Great eats for fabulous prices! I prefer to call my orders in and pick up because they can be busy but they are close to where I work so I frequent them for lunch. The super fries are truly super! A must try spot. Only have tries their Mexican style cuisine but they offer burgers and much more.

My favorite Mexican Fix! I always get the Carne Asada Nachos. Their carne asada is deliciously marinated. They fresh fry their own nachos chips… which makes it not your ordinary nachos. Piled on with nacho cheese, re-fried beans, shredded cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, onions & cilantro. I dream of these nachos. Their tempura battered shrimp & fish tacos are biggity bomb too. But I still gravitate towards the nachos. I wish they were opened on Sundays… but maybe it’s for my own good that they’re not :(

This is my favorite hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. Everyone that works here always has such a great attitude, and the food is delicious. Seriously everything I try I love. The prices are awesome, and now they even brought an orange bang machine. Literally my favorite Mexican restaurant for quick and affordable food and I am so glad I found it through Unilocal

Nothing special, nothing wow like people are writing about. We had the fish tacos, carna asada torta, el pastor tacos and nachos. From everything we go the nachos were the best but definitely nothing i’ll brag about.

Holy guacamole… I’ve finally found the best fish tacos in LA! Can I get a hellll yeahhh?! I just went on a trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico where I ate the heck outta some fish tacos. It became an obsession! Since I’ve been home, I’ve been on the hunt for tacos that are as good(or possibly better) than the ones I found in Playa. It’s been a hard and disappointing road, my friends… Until this week!!! I stumbled upon this place randomly, in a fit of hanger one afternoon. I ordered the following: –Battered fish taco –Grilled fish taco –Grilled shrimp taco -(got a free bag of chips and salsa… woot!) The tacos were pretty BIG! The portions of seafood were BIG. No room for much else on the warm, fresh corn tortillas. They put the seafood on a bed of coleslaw and it’s . Fo reals! You can choose which salsa(s) you want on the taco which I appreciated. The salsa bar is legit, too. This is a made-to-order joint and you can tell! Everything tastes SUPER fresh. The quality of seafood is great. The staff are all very sweet guys who are hustling to make your food! Appreciate them and leave a tip! Tips: –If you’re in a hurry, call in your order ahead of time. It’ll be piping hot and ready to go by the time you get there! –It’s located in a tiny strip mall, next door to a panaderia(which looks good!) and a laundromat. –Parking lot is very small but there is street parking. –There is technically outdoor seating(as stated on Unilocal filter) but it’s literally only one small table that seats 2 people. Just FYI in case you’re hoping for more… –Order the battered fish tacos!!! BESTEVER!(The grilled shrimp is a VERY close 2nd as is the grilled fish.) I’ve been going to this place every day since I’ve discovered it! I can’t stop and I won’t stop!

Free delivery with a $ 20 minimum purchase, quick service and good food. The carne asada was flavorful but an obvious low quality cut of beef.

Walked in at 9:35. The«open» sign was illuminated, door was unlocked, people eating in the restaurant and a woman at the cashier. As I begin giving my order someone in the back called out to the cashier. I guess they decided to close right at that exact moment, so I went to a place that actually honors their hours of operation. So I guess if you wanna eat here make sure you get there at least an hour prior to their stated closing time.

The food here has great flavor, the service is extremely good and the place is clean. On this visit we had, fish tacos, shrimp tacos and the asada fries. The kids get their fish tacos plain but hey are usually served with a coleslaw. Our tacos had the slaw on bottom of the fish and I thought it was off this time. A little too runny and excessive. I prefer just dry, thinly sliced cabbage and sour cream but the batter they use is delicious. The asada fries are a MUSTTRY. Probably the best I have had anywhere. The best part is that they are served piping hot. The restraint used in making this dish is what really sets it apart. Not too much of any 1 ingredient, just the right amount of everything. Just add your favorite salsa and enjoy.

What a wonderful little Mexican restaurant. Costa Grande is tucked in the back of a little strip mall on Sepulveda Blvd. in Van Nuys California. Parking can be tricky. Not many spots to park and the spaces are small. I can only imagine what parking is like around rush hour lunch time(CRAZY). I actually went after lunch around 2:30pm on a Thursday and parking was limited but I found a spot in the 25min parking, which was just enough time for me to get a quick bite. Walking in the restaurant I already felt welcomed when the people behind the register and in the kitchen greeted me and said hello. The environment was bright and clean. Plenty of tables and chairs, and a tv for background noise. It was my first time there and I found Costa Grande on Unilocal and chose to go here because of the reviews. After eating the food and the great service now I understand why this restaurant almost has a perfect 5 star rating. I ordered the Super Asada Fries(with no beans) and one Asada and one Al Pastor taco. I was sharing with my Roomie and it was more than enough for the both of us. The bill was $ 16.00 and that fed 2 people. We dined in and the servers brought us chips and salsa while waiting for our order. The food was so delicious and my Roomie and I waddled out of there with big smiles and sleepy eyes. I would definitely recommend Costa Grande to friends and family. Also they are part of the EAT24 community, which would make my next experience with Costa Grande easier. Click, Order, Deliver, Enjoy!

This was the only Mexican Restaurant in Van Nuys where I saw great reviews for! especially with all the Mexican Restaurants in the Valley. I’ve had my fair share of searching for tacos on Unilocal!and 100s of restaurants came up(but then I ordered a burrito :/lol). All the good reviews were pretty good; but in those good reviews, you have those bad reviews. I mean having an expensive taco and the food not being authentic Mexican just doesn’t cut it for me. Then after reading the reviews here, I was pretty much sold! Service: 4* I went around 11:30 before the lunch rush. I was having trouble deciding, but the guy before me took so long that my initial gut reaction turned to «what else can I get on the menu?» An about $ 2 taco turned into an about $ 6 burrito(of course I was going to get more than 1 taco but that didn’t happen). Then added the chips and guac. Of course, I had to add the large chips. I’m so glad the employee was understanding because I didn’t understand what the sizes are on their menu… uhmm how big is a large bag of chips and whats 2 oz vs. 8 oz guac? You guys should really display it. Food: 4* I ended up getting the Chicken Burrito with Green Chili Sauce, a large bag of chips, and guac. The burrito was massive. I can probably pass on the rice next time. I’m not a big fan of rice in my burrito and it’s not only here but anywhere. The chips are pretty fresh and crispy! and I got the 2 oz guac that was probably too little for me to taste. Next time probably get the 8 oz lol Parking: Hate it! There’s so many things in this plaza. You just have to wait till there’s an opening.

Absolutely loved the food here. It may be easy to miss because it’s in a small plaza right behind McDonalds. We tried the shrimp tacos, fish tacos and carne asada fries. They were all so good! But if I had to pick a favorite it would be the shrimp tacos. They make it fresh and the batter is light fluffy but also crunchy. If I would have to make one little suggestion it would be to make the carne asada fries a little less salty, but other than that it was perfection. Great service as well. Definitely coming back.

Found this restaurant on Unilocal while looking for a place to get dinner. Menu looked amazing, fulfilling, & reasonably priced. Best part of all they offered delivery. We places an order for carne asada fries, shrimp taco, & a carne asada burrito & no Mexican meal is complete without horchata. The food was well worth the 45 minute wait !!! Everything was finger licking good. The orders are huge & delicious. Definitely recommending them to everyone who loves Mexican food.

First off, HOLYSHITSNACKS!!! Hidden gem in Van Nuys! If you’re a fan of legitimate Mexican food, this is the spot! Being here in the valley there are a ton of Mexican food spots. Customer service: Excellent! And this is coming from my extremely judgmental self! Louie was awesome, my co-worker had a million questions about what’s in it, what does it come with and all the other usual questions. Without any hesitation Louie nails it! Taste: So we ordered it to dine in, and grabbed our drinks and sat down. Louie brought out some chips and salsa… lets take a moment to reflect in all the possible outcomes here… chips could be stale, salsa could be blah, or it could be mind blowing! Well, it was MINDBLOWING!!! Yeah, chips were fresh and tasted perfectly with the salsa provided. If you have a preference for green salsa or any other salsa, there’s a small mini bar with this for you. On to the main course, my tacos de Asada were exquisitely perfect with my rice and beans! The combination of this fantabulous trio is like an orgasm in your mouth! Overall, this place is a must try. I came here 30 minutes prior to closing and didn’t expect this. I highly recommend this to all my friends and fellow Unilocalers!

After ordering the Super Fries and a single fish taco(both heavily recommended by the friendly girl who helped me at the door), I went to the bathroom and came back to the best surprise possible on a Friday at 5pm… free chips and salsa waiting at the table for me! I took a chip and dipped, of course, and was even more surprised at how good both were. It’s not that I had low expectations for CG but they are giving out free chips and dip! and they are delicious! Anyways, the Super Carne Asada Fries were amazing and they give you a very large serving for the price. Now onto that fucking fish taco. BEST fish taco I think i’ve ever had. I’ve had a lot and i’ve smoked a lot so who knows but definitely the best one in years. Thanks Costa Grande.

Found this place on Unilocal while randomly searching for some fish tacos. My friend and I shared some battered fish tacos and the Asada super fries. Everything was amazing!!! The battered fish tacos were huge! A chunk of perfectly battered fish sitting on top of a yummy coleslaw salad and topped with salsa, they were delicious! The asada super fries were also reallyyyy good. It was a pile of seasoned fries topped with carne asada chunks, sour cream, and some banging salsa. We had some horchata, so refreshing! I recommend this place if you’re in the mood for some authentic, delicious, and affordable Mexican food! To top everything off, the service was INCREDIBLE!!! We were treated like royalty lol. The place deserves 5 plus stars

So I found this place through the app Unilocal eat. I live pretty close and was looking to try a New Mexican food place. This place popped up and I was pretty impressed by the reviews they had. Soooo … I had to try it out. I ordered Nachos de asada on the phone and the guy I spoke with said they would be ready right away. So I went on my way– never seen this place before because it’s hidden in a parking lot next to a Laundry mat and wabba grill. Got off to get my food– really clean place. I really like that you can see the kitchen… and everyone was all smiles –really polite. Took my food to go. Now let me tell you the nachos de asada were soooooooooooo flavorful loved that it had real nacho cheese. The only thing I would recommend is serving it with round or softer tortilla chips. The tortilla chips that it had were pretty hard and I have super sensitive teeth. Will definitely be coming back to try other things on there menu.

I’m only ever in Van Nuys when I need to visit one of my projects, and this is the first place that comes to mind when I’m out here! I would have never came across this restaurant had it not been for Unilocal. So thank you, Unilocal! It’s a great hole-in-the-wall tucked in the back of the plaza, I guess you’d call it, that’s behind the McDonald’s on the corner of Sepulveda and Sherman Way. The food, price and service is all great here. You order at the counter, and the food is delivered to your table. The workers will come by and check on you too. Combo plates are $ 7-$ 10. I love their chicken enchiladas. I tried one with green sauce and one with red; I prefer the red though. The tacos are also delicious! And their fish tacos… huge piece of fish! It tastes fresh, and its flaky, and it’s piping hot when it comes to the table. Don’t know if you can tell, but I’ll be back… many more times!
