Absolute worst experience ever. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Worst customer service, terrible job at cleaning. The list goes on.

I recently moved to this area from Glendale where I had a great cleaners I went to for years. Needed a new place, thought I’d give them a shot. First time I dropped stuff off it was nice, the lady was nice. I had a suit jacket that had a button fall off and I asked if they can put it back on. She said sure, its $ 5 I said fine. I specifically asked where she wanted the detached button and she said just leave it in the pocket. Fast forward five days. I come to pick it up and get the bill, including the cost of attaching the button. Sure enough upon looking at my jacket I realize that the button is not attached. I ask about it and then check the pocket and the button is missing. She then proceeds to tell me she has no idea where the button is. No sorry, no let me fix this. Instead she offers to put a small black button that does not match any buttons on the jacket. I decline and ask for a resolution. She then proceeds to offer to discount my bill by five dollars because ‘it’s the cost of the button’. Ridiculous. After going back and forth she tells me to give her a week and she will try and find a button that matches and I agree. She tells me not to pay for this order and that it’s on the house for the mess up. A week later to my surprise she found a similar, although larger button that doesn’t fit as well but I’ll take it. I drop off my suit again along with a few extra shirts. She tells me it will take her another three days to attach the button which seems pretty long. I say fine. Upon my return, the buttons are attached and I am presented with the bill for the shirts I dropped off and the original bill that was supposed to be on the house. INCLUDING THE FIVE DOLLAR CHARGE TO PUT THE BUTTON ON! I’m sorry what!!! Anyways, I will never ever be going back here again. Decent effort but being greedy is not how you keep a client. I rarely write reviews on Unilocal anymore but jeez you’re not even worth one star.

I have been to many dry cleaners by far this is the best cleaners I’ve ever been to they have my clothes ready whenever I ask them for, they even have same day service and the staff are very welcoming. The best thing about this cleaners is they got a lot of offers and coupons.

What amazed me about Selective cleaners is that, me and my staff have been to all the locations to clean our uniforms and we average about 77 guys. and we drop our stuff in the morning and receive it the next morning. So turn around is extremely quick and the quality is the best .
On top of that, they give a free laundry bag to everyone who brings their laundry in, which is very convenient for me.

I don’t know that any dry cleaners would be worth «as good as it gets.» Its all pretty much the same to me… the only difference is that while I was leaving two men asked me for change, I said I had none. One asked me if I was going to ballet, the other said no shes going to play piano or violin or something. I guess because of my ethnicity??? :)
Parking: Plentiful in the lot.
Location: Liquor store and restaurants. Sometimes men will ask you for change, but thats Van Nuys for you.
Prices:
$ 12 for my short coat.
I think when I did a big coat and 2 slacks it was around $ 20.

Service:
Friendly, all they ask is your name and phonenumber. I lost my ticket and they found me no problem.
They take cash and card thankfully.

Same here, asked for a pair of pants to be lengthen one inch and they shorten them one inch. They often screw up any thing that requires any direction.

I brought in pants for alteration. I asked them to lengthen one inch. The slip said «Lengthen» in all caps. The tailor shortened the pants one inch and cut off the excess so the pants were two inches short and totally unwearable. I left a brand-​new pair of pants that I’d never worn there for them to throw away. So unprofessional. They need to hire a tailor who can read.

I’ve never used a dry cleaners before, but I got a new job and have to wear the whole dress shirt and tie all the time that I totally don’t want to clean and iron. So I checked out Selective Cleaners and it was great. Nine dress shirts were ready in two days and they charged $ 3.65 a shirt. I don’t know if that’s a good deal or not, but it seems very reasonable to me. The staff was very friendly and fast to process my order. I’ll make sure to go back again soon :)

Just as Casey mentioned, this staff is great. I walk in to the same guy who is super sweet and knows who I am. He is great! My stuff is always ready on time and never had any issues. Plus, I always receive a lot of coupons from them!

Selective Cleaners is my dry cleaner, and I’ll certainly miss it when I no longer live in Van Nuys. The staff is generally really nice, but I mostly deal with one guy who works there who treats me really well. After going there for a couple of months, he knew my «usual» and, if he spotted my car parking, would have a ticket printed for me to pick up the next day. I don’t even bother to lock my car anymore when I drop off because it’s always so fast. We typically talk about work or whatever else whenever I pick up, so it makes what would be otherwise be a boring errand into something much more enjoyable. I like going to my dry cleaner, what can I say?
