Worst customer service! My friend and I went yesterday to have some tacos(we were craving it and Socorro’s was the closest to us at the moment). Bad idea! The girl at the register ask us to sit down and someone will be there to help us, no one ever came until my friend got up to ask if we could order. I ordered a carne asada taco and taco de birria. When the tacos arrived, the asada taco had no onions nor cilantro but it was topped with unmelted cheese. Our server asked if we wanted everything and we said yes, yet it came with nothing but cheese. My friend had asked for avocado and radishes. Again he had to asked the girl 3 times and once he got the avocado(which she did not bring it with a great attitude), she came out with the worst looking miserable slices AND he never got the radishes. I know Socorro’s may not be known for the tacos but sheesh they need to step up their game with customer services. The only good thing about our meal was the handmade corn tortillas. Will not be coming to this location again.

The taco plate is what I’ve ordered in the past. The tortillas are homemade with carne asada and cheese. However the meat is kinda bland and oily. It also comes with beans and rice. Other minus about this place is its cash only, and that its always busy so the wait can be longer than most places. So calling in your order is always the best.

Only thing this place has going for them is the handmade tortillas. Their chile rojo salsa is too thick not spicy at all and oily. Chilaquiles were made with enchilada sauce and super oily, they were too mixed that we could only have few bites before becoming Disgusted. The molcajete was ok… good flavor. The place wasnt even packed… they had 3 people waiting tables and sevice wasnt that great. They only came once and forgot to bring us what we asked for. Rice and beans lacked flavor and salt. This is far from authentic mexican as they have incorporated alot of processed items to prepare their food. Thanks, but no thanks. I will stick ro my lenchitas, they have the best authentic mexican food with homeade tortillas.

I was excited to try out this restaurant as I had heard great things about it. Everything that me and my family order was so bland. I had to put so much Chile and lemon on my menudo to give it some flavor. My son got a carne asada taco, the meet was flavorless. Would not go back.

Wait it deserves a ZERO star ! By far the worst worst service ever!!! that me and my family had to walk out after waiting for more than 45 min we never got our food ! We got our drinks because we demanded them ! The people acted the whole time as if we were to blame for coming to dine her… very rude never coming back and there’s flies flying every where … Our waitress never came to our table after ordering our food… three other families got there ten minutes after us and they got there food! So unprofessional! i recommend you going somewhere else where you will get proper service.

I love their burritos and tacos. They do have terrible parking and it takes a while to get your food. If you’re patient however you will be rewarded with delicious food

I dont know how to rate this place, if i rate based on food it is a 5 star delicious mexican food type of joint. However if I rate based on cleaningness and overall quality of the place is a good 2 stars. This place looks horrible, needs cleaning, remodeling, bigger space better servers and faster working people. Regardless of how bad the service and quality of the place is, the food here is delicious. The carne always has plenty of juice and is soft to chew, the sopes are delicious and the bean is to die for. The tortillas are hand made fresh and the guacamole is made om the spot as you order so is super savory and fresh. This mexican place is the best of most chunty mexican joints you see out there, certainly not better than salsa and beer but close enough. At least based on food, this place gets 3 and a half stars, unfortunately the place itself is so bad is hard to ignore. I would recommend take out?

Cash only. Ordered tacos because I really wanted to try the handmade tortillas. The tacos were good but could use a bit more flavor. They were a little bland. Not sure if you can just buy tortillas in bulk. That would be good.

This restaurant is dirty! The food is decent. They have advertisements on the menu which was annoying. The service is okay. It’s not bad but for sure it’s not the best. The only plus to this place is the handmade corn tortillas. I think if they kept it clean they would get four stars.

This place has really good tacos, menudo and horchAta ! Hand made tortillas and the carne Asada always tastes fresh. The ambience is usually calm and comfy but I wish they accepted credit cards. Sometimes I don’t have cash on me. Well I like coming here for a nice fast lunch that gets it right every time. Oh and the service is always so friendly and fast.

Socorro’s…Me Gusto’…their fresh tortillas are as many others here have raved about make their taco’s stand out. It’s the definition of a strip mall taco joint, seating for a couple of dozen people, order at the counter and cash only .They do have the always refreshing Mexican Coca Cola to wash down the authentic style vittles. Ohh and good luck with the parking, it’s close to the Van Nuys court house and government offices so lunchtime can be a challenge. Tacos de Pollo-chicken Tacos, they were not your puny two biters, 2 of these are a meal to be sure. My only complaint was that they left the skin, and not the crispy kind, on the chicken. I had to remedy myself by pulling the taco apart and re-assembling the taco as the skin was just too rubbery. Thankfully the taco shined through after a bit of improvisation on my part. Carne Asada tacos, a bit on the dry side(it was a late lunch) still loads of flavor and a generous authentic taste. Again, the fresh hand made tortillas are simply amazing and give their food a richness that helps the the tacos come together. A solid choice for satisfying a craving for authentic Mexican food on the cheap and on the casual. It’s a firm 3 to 4 star place depending on the time of day you are there and of course what you order.

Stopped by here for brunch after a Sunday morning shopping run. It just happened to caught our eye as we weren’t looking for anywhere fancy to eat. There was a line out the door and even though the place was small, the food on the tables looked good. We waited probably a good 20 minutes before we were seated. Ordered our food and when we got it a short time later. I had the chorizo and eggs and bf had ham & eggs. I LOVED my brunch especially with the hot sauce they serve with it. It may be too salty for some palates but for me it was awesome. Bf enjoyed his ham & eggs which I thought was good too but I liked my food better. Last but not least they give you at least 2 thick fresh corn tortillas per person which again were awesome! This place may be a hole in the wall but it sure serves some great Mexican food! I’d much rather eat there than some chain Mex place anyday.
