stale flavor. Not the norm for this place, but it was terrible. Still has the best tostilocos on the planet

Great little place to get authentic mexican refreshments and treats. I personally would recommend the tostilocos. They are spicy and flavorful. One of my favorite items on their menu.

When this place first opened up, it was on point with its chumango. Don’t know the guys name who would make it. I believe he is the owner, every time he would make it, I would tell my friends to come to this place. Sad to say but its lost its touch. You have new employees that don’t know what they are doing. My chumango tasted like watered down lemonade. I have given up on coming back to this place. They need to train their employees on how make their raspados good again. Save your money and go to Raspados Xpress!

My review is based on my first experience… And what I got first. I’ve been working across from tucoz for about a month now co workers said food was good… Finally decided to give it a shot b/c i forgot my lunch and thought why not… I got a torta de asada. I don’t really like tortas I peferb tacos… but they only have tortas and tostadas so I got torta… And that was the best decision ever I loved it i was honestly amazed I didn’t expect to like it! The meat was thin but it had enough meat… Everything was great the only thing is it was about $ 6.50 for just the torta and it wasn’t big I felt like it could have been a bit bigger but, it was great quality so it kind of makes up for. I for sure know where to go if I ever forget lunch again!

It’s ok. I went because this place is closer than other raspado places. The day I went was a busy Sunday, and they’re were 3 employees. One girl who took my order– she was super sweet, but a little overwhelmed seeing how it was busy and the other two employees were just chatting away in plain view of the customer. After I ordered I had to wait forever cuz that one poor girl was on her own taking care of all the orders. The raspasos themselves were just ok. I may go back, but seeing how I’m so damn lazy i won’t go out of my way for this. Oh the parking blows.

Just left here and I have to say, I am SUPER disappointed. My boyfriend was craving chicharron preparado and we heard this place was good so we decided to try it. I ordered a tostada that was supposed to have, beans, pico de gallo & chicken, a chicharron preparado, & a mango raspado. I hate to say that everything and I mean everything was gross. The chicharron was old(stale) and didn’t have flavor, bad toppings and in my boyfriends words, «just nasty». The tostada was really bad, chicken was so dry and old, the«beans» were just like dirty water spread on the tostada, I’m serious! Lastly the raspado was all syrup! So nasty, with every sip I swear my mouth was just full of syrup. We have tried other places and ordered the exact same thing and this was by far the worst. The place is cute and clean but man the food is so bad.

They need to better train their staff. Have a system on how to take the orders to getting the food out. The cashier was very obviously new to working as she was unsure on how to use their touchpad. She didn’t know their menu and had to ask one of the other girls making the raspados if they had certain items. The line continued to grow as she tried to punch in our order. And once we got our order, it was only half the order. Had to physically show the receipt that we ordered drinks, since the girl making them kept telling us it wasn’t on the receipt. They need to retrain everyone. I was looking forward to the corn but that was a disappointment. They use frozen corn and it came out incredibly watery. Like another reviewer said, it was like eating corn soup. It just wasn’t good.

Super happy he got his own location. It’s on Van Nuys between vanowen and Sherman way. The place is nice. It’s spacious. I came in around 2:30pm on Thursday. It was empty. Everything was clean and tidy. The cashier and girl that prepared our raspados is very nice and polite. She offered us a sample of a new flavor they have which is pico de gallo. It was very good with pieces of fruit in it. I decided to go with my usual pick. A small tamarindo with chile, sal and lime. My mom and sister had a medium vanilla with lechera. The raspados are still very good and fresh. I absolutely loved the refreshing flavor of the tamarindo and chile and lime. It was spicy just how I like it. I also tried my moms vanilla raspado. The vanilla is so full of flavor and sweet. For the 3 raspados we paid close to $ 9. It’s a pretty good price considering that most of the raspados they sell have actual chunks of fruit. They also offer other options such as tortas, agua fresca, esquites, tostilocos and tostadas. Overall my experience here was great. They are a new business and I wish them the best of luck. They seem like nice people.
