The Papusas are outstanding! Polish your Spanish– speaking ordering skills before going because English is limited among staff.

0STARS! WORSTCUSTOMERSERVICEEVER! I live just blocks away from this place so I’ve tried to give it the benefit of the doubt several times as I’ve had several problems in the past but no more! They have cheap hand written signs aka rules of their establishment. You should definitely read before ordering! Big Red flag to begin with! In my opinion they are also way over priced.. $ 5 for a Lg drink?! In my latest experience I ordered 7 pupusas to go and was only given 6. I called and spoke to «the person in charge» only to be told«It was your fault you didn’t check the order before you left and it’s not my responsibility to feed your family!» That is no way to speak to your customers and I will not spend another penny at this place again and I suggest you don’t either!

Not a fancy place but the food was good, cold beer and music just right for a Friday night. I do recommend if you’re into central american ambience and dont mind karaōke and salvadorian music. Really liked the pupusas and yuca.

This place is a in a pretty small parking lot(typical lot in the valley). When arriving there is a lot of table and booths as well. Seems like maybe the booth seats are kind of old because the one I had sat on had a huge tear on it. After ordering two cheese pupusas I had decided that I actually wanted to take off and eat somewhere else since this place had a $ 15 minimum however, I was told that the food was already being prepared(2 minutes after I order) granted, it was empy in there. All things considered I decided to stick around(even though I was told I was going to be charged $ 1 to use my credit card). When the pupusas came out they were very good and even better with some cobbage they came with. The food was pretty good but I wont be back.

These pupusas are the bomb. One of the best places in the valley. Parking lot isn’t great but it’s worth it with the food her.

Food is okay, but service needs a little improvement. I don’t mind when it’s busy, but even when there’s only about 3 parties in the restaurant they’re not that attentive.

Mmmmmm… La Nueva Fogata is sooooo gooooood!!! Love the bean and cheese pupusas. My husband is a big fan, too. We’ve tried most of the different types and they’re all good — the b&c are just my fav :) Gave 4⁄5 stars because it does take a while to eat there. I know nothing about cooking pupusas, so maybe fresh pupusas do take 20 minutes to cook… but when dining in, do leave plenty of time. Ordering takes a while, and then the food takes quite a bit longer — and that’s if there’s no crowd. The service is friendly, however is definitely not one that’s great if you’re in a rush ;) That said, it’s delicious! And we do eat there quite a bit!

Absolutely love the pupusas. The greasier the better. The masa is never too dry and cracking, I often get the revueltas and the meat to cheese, to refried bean ratio is always on point. A little of everything in each bite. Made fresh to the order. Always friendly service, always fresh. Mondays are .99 cent pupusas all day! Go and get em!

Horrible service! Rude waitress! Went to pick up 5 pupusas and I asked for forks and the host/waitress said they don’t give out forks for Pupasas, I told her I don’t eat with my hands, she gave me 1 fork, so I asked for another and she gave me attitude. I also asked for 2 plastic knives she said they didn’t have any. Never going back again!

The service is better than usual Salvadoran restaurants. The waitress are nice and accommodating. The place is not fancy but its a nice casual sit-in. I like to go during the week or catch early dinner on a weekend. The pupusas are reasonably priced and taste pretty good. I like the tomato sauce and curtido(cabbage in vinegar) that they provide for the pupusas. Very tasty and satisfying. I can eat almost 2. They are quite large. The seafood is really fresh and delicious too. My boyfriend likes the house Shrimp cocktail and I enjoy the tostadas de ceviche. Very fresh. Family environment, except on the weekends after 8 pm. They have live music(a guy signing to tracks). Hes actually pretty good. He sings all the Latin classic covers of Juan Gabriel, Marco Antonio Solis, amongst others. They also play music while he is on break and people dance in the tiny dance floor. Though its entertaining, i noticed the crowd is different(no longer a family environment even though people take kids) but there is a lot of couples/groups drinking while they are enjoying the show. I think thats more of an adult environment and its a bit too loud for my taste. Otherwise, I love this place. It offer a variety of Salvadorean and Mexican dishes. Oh parking is not the best because its located in a shopping center. So be prepared.

Okay food, but HORRIBLESERVICE! We waited 20 minutes for them to even take our order, there was only ONE server for a restaurant that was full! and it took 45 minutes to get our food(I timed it) NOTWORTHTHEWAIT. Also i passed by the kitchen there was only one person in the kitchen and she was on her phone. Maybe if she focused on completing the orders and not talking on her phone we could have gotten our food a lot faster.

This is one of those places where the food definitely trumps the service. I can wait way too long for food here, so I actually try to avoid coming in at all– I call about 15 minutes ahead to order my favorites, and then I get my tasties without the frustration. If you don’t know pupusas, they’re indescribably wonderful. Get the revuelta puspusas with extra cabbage. The plaintains with black beans and cream are also good and very authentic. Every once in a while I order something new to try, and haven’t been disappointed. Try it!

My first Salvadorian food experience. Other than odd décor, worn out table and incredibly loud and annoying live music, the experience over all was very pleasurable. Our server was very friendly and made sure our kids got extra plates too without asking for it. I enjoyed their food very much as well. Snce this is my first time at the Salvadorian place, I am not sure if it’s like this over all… But compare to Mexican, they were lighter on the spice as well as less lard smell/taste. It was interesting to dip fried plantains on a sour crème and fried beans. Speaking of fried beans, they were very creamy and smooth. Very yummy. Stuffed bell pepper with pork and vege was very hearty and savory. But I wish there was a bit more spices added to it. Carne asada plate was great! Next time, I will be sure to try their pupusas.

Oh Nueva Fogata, how you satisfy my need for an authentic & yummy papusa The Nueva Fogata is snuggled in a dinky strip mall, between a medical marijuana dispensary and a 7 – 11. Location isn’t prime, but it’s one of those mom & pop shop/hole in the wall kinda places. And lets be honest, most of the time those places are gems… with the best food at the best prices. I personally LOVE the revuelta pupusa. My opinion may be biased since it’s usually the only thing I order… but damn they are good! Crispy edges with a gooey middle… yum! And their slaw & salsa to top it off is delish! **update: I’ve tried their Salvadorean empanadas, holy eff… so good — an order of 3 is only $ 5** Literally the best $ 2 I can spend is on pupusas from this place. This is my 3rd time coming here and definitely won’t be my last! If you are looking for a delicious pupsa for dirt cheap, this is the place to get them! Quick tip: On Monday & Wednesdays, their pupusas are only $ 1!
